Acts of the Apostles 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 When Pentecost day came round, they had al met together,	1 ولما حضر يوم الخمسين كان الجميع معا بنفس واحدة‎.
2 when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which fil ed the entire house inwhich they were sitting;	2 ‎وصار بغتة من السماء صوت كما من هبوب ريح عاصفة وملأ كل البيت حيث كانوا جالسين‎.
3 and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each ofthem.	3 ‎وظهرت لهم ألسنة منقسمة كانها من نار واستقرت على كل واحد منهم‎.
4 They were al fil ed with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave thempower to express themselves.	4 ‎وامتلأ الجميع من الروح القدس وابتدأوا يتكلمون بألسنة اخرى كما اعطاهم الروح ان ينطقوا
5 Now there were devout men living in Jerusalem from every nation under heaven,	5 وكان يهود رجال اتقياء من كل امة تحت السماء ساكنين في اورشليم‎.
6 and at this sound they al assembled, and each one was bewildered to hear these men speaking hisown language.	6 ‎فلما صار هذا الصوت اجتمع الجمهور وتحيّروا لان كل واحد كان يسمعهم يتكلمون بلغته‎.
7 They were amazed and astonished. 'Surely,' they said, 'al these men speaking are Galileans?	7 ‎فبهت الجميع وتعجبوا قائلين بعضهم لبعض أترى ليس جميع هؤلاء المتكلمين جليليين‎.
8 How does it happen that each of us hears them in his own native language?	8 ‎فكيف نسمع نحن كل واحد منا لغته التي ولد فيها‎.
9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; people from Mesopotamia, Judaea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,	9 ‎فرتيون وماديون وعيلاميون والساكنون ما بين النهرين واليهودية وكبدوكية وبنتس واسيا
10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya round Cyrene; residents of Rome-	10 وفريجية وبمفيلية ومصر ونواحي ليبية التي نحو القيروان والرومانيون المستوطنون يهود ودخلاء
11 Jews and proselytes alike -- Cretans and Arabs, we hear them preaching in our own language aboutthe marvels of God.'	11 كريتيون وعرب نسمعهم يتكلمون بألسنتنا بعظائم الله‎.
12 Everyone was amazed and perplexed; they asked one another what it all meant.	12 ‎فتحيّر الجميع وارتابوا قائلين بعضهم لبعض ما عسى ان يكون هذا‎.
13 Some, however, laughed it off. 'They have been drinking too much new wine,' they said.	13 ‎وكان آخرون يستهزئون قائلين انهم قد امتلأوا سلافة
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven and addressed them in a loud voice: 'Men of Judaea, and al youwho live in Jerusalem, make no mistake about this, but listen careful y to what I say.	14 فوقف بطرس مع الاحد عشر ورفع صوته وقال لهم ايها الرجال اليهود والساكنون في اورشليم اجمعون ليكن هذا معلوما عندكم واصغوا الى كلامي.
15 These men are not drunk, as you imagine; why, it is only the third hour of the day.	15 لان هؤلاء ليسوا سكارى كما انتم تظنون. لانها الساعة الثالثة من‏ النهار‎.
16 On the contrary, this is what the prophet was saying:	16 ‎بل هذا ما قيل بيوئيل النبي‎.
17 In the last days -- the Lord declares -- I shal pour out my Spirit on al humanity. Your sons anddaughters shal prophesy, your young people shal see visions, your old people dream dreams.	17 ‎يقول الله ويكون في الايام الاخيرة اني اسكب من روحي على كل بشر فيتنبأ بنوكم وبناتكم ويرى شبابكم رؤى ويحلم شيوخكم احلاما‎.
18 Even on the slaves, men and women, shall I pour out my Spirit.	18 ‎وعلى عبيدي ايضا واماءي اسكب من روحي في تلك الايام فيتنبأون‎.
19 I will show portents in the sky above and signs on the earth below.	19 ‎واعطي عجائب في السماء من فوق وآيات على الارض من اسفل دما ونارا وبخار دخان‎.
20 The sun wil be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the day of the Lord comes, thatgreat and terrible Day.	20 ‎تتحول الشمس الى ظلمة والقمر الى دم قبل ان يجيء يوم الرب العظيم الشهير‎.
21 And al who cal on the name of the Lord will be saved.	21 ‎ويكون كل من يدعو باسم الرب يخلص
22 'Men of Israel, listen to what I am going to say: Jesus the Nazarene was a man commended to you byGod by the miracles and portents and signs that God worked through him when he was among you, as youknow.	22 ايها الرجال الاسرائيليون اسمعوا هذه الاقوال. يسوع الناصري رجل قد تبرهن لكم من قبل الله بقوات وعجائب وآيات صنعها الله بيده في وسطكم كما انتم ايضا تعلمون‎.
23 This man, who was put into your power by the deliberate intention and foreknowledge of God, you tookand had crucified and kil ed by men outside the Law.	23 ‎هذا اخذتموه مسلّما بمشورة الله المحتومة وعلمه السابق وبايدي اثمة صلبتموه وقتلتموه‎.
24 But God raised him to life, freeing him from the pangs of Hades; for it was impossible for him to be heldin its power since,	24 ‎الذي اقامه الله ناقضا اوجاع الموت اذ لم يكن ممكنا ان يمسك منه.
