Deuteronomy 30

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 'And when all these words have come true for you -- the blessing and the curse, which I have offeredyou -- if you meditate on them in your heart wherever among the nations Yahweh your God has driven you,	1 Quando tutte queste cose che io ti ho poste dinanzi, la benedizione e la maledizione, si saranno realizzate su di te e tu le richiamerai alla tua mente in mezzo a tutte le nazioni dove il Signore, tuo Dio, ti avrà disperso,
2 if you return to Yahweh your God, if with al your heart and with all your soul you obey his voice, youand your children, in everything that I am laying down for you today,	2 se ti convertirai al Signore, tuo Dio, e obbedirai alla sua voce, tu e i tuoi figli, con tutto il cuore e con tutta l’anima, secondo quanto oggi ti comando,
3 then Yahweh your God wil bring back your captives, he will have pity on you and gather you backfrom al the peoples among whom Yahweh your God has scattered you.	3 allora il Signore, tuo Dio, cambierà la tua sorte, avrà pietà di te e ti raccoglierà di nuovo da tutti i popoli in mezzo ai quali il Signore, tuo Dio, ti aveva disperso.
4 Should you have been banished to the very sky's end, Yahweh your God will gather you again evenfrom there, wil come there to reclaim you	4 Quand’anche tu fossi disperso fino all’estremità del cielo, di là il Signore, tuo Dio, ti raccoglierà e di là ti riprenderà.
5 and bring you back to the country which belonged to your ancestors, so that you may possess it inyour turn, and be made prosperous there and more numerous than your ancestors.	5 Il Signore, tuo Dio, ti ricondurrà nella terra che i tuoi padri avevano posseduto e tu ne riprenderai il possesso. Egli ti farà felice e ti moltiplicherà più dei tuoi padri.
6 'Yahweh your God wil circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you wil loveYahweh your God with all your heart and soul, and so wil live.	6 Il Signore, tuo Dio, circonciderà il tuo cuore e il cuore della tua discendenza, perché tu possa amare il Signore, tuo Dio, con tutto il cuore e con tutta l’anima e viva.
7 Yahweh your God wil make al these curses recoil on your foes and on your enemies who havepersecuted you.	7 Il Signore, tuo Dio, farà cadere tutti questi giuramenti imprecatori sui tuoi nemici e su quanti ti odieranno e perseguiteranno.
8 And once again you will obey the voice of Yahweh your God and you wil put all his commandmentsinto practice, which I am laying down for you today.	8 Tu ti convertirai, ascolterai la voce del Signore e metterai in pratica tutti questi comandi che oggi ti do.
9 Yahweh your God wil make you prosper in al your labours, in the offspring of your body, in the yieldof your cattle and in the yield of your soil. For once again Yahweh will delight in your prosperity as he used totake delight in the prosperity of your ancestors,	9 Il Signore, tuo Dio, ti farà sovrabbondare di beni in ogni lavoro delle tue mani, nel frutto delle tue viscere, nel frutto del tuo bestiame e nel frutto del tuo suolo. Il Signore, infatti, gioirà di nuovo per te facendoti felice, come gioiva per i tuoi padri,
10 if you obey the voice of Yahweh your God, by keeping his commandments and decrees written in thebook of this Law, and if you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and soul.	10 quando obbedirai alla voce del Signore, tuo Dio, osservando i suoi comandi e i suoi decreti, scritti in questo libro della legge, e quando ti sarai convertito al Signore, tuo Dio, con tutto il cuore e con tutta l’anima.
11 'For this Law which I am laying down for you today is neither obscure for you nor beyond your reach.	11 Questo comando che oggi ti ordino non è troppo alto per te, né troppo lontano da te.
12 It is not in heaven, so that you need to wonder, "Who wil go up to heaven for us and bring it down tous, so that we can hear and practise it?"	12 Non è nel cielo, perché tu dica: “Chi salirà per noi in cielo, per prendercelo e farcelo udire, affinché possiamo eseguirlo?”.
13 Nor is it beyond the seas, so that you need to wonder, "Who will cross the seas for us and bring itback to us, so that we can hear and practise it?"	13 Non è di là dal mare, perché tu dica: “Chi attraverserà per noi il mare, per prendercelo e farcelo udire, affinché possiamo eseguirlo?”.
14 No, the word is very near to you, it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to put into practice.	14 Anzi, questa parola è molto vicina a te, è nella tua bocca e nel tuo cuore, perché tu la metta in pratica.
15 'Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster.	15 Vedi, io pongo oggi davanti a te la vita e il bene, la morte e il male.
16 If you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, if youlove Yahweh your God and fol ow his ways, if you keep his commandments, his laws and his customs, you willlive and grow numerous, and Yahweh your God wil bless you in the country which you are about to enter andmake your own.	16 Oggi, perciò, io ti comando di amare il Signore, tuo Dio, di camminare per le sue vie, di osservare i suoi comandi, le sue leggi e le sue norme, perché tu viva e ti moltiplichi e il Signore, tuo Dio, ti benedica nella terra in cui tu stai per entrare per prenderne possesso.
17 But if your heart turns away, if you refuse to listen, if you let yourself be drawn into worshipping othergods and serving them,	17 Ma se il tuo cuore si volge indietro e se tu non ascolti e ti lasci trascinare a prostrarti davanti ad altri dèi e a servirli,
18 I tel you today, you will most certainly perish; you will not live for long in the country which you arecrossing the Jordan to enter and possess.	18 oggi io vi dichiaro che certo perirete, che non avrete vita lunga nel paese in cui state per entrare per prenderne possesso, attraversando il Giordano.
19 Today, I call heaven and earth to witness against you: I am offering you life or death, blessing orcurse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live,	19 Prendo oggi a testimoni contro di voi il cielo e la terra: io ti ho posto davanti la vita e la morte, la benedizione e la maledizione. Scegli dunque la vita, perché viva tu e la tua discendenza,
20 in the love of Yahweh your God, obeying his voice, holding fast to him; for in this your life consists,and on this depends the length of time that you stay in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestorsAbraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give them.'	20 amando il Signore, tuo Dio, obbedendo alla sua voce e tenendoti unito a lui, poiché è lui la tua vita e la tua longevità, per poter così abitare nel paese che il Signore ha giurato di dare ai tuoi padri, Abramo, Isacco e Giacobbe».
