1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 E il Signore parIò a Mosè, e disse:
2 'Order the Israelites to expel from the camp al those suffering from a contagious skin-disease or froma discharge, or who have become unclean by touching a corpse.	2 Ordina a' figliuoli d'Israele, che scaccino dagli alloggiamenti tutt'i lebbrosi, e quelliche patiscono gonorrea, e quegli che sono immondi per causa di un morto.
3 Whether man or woman, you will expel them; you wil expel them from the camp, so that they do notpollute their encampments, in the heart of which I dwel .'	3 Maschi, o femmine che sieno, cacciategli via dagli alloggiamenti, affinché non li rendanoimmondi, mentre io vi abito insieme con voi.
4 The Israelites did so: they expel ed them from the camp. The Israelites did as Yahweh had told Moses.	4 E così fecero i figliuoli d'Israele, e cacciarono coloro fuori degli alloggiamenti, come ilSignore avea detto a Mosè.
5 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	5 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
6 'Speak to the Israelites: "If a man or woman commits any of the sins by which people break faith withYahweh, that person incurs guilt.	6 Tu dirai ai figliuoli d'Israele: Se un uomo, o una donna per negligenza farà alcuno di queipeccati, che sono ordinarii agli uomini, e per negligenza trasgrediranno il precetto delSignore, e peccheranno,
7 "The person must confess the sin committed and restore in ful the amount owed, with one-fifth added.Payment is to be made to the person wronged.	7 Confesseranno la loro colpa, e rifaranno i danni col quinto di più a colui contro del qualehan peccato.
8 "If, however, the latter has no relation to whom restitution can be made, the restitution due to Yahwehreverts to the priest, apart from the ram of expiation with which the priest makes expiation for the guilty party.	8 Se non havvi chi riceva la restituzione, la faranno al Signore, ed ella sarà del sacerdote,eccettuato l'ariete, che si offerisce in espiazione, e per esser ostia, che impetri perdono.
9 For of everything the Israelites consecrate and bring to the priest he has a right to the portion setaside.	9 Tutte parimente le primizie offerte dai figliuoli d'Israele spettano al sacerdote:
10 Whatever anyone consecrates is his own; whatever is given to the priest belongs to the priest." '	10 E tutto quello che da ciascheduno è portato al santuario, e posto nelle mani del sacerdote,sarà del sacerdote.
11 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	11 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
12 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If anyone has a wife who goes astray and is unfaithful to him,	12 Parla a' figliuoli d'Israele, e di' loro: Se una donna cade in peccato, e dispregiando ilmarito
13 if some other man sleeps with the woman without the husband's knowledge, and she secretly makesherself unclean, without any witness against her, and without anyone catching her in the act;	13 Dorme con altro uomo, e il marito non può venirne in chiaro, ma l'adulterio è nascoso, e nonpuò provarsi coi testimoni, perché ella non fu colta in fallo:
14 if, then, a spirit of suspicion comes over the husband and makes him suspicious of the wife who hasdisgraced herself, or again if this spirit of suspicion comes over him and makes him suspicious of his wife evenwhen she is innocent,	14 Se lo spirito di gelosia si è impossessato dell'uomo riguardo alla sua moglie, la quale o èstata disonorata, o senza ragione è sospetta,
15 the man wil bring his wife before the priest, and on her behalf make an offering of one-tenth of anephah of barley meal. He will not pour oil over it or put incense on it, because this is a cereal offering for a caseof suspicion, a memorial offering to recal guilt to mind.	15 Quegli la menerà al sacerdote, e offerirà per lei la decima parte d'un sato di farina d'orzosenza spargervi sopra dell'olio, né porvi dell'incenso: perché questo è sacrifizio digelosia, e obblazione fatta per iscoprire l'adulterio.
16 "The priest will then bring the woman forward and place her before Yahweh.	16 Il sacerdote adunque la offerirà, e presenterà (la donna) dinanzi al Signore:
17 The priest wil then take fresh water in an earthen jar, and on the water throw dust that he has takenfrom the floor of the Dwel ing.	17 E prenderà dell'acqua santa in un vaso di terra, e vi getterà dentro un pocolino di terradel pavimento del tabernacolo.
