1 Then I said, 'Kindly listen, you leaders of the House of Jacob, you princes of the House of Israel. Surelyyou are the ones who ought to know what is right,	1 E io dissi: « Ascoltate, o principi di Giacobbe, o condottieri della casa d'Israele. Non è vostro dovere sapere quel che è giusto?
2 and yet you hate what is good and love what is evil, skinning people alive, pul ing the flesh off theirbones,	2 Invece voi odiate il bene e amate il male, voi con violenza strappate la pelle di dosso alla gente, e la loro carne di sopra le loro ossa.
3 eating my people's flesh, stripping off their skin, breaking up their bones, chopping them up smal likeflesh for the pot, like meat in the stew-pan?'	3 Essi han divorate le carni del mio popolo, l'hanno scorticato, gli han tribbiate le ossa, lo han fatto a pezzi come in una caldaia, come carne in una pignatta.
4 Then they wil cal to Yahweh, but he wil not answer them. When the time comes he will hide his facefrom them because of the crimes they have committed.	4 E poi alzeranno le loro grida al Signore; ma egli non li esaudirà, in quel tempo nasconderà ad essi la sua faccia a causa delle perverse azioni fatte secondo i loro ritrovati.
5 Yahweh says this against the prophets who lead my people astray: So long as they have something toeat they cry 'Peace'. But on anyone who puts nothing into their mouths they declare war.	5 Ecco quanto dice il Signore riguardo ai profeti che seducono il mio popolo, che, avendo da masticare per i loro denti, predicano la pace; ma se uno non mette loro niente in bocca cominciano la guerra contro di lui:
6 And so, for you, night wil be without vision and for you the darkness without divination. The sun wil setfor the prophets, the daylight will go black above them.	6 « Per questo, avrete la notte invece della visione, le tenebre invece delle divinazioni: il sole tramonterà per questi profeti, e sopra di essi il giorno si farà buio.
7 Then the seers wil be covered with shame, the diviners with confusion; they wil al put their hands overtheir mouths because there is no answer from God.	7 I visionari saranno svergognati, saran piendi confusione gl'indovini, tutti si copriranno la faccia, per non avere il responso di Dio.
8 Not so with me, I am ful of strength (ful of Yahweh's spirit), of the sense of right, of energy to accuseJacob of his crime and Israel of his sin.	8 Io sono stato riempito di for­za, collo spirito del Signore, digiudizio, di coraggio, per annun­ziare a Giacobbe il suo delitto,a Israele il suo peccato.
9 Kindly listen to this, you leaders of the House of Jacob, you princes of the House of Israel, who detestjustice, wresting it from its honest course,	9 Ascoltate adunque queste co­se, o principi della casa di Gia­cobbe, o giudici della casa d'I­sraele, che avete in orrore la giu­stizia, e pervertite ogni cosa buo­na,
10 who build Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity!	10 che edificate Sion col san­gue, e Gerusalemme con l'ini­quità.
11 Her leaders give verdicts for presents, her priests take a fee for their rulings, her prophets divine formoney and yet they rely on Yahweh! 'Isn't Yahweh among us?' they say, 'No disaster is going to overtake us.'	11 I suoi principi giudicano mossi dai regali, i suoi sacerdoti insegnano per la paga, i suoi pro­feti profetizzano per danaro; e poi si riposano nel Signore e si mettono a dire: — Non è forse in mezzo a noi il Signore? Non potrà venire sopra di noi alcun male. —
12 That is why, thanks to you, Zion will become ploughland, Jerusalem a heap of rubble and the TempleMount a wooded height.	12 Per questo, per colpa vostra, Sion sarà arata come un campo, Gerusalemme diverrà un monte di pietre, e il monte del tempio un'alta foresta.