25 as David says of him: I kept the Lord before my sight always, for with him at my right hand nothing canshake me.	25 لان داود يقول فيه كنت ارى الرب امامي في كل حين انه عن يميني لكي لا اتزعزع‎.
26 So my heart rejoiced my tongue delighted; my body, too, wil rest secure,	26 ‎لذلك سرّ قلبي وتهلل لساني حتى جسدي ايضا سيسكن على رجاء‎.
27 for you will not abandon me to Hades or al ow your holy one to see corruption.	27 ‎لانك لن تترك نفسي في الهاوية ولا تدع قدوسك يرى فسادا‎.
28 You have taught me the way of life, you wil fil me with joy in your presence.	28 ‎عرفتني سبل الحياة وستملأني سرورا مع وجهك‎.
29 'Brothers, no one can deny that the patriarch David himself is dead and buried: his tomb is stil with us.	29 ‎ايها الرجال الاخوة يسوغ ان يقال لكم جهارا عن رئيس الآباء داود انه مات ودفن وقبره عندنا حتى هذا اليوم‎.
30 But since he was a prophet, and knew that God had sworn him an oath to make one of hisdescendants succeed him on the throne,	30 ‎فاذ كان نبيا وعلم ان الله حلف له بقسم انه من ثمرة صلبه يقيم المسيح حسب الجسد ليجلس على كرسيه
31 he spoke with foreknowledge about the resurrection of the Christ: he is the one who was notabandoned to Hades, and whose body did not see corruption.	31 سبق فرأى وتكلم عن قيامة المسيح انه لم تترك نفسه في الهاوية ولا رأى جسده فسادا‎.
32 God raised this man Jesus to life, and of that we are al witnesses.	32 ‎فيسوع هذا اقامه الله ونحن جميعا شهود لذلك‎.
33 Now raised to the heights by God's right hand, he has received from the Father the Holy Spirit, whowas promised, and what you see and hear is the outpouring of that Spirit.	33 ‎واذ ارتفع بيمين الله واخذ موعد الروح القدس من الآب سكب هذا الذي انتم الآن تبصرونه وتسمعونه‎.
34 For David himself never went up to heaven, but yet he said: The Lord declared to my Lord, take yourseat at my right hand,	34 ‎لان داود لم يصعد الى السموات. وهو نفسه يقول قال الرب لربي اجلس عن يميني
35 till I have made your enemies your footstool.	35 حتى اضع اعداءك موطئا لقدميك‎.
36 'For this reason the whole House of Israel can be certain that the Lord and Christ whom God has madeis this Jesus whom you crucified.'	36 ‎فليعلم يقينا جميع بيت اسرائيل ان الله جعل يسوع هذا الذي صلبتموه انتم ربا ومسيحا
37 Hearing this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, 'What are we to do,brothers?'	37 فلما سمعوا نخسوا في قلوبهم وقالوا لبطرس ولسائر الرسل ماذا نصنع ايها الرجال الاخوة‎.
38 'You must repent,' Peter answered, 'and every one of you must be baptised in the name of Jesus Christfor the forgiveness of your sins, and you wil receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.	38 ‎فقال لهم بطرس توبوا وليعتمد كل واحد منكم على اسم يسوع المسيح لغفران الخطايا فتقبلوا عطية الروح القدس‎.
39 The promise that was made is for you and your children, and for al those who are far away, for althose whom the Lord our God is cal ing to himself.'	39 ‎لان الموعد هو لكم ولاولادكم ولكل الذين على بعد كل من يدعوه الرب الهنا‎.
40 He spoke to them for a long time using many other arguments, and he urged them, 'Save yourselvesfrom this perverse generation.'	40 ‎وباقوال أخر كثيرة كان يشهد لهم ويعظهم قائلا اخلصوا من هذا الجيل الملتوي‎.
41 They accepted what he said and were baptised. That very day about three thousand were added totheir number.	41 ‎فقبلوا كلامه بفرح واعتمدوا وانضمّ في ذلك اليوم نحو ثلاثة آلاف نفس
42 These remained faithful to the teaching of the apostles, to the brotherhood, to the breaking of breadand to the prayers.	42 وكانوا يواظبون على تعليم الرسل والشركة وكسر الخبز والصلوات‎.
43 And everyone was fil ed with awe; the apostles worked many signs and miracles.	43 ‎وصار خوف في كل نفس. وكانت عجائب وآيات كثيرة تجرى على ايدي الرسل‎.
44 And al who shared the faith owned everything in common;	44 ‎وجميع الذين آمنوا كانوا معا وكان عندهم كل شيء مشتركا‎.
45 they sold their goods and possessions and distributed the proceeds among themselves according towhat each one needed.	45 ‎والاملاك والمقتنيات كانوا يبيعونها ويقسمونها بين الجميع كما يكون لكل واحد احتياج‎.
46 Each day, with one heart, they regularly went to the Temple but met in their houses for the breaking ofbread; they shared their food gladly and generously;	46 ‎وكانوا كل يوم يواظبون في الهيكل بنفس واحدة. واذ هم يكسرون الخبز في البيوت كانوا يتناولون الطعام بابتهاج وبساطة قلب
47 they praised God and were looked up to by everyone. Day by day the Lord added to their communitythose destined to be saved.	47 مسبحين الله ولهم نعمة لدى جميع الشعب. وكان الرب كل يوم يضم الى الكنيسة الذين يخلصون