18 After he has placed the woman before Yahweh, he will unbind her hair and put the commemorativecereal offering (that is, the cereal offering for a case of suspicion) into her hands. In his own hands the priest wilhold the water of bitterness and cursing.	18 E stando la donna al cospetto del Signore, egli le scoprirà il capo, e porrà sulle mani dilei il sacrifizio di ricordanza, e l'obblazione di gelosia: ed egli terrà le acque diamaritudine, sopra le quali ha proferite le maledizioni, ed esecrazioni:
19 "The priest will then put the woman on oath. He will say to her: If it is not true that a man has sleptwith you, that you have gone astray and made yourself unclean while under your husband's authority, may thiswater of bitterness and cursing do you no harm.	19 E la scongiurerà, e dirà: Se non ha dormito con te altro uomo, e se tu non ti seidisonorata, abbandonando il talamo coniugale, non nuoceranno a te queste acque amarissime,sopra le quali ho gettate maledizioni.
20 But if it is true that you have gone astray while under your husband's authority, that you have madeyourself unclean and that a man other than your husband has slept with you . . .	20 Ma se tu ti sei alienata dal tuo marito, e ti sei disonorata, e hai dormito con altro uomo,
21 Here the priest wil impose an imprecatory oath on the woman. He wil say to her: . . . May Yahwehmake you the object of your people's execration and curses, by making your sexual organs shrivel and your bel yswel !	21 Cadrai in queste maledizioni: il Signore ti faccia argomento ed esempio di maledizione a'tutto il suo popolo: faccia infracidir il tuo ventre, e gonfi, e crepi il tuo utero:
22 May this water of cursing entering your bowels, make your belly swell and your sexual organs shrivel!To which the woman will reply: Amen! Amen!	22 Entrino le acque di maledizione nel tuo ventre, ed enfiato il tuo utero s'infracidisca iltuo fianco. E la donna risponderà: Cosi sia, così sia.
23 "Having written these curses on a scrol and washed them off in the water of bitterness,	23 E il sacerdote scriverà in un libretto queste maledizioni, e le cancellerà coll'acque diamaritudine, sopra le quali scaricò le maledizioni,
24 the priest wil make the woman drink the water of bitterness and cursing; when the water of cursingenters into her, it wil become bitter.	24 E le darà a bere alla donna; e quando ella le avrà tracannate,
25 "The priest will then take the cereal offering for a case of suspicion from the woman's hands, and holdit up before Yahweh with a gesture of offering, and so carry it up to the altar.	25 Il sacerdote prenderà dalle mani di lei il sacrifizio di gelosia, e lo alzerà dinanzi alSignore, e porrallo sull'altare: con questo però, che prima
26 He will take a handful of it as a memorial and burn it on the altar. "After this, he wil make the woman drink the water.	26 Prenderà una manata dell'obblazione, e la brucerà sull'altare: e allora darà a bere alladonna le acque amarissime.
27 After he has made her drink it, if it is true that she has made herself unclean and been unfaithful toher husband, the water of cursing then entering into her wil indeed be bitter: her bel y wil swel and her sexualorgans shrivel, and she wil be an object of execration to her people.	27 Bevute le quali, se ella ha peccato, e se disprezzato il marito, si è fatta rea diadulterio, s'impossesseranno di lei le acque di maledizione, ed enfiato il ventre,infracidirà il suo fianco: e quella donna sarà argomento, ed esempio di maledizione pertutto il popolo.
28 But if she has not made herself unclean, but is clean, then she will go unscathed and wil bearchildren.	28 Che se non è rea, non patirà mal nissuno, e farà figliuoli.
29 "Such is the ritual in cases of suspicion, when a woman has gone astray and made herself uncleanwhile under her husband's authority,	29 Questa è la legge per le occasioni di gelosia. Se la donna si aliena dal suo marito, e sidisonora,
30 or when a spirit of suspicion has come over a man and made him suspicious of his wife. When ahusband brings such a woman before Yahweh, the priest will apply this ritual to her in full.	30 E il marito preso da spirito di gelosia la conduce al cospetto del Signore, e il sacerdotefa a lei tutto quello che si è scritto,
31 The husband wil be guiltless, but the woman wil bear the consequences of her guilt." '	31 Il marito sarà senza colpa, e quella pagherà il fio di sua iniquità.
