1 Jesus left the Temple, and as he was going away his disciples came up to draw his attention to theTemple buildings.	1 Ed uscito Gesù dal tempio se n' andava. E se gli appressarono i suoi discepoli per fargli osservare le fabbriche del tempio.
2 He said to them in reply, 'You see al these? In truth I tell you, not a single stone here wil be left onanother: everything will be pul ed down.'	2 Ma egli prese a dir loro: Vedete voi tutte queste cose? In verità vi dico, non resterà qui pietra sopra pietra senza essere scompaginata.
3 And while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives the disciples came and asked him when they were bythemselves, 'Tel us, when is this going to happen, and what sign wil there be of your coming and of the end ofthe world?'	3 Ed essendo egli a sedere sul monte Oliveto, se gli accostarono i discepoli di nascosto, e gli dissero: Di' a noi, quando succederan queste cose? e quale il segno di tua venuta, e della fine del secolo?
4 And Jesus answered them, 'Take care that no one deceives you,	4 E Gesù rispose, e disse loro: Badate, che alcuno non vi seduca.
5 because many wil come using my name and saying, "I am the Christ," and they will deceive many.	5 Imperocché molti verranno nel nome mio, dicendo: Io sono il Cristo; e sedurranno molta gente.
6 You wil hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for this is something thatmust happen, but the end wil not be yet.	6 Imperocché sentirete parlare di guerre, e di rumori di guerre. Badate di non turbarvi: conciossiaché bisogna, che queste cose succedano; ma non finisce qui.
7 For nation wil fight against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There wil be famines andearthquakes in various places.	7 Imperocché si solleverà popolo contro popolo, e regno contro regno; e vi saran delle pestilenze, e carestie, e tremuoti in questa, e in quella parte.
8 All this is only the beginning of the birthpangs.	8 Ma tutte queste cose sono il principio dei dolori.
9 'Then you wil be handed over to be tortured and put to death; and you will be hated by all nations onaccount of my name.	9 Allora vi getteranno nella tribolazione, e vi faranno morire, e sarete odiati da tutte le nazioni per causa del nome mio.
10 And then many wil fall away; people wil betray one another and hate one another.	10 E allora molti patiranno scandalo, e l'uno tradirà l'altro, e si odieranno l'un l'altro.
11 Many false prophets wil arise; they will deceive many,	11 E usciranno fuora molti falsi profeti, e sedurranno molta gente.
12 and with the increase of lawlessness, love in most people wil grow cold;	12 E per essere soprabbondata l'iniquità, raffredderassi la carità in molti.
13 but anyone who stands firm to the end wil be saved.	13 Ma chi persevererà sino al fine, questi sarà salvo.
14 'This good news of the kingdom wil be proclaimed to the whole world as evidence to the nations. Andthen the end wil come.	14 E sarà predicato questo Vangelo del regno per tutta la terra, per testimonianza a tutte le nazioni: e allora verrà la fine.
15 'So when you see the appal ing abomination, of which the prophet Daniel spoke, set up in the holyplace (let the reader understand),	15 Quando adunque vedrete l'abbominazione della desolazione predetta dal profeta Daniele posta nel luogo santo (chi legge, comprenda):
16 then those in Judaea must escape to the mountains;	16 Allora coloro, che sii troveranno nella Giudea, fuggano ai monti:
17 if anyone is on the housetop, he must not come down to col ect his belongings from the house;	17 E chi si troverà sopra il solaio, non iscenda per prendere qualche cosa di casa sua:
18 if anyone is in the fields, he must not turn back to fetch his cloak.	18 E chi sarà al campo, non ritorni a pigliar la sua veste.
19 Alas for those with child, or with babies at the breast, when those days come!	19 Ma guai alle donne gravide, oche avranno bambini al petto in que' giorni.
20 Pray that you will not have to make your escape in winter or on a Sabbath.	20 Pregate perciò, che non abbiate a fuggire di verno, o in giorno di sabato:
21 For then there will be great distress, unparalleled since the world began, and such as wil never beagain.	21 Imperocché grande sarà allora la tribolazione, quale non fu dal principio del mondo sino a quest' oggi, né mai sarà.
22 And if that time had not been shortened, no human being would have survived; but shortened thattime shal be, for the sake of those who are chosen.	22 E se non fossero accorciati que' giorni, non sarebbe uomo restato salvo: ma saranno accorciati que' giorni in grazia degli eletti.
23 'If anyone says to you then, "Look, here is the Christ," or "Over here," do not believe it;	23 Allora se alcuno vi dirà: Ecco qui, o ecco là il Cristo: non date retta.
24 for false Christs and false prophets wil arise and provide great signs and portents, enough to deceiveeven the elect, if that were possible.	24 Imperocché usciranno fuora de' falsi cristi, e de' falsi profeti, e faranno miracoli grandi, e prodigj, da fare che siano ingannati (se è possibile) gli stessi eletti.
25 Look! I have given you warning.	25 Ecco che io ve l'ho predetto.
26 'If, then, they say to you, "Look, he is in the desert," do not go there; "Look, he is in some hiding place," do not believe it;	26 Se adunque vi diranno: Ecco che egli è nel deserto, non vogliate muovervi; eccolo in fondo della casa, non date retta.
