Joel 4

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 'For in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,	1 Perché, ecco, in quei giorni, in quel tempo, quando avrò ristabilito Giuda e Gerusalemme,
2 I shall gather all the nations together and take them down to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat; there I shal putthem on trial because of Israel, my people and my heritage, for having scattered them among the nations andhaving divided my land among themselves.	2 radunerò tutte le nazioni, le farò scendere nella valle di Giòsafat; là istituirò un processo contro di loro per Israele, mio popolo e mia proprietà, che hanno disperso in mezzo alle nazioni e si sono divise la mia terra!
3 They drew lots for my people, bartering a boy for a whore and sel ing a girl for wine to drink.	3 Sul mio popolo hanno gettato la sorte, hanno scambiato i fanciulli con prostitute, le fanciulle hanno venduto per vino, che poi hanno bevuto!
4 'And what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon and al you regions of Philistia? Can you take revenge on me?If you take revenge on me, I shal quickly, instantly, make your revenge recoil on your own heads	4 Or che c'è tra me e voi, Tiro, Sidone e tutti i distretti dei Filistei? Volete forse vendicarvi di me? Se volete far vendetta su di me, prontamente, rapidamente la farò ricadere sopra le vostre teste!
5 for having taken my silver and gold away and carried off my valuable treasures to your temples,	5 Voi che avete preso il mio argento e il mio oro e avete portato i miei tesori nei vostri templi;
6 and for having sold the children of Judah and Jerusalem to the Ionians, to be taken far away from theirown frontiers.	6 gli abitanti di Giuda e di Gerusalemme li avete venduti ai Greci per allontanarli dal loro paese!
7 Look, I shal rouse them from the places to which you have sold them; I shall make your actions recoilon your own heads	7 Eccomi a richiamarli dal luogo dove li avete venduti; a far ricadere le vostre azioni sopra le vostre teste!
8 by sel ing your sons and daughters to the sons of Judah, who in turn wil sel them to the Sabaeans, to anation far away- Yahweh has spoken!'	8 Io venderò i vostri figli e le figlie agli abitanti di Giuda che li rivenderanno ai Sabei, a un popolo lontano! Sì, è il Signore che parla!
9 Proclaim this among the nations. Prepare for war! Rouse the champions! Al you troops, advance,march!	9 Annunziate questo tra le genti: Proclamate la guerra santa! Svegliate gli eroi! Avanzino, salgano tutti gli uomini d'armi!
10 Hammer your ploughshares into swords, your bil -hooks into spears; let the weakling say, 'I am tough!'	10 Trasformate le vostre scuri in spade e le vostre falci in lance! Il debole dica: "Sono un eroe!".
11 Hurry and come, al the nations around, and assemble there! (Yahweh, send down your champions!)	11 Su, venite, nazioni tutte d'intorno! Riunitevi là! Signore, fa' scendere i tuoi eroi!
12 'Let the nations rouse themselves and march to the Val ey of Jehoshaphat, for there I shal sit injudgement on all the nations around.	12 Si destino, salgano le genti verso la valle di Giòsafat! Là io mi siedo per fare il giudizio a tutte le nazioni d'intorno!
13 Ply the sickle, for the harvest is ripe; come and tread, for the winepress is full; the vats are overflowing,so great is their wickedness!'	13 Impugnate la falce: la messe è matura! Venite, pigiate: è pieno il tino! Traboccano gli orci: grande è la loro malizia!
14 Multitude on multitude in the Valley of Decision! For the Day of Yahweh is near in the Val ey of theVerdict!	14 Folle e folle nella Valle della decisione! E' vicino il giorno del Signore nella Valle della decisione!
15 Sun and moon grow dark, the stars lose their brilliance.	15 Sole e luna si oscurano, le stelle perdono il loro splendore!
16 Yahweh roars from Zion, he thunders from Jerusalem; heaven and earth tremble. But Yahweh wil be ashelter for his people, a stronghold for the Israelites.	16 Il Signore ruggisce da Sion, da Gerusalemme fa sentir la sua voce. Ma il Signore è rifugio per il suo popolo, una fortezza per i figli d'Israele!
17 'Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God residing on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem wilthen be a sanctuary, no foreigners will overrun it ever again.'	17 Così sapete che io sono il Signore, vostro Dio, che abita in Sion, mia santa montagna. Gerusalemme è un santuario, gli stranieri non vi passano più!
18 When that Day comes, the mountains will run with new wine and the hil s wil flow with milk, and al thestream-beds of Judah will run with water. A fountain wil spring from Yahweh's Temple and water the Gorge ofthe Acacias.	18 In quel giorno le montagne stilleranno vino, le colline scorreranno di latte e tutti i torrenti di Giuda rigurgiteranno di acqua! Una sorgente zampillerà dalla casa del Signore e irrigherà la valle delle Acacie.
19 Egypt wil become a desolation, and Edom a desert waste on account of the violence done to thechildren of Judah whose innocent blood they shed in their country.	19 L'Egitto diventerà una landa solitaria, Edom un deserto desolato, per le violenze contro gli abitanti di Giuda, per il sangue innocente versato nel loro paese.
20 But Judah wil be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation!	20 Ma Giuda sarà abitata per sempre, Gerusalemme di età in età.
21 'I shal avenge their blood and let none go unpunished,' and Yahweh wil dwell in Zion.	21 Io dichiaro innocente il loro sangue, sì, lo dichiaro innocente: il Signore abita in Sion!