27 because the coming of the Son of man wil be like lightning striking in the east and flashing far intothe west.	27 Imperocché siccome il lampo si parte dall'oriente, e si fa vedere sino all'occidente; cosi la venuta del figliuolo dell'uomo.
28 Wherever the corpse is, that is where the vultures wil gather.	28 Dovunque sarà il corpo, quivi si raduneranno le aquile.
29 'Immediately after the distress of those days the sun wil be darkened, the moon wil not give its light,the stars wil fall from the sky and the powers of the heavens wil be shaken.	29 Immediatamente poi dopo la tribolazione di que' giorni si oscurerà il sole, e la luna non darà più la sua luce, e cadranno dal cielo le stelle, e le potestà ne' cieli saranno sommosse.
30 And then the sign of the Son of man wil appear in heaven; then, too, all the peoples of the earth wilbeat their breasts; and they wil see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.	30 Allora il segno del Figliuolo dell'uomo comparirà nel cielo: e allora si batteranno il petto tutte le tribù della terra, e vedranno il Figliuol dell'uomo scendere sulle nubi del cielo con potestà, e maestà grande.
31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet to gather his elect from the four winds, from one endof heaven to the other.	31 E manderà i suoi Angeli, i quali con tromba, e voce sonora raduneranno i suoi eletti dai quattro venti, da un'estremità de' cieli all'altra.
32 'Take the fig tree as a parable: as soon as its twigs grow supple and its leaves come out, you knowthat summer is near.	32 Dalla pianta del fico imparate questa similitudine. Quando il ramo di essa intenerisce, e spuntano le foglie, voi sapete, che la state è vicina:
33 So with you when you see al these things: know that he is near, right at the gates.	33 Così ancora, quando voi vedrete tutte queste cose, sappiate, che egli è vicino alla porta.
34 In truth I tel you, before this generation has passed away, al these things wil have taken place.	34 In verità vi dico, non passerà questa generazione, che adempite non siano tutte queste cose.
35 Sky and earth will pass away, but my words wil never pass away.	35 Il cielo, e la terra passeranno; ma le mie parole non passeranno.
36 But as for that day and hour, nobody knows it, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, no one butthe Father alone.	36 Quanto poi a quel giorno, e a quell'ora nissuno la sa, nemmeno gli Angeli del cielo, eccetto il solo Padre.
37 'As it was in Noah's day, so wil it be when the Son of man comes.	37 E come (fu) a' tempi di Noè; cosi sarà ancora al venire del Figliuolo dell'uomo.
38 For in those days before the Flood people were eating, drinking, taking wives, taking husbands, rightup to the day Noah went into the ark,	38 Imperocché siccome ne' giorni avanti al diluvio gli uomini se ne stavano mangiando, e bevendo, sposando, e dando a marito le donne sino a quel giorno, che Noè entrò nell'arca:
39 and they suspected nothing til the Flood came and swept them al away. This is what it wil be likewhen the Son of man comes.	39 E non si detter pensiero, sintanto che venne il diluvio, e uccise tutti; cosi sarà alla venuta del Figliuolo dell'uomo.
40 Then of two men in the fields, one is taken, one left;	40 Allora due si troveranno in un campo: uno sarà preso, e l'altro abbandonato.
41 of two women grinding at the mil , one is taken, one left.	41 Due donne saranno a macinare al mulino: una sarà presa, e l'altra abbandonata.
42 'So stay awake, because you do not know the day when your master is coming.	42 Vegliate adunque, perché non sapete, a che ora sia per venire il Signor vostro.
43 You may be quite sure of this, that if the householder had known at what time of the night the burglarwould come, he would have stayed awake and would not have al owed anyone to break through the wal of hishouse.	43 Sappiate però, che, se il padre di famiglia sapesse, a che ora sia per venire il ladro, vogherebbe certamente, e non lascerebbe, che fosse sforzata la sua casa.
44 Therefore, you too must stand ready because the Son of man is coming at an hour you do notexpect.	44 Per questo anche voi state preparati, perché il Figliuolo dell'uomo verrà in quell'ora, che non pensate.
45 'Who, then, is the wise and trustworthy servant whom the master placed over his household to givethem their food at the proper time?	45 Chi è mai quel servo fedele, e prudente preposto dal padrone sopra la sua servitù, per distribuirle il vitto a' suoi tempi.
46 Blessed that servant if his master's arrival finds him doing exactly that.	46 Beato quel servo, cui il padrone in venendo troverà cosi diportarsi.
47 In truth I tel you, he will put him in charge of everything he owns.	47 In verità vi dico, che gli affiderà il governo di tutti i suoi beni.
48 But if the servant is dishonest and says to himself, "My master is taking his time,"	48 Ma se quel servò cattivo dirà in cuor suo: Il mio padrone tarda a venire:
49 and sets about beating his fellow-servants and eating and drinking with drunkards,	49 E comincerà a battere i suoi con servi, e a mangiare, e bere con gli ubbriachi:
50 his master wil come on a day he does not expect and at an hour he does not know.	50 Verrà il padrone di questo servo nel dì, che egli non se l'aspetta, e nell'ora, che egli non sa:
51 The master wil cut him off and send him to the same fate as the hypocrites, where there wil beweeping and grinding of teeth.'	51 E lo separerà, e gli darà luogo tra gl'ipocriti: ivi sarà pianto, e stridor di denti.
