Hosea 9

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 No merrymaking, Israel, for you, no rejoicing like other peoples, for you have deserted your God to playthe whore, you have loved the fee of prostitution on every threshing-floor.	1 Israel era una viña exuberante, que producía su fruto. Cuanto más se multiplicaban sus frutos, más multiplicaba él los altares; cuanto mejor le iba al país, mejores hacía él las piedras conmemorativas.
2 The threshing-floor and wine-press will not feed them; they will be disappointed of new wine.	2 Su corazón está dividido, ahora tendrán que expiar: el mismo Señor destrozará sus altares, devastará sus piedras conmemorativas.
3 No more wil they live in Yahweh's country; Ephraim will have to go back to Egypt, and eat polluted foodin Assyria.	3 Seguramente dirán entonces: «No tenemos rey, porque no hemos temido al Señor. Pero el rey ¿que podría hacer por nosotros?».
4 No more wil they pour libations of wine to Yahweh, and their sacrifices will not win his favour but will belike funeral fare for them: whoever eats them wil be pol uted; for their food wil be for themselves alone, notbeing offered in Yahweh's home.	4 Se pronuncian palabras, se jura en falso, se firman alianzas, mientras el derecho crece como la hierba venenosa en los surcos de los campos.
5 What wil you do on the solemn feast-day, on the day of Yahweh's festival?	5 Los habitantes de Samaría tiemblan por el ternero de Bet Aven. Sí, su pueblo está de duelo por él, lo mismo que sus sacerdotes: ¡que se alegren de su gloria, ahora que ha sido desterrada lejos de nosotros!
6 What a scene of devastastion they have left! Egypt wil round them up, Memphis will bury them, nettleswil inherit their fields and thorn-bushes invade their homesteads.	6 El ternero será llevado a Asiria como tributo para el gran rey. Efraím soportará el oprobio e Israel se avergonzará de sus intrigas.
7 The days of punishment have come, the days of retribution are here; Israel knows it! 'The prophet ismad and the inspired man a fool!' Great has been your guilt- al the greater then the hostility!	7 ¡Samaría está completamente perdida! Su rey es como una astilla sobre la superficie de las aguas.
8 The watchman of Ephraim is with my God: it is the prophet- and a fowler's trap is placed on al hispaths; and in the shrine of his God there is enmity towards him.	8 Los lugares altos de Aven, el pecado de Israel, también serán destruidos; espinas y cardos invadirán sus altares. Ellos dirán entonces a las montañas: «Cúbrannos», y a las colinas: «¡Caigan sobres nosotros!».
9 They have become deeply corrupt as in the days of Gibeah; he will remember their guilt, he wil punishtheir sins.	9 ¡Desde los días de Guibeá, tú has pecado, Israel! ¡Allí se han quedado! ¿No los sorprenderá en Guibeá la guerra contra los injustos?
10 It was like finding grapes in the desert when I found Israel, like seeing early fruit on a fig tree when Isaw your ancestors; but when they reached Baal-Peor they devoted themselves to Shame and became asloathsome as the thing they loved.	10 Yo los corregiré como me parezca: los pueblos se reunirán contra ellos, cuando sean corregidos por su doble crimen.
11 The glory of Ephraim wil fly away like a bird: no giving birth, no pregnancy, no conceiving.	11 Efraím era una ternera bien adiestrada, le gustaba trillar. Pero yo hice pasar el yugo sobre su hermosa cerviz: yo unciré a Efraím, Judá tendrá que arar, Jacob pasará el rastrillo.
12 If they rear their children, I shal take them away before they grow up! Woe to them indeed when Ileave them!	12 Siembren semillas de justicia, cosechen el fruto de la fidelidad, roturen un campo nuevo: es tiempo de buscar al Señor, hasta que él venga y haga llover para ustedes la justicia.
13 Ephraim looked to me like Tyre, planted in a meadow, so Ephraim will present his children to theslaughterer.	13 Ustedes han arado la maldad, han cosechado la injusticia, han comido el fruto de la mentira. Porque has confiado en tu poderío, en la multitud de tus guerreros,
14 Give them, Yahweh- what are you to give? - give them wombs that miscarry and dried-up breasts.	14 habrá un tumulto en medio de tu pueblo; todas tus fortalezas serán devastadas, como Salmán devastó a Bet Arbel en el día del combate, cuando fue aplastada la madre con sus hijos.
15 Their wickedness appeared in ful at Gilgal, there I came to hate them. Because of the wickedness oftheir deeds I shall drive them from my home, I shal love them no longer; all their princes are rebels.	15 Esto es lo que les hizo Betel, por la enorme maldad de ustedes: al despuntar el alba, el rey de Israel estará completamente perdido.
16 Ephraim is blasted, their root has dried out, they wil bear no more fruit. And even if they do bearchildren I shal slaughter the darlings of their womb.	16 Efraím está herido, se ha secado su raíz, ya no fructificará. Aunque tengan hijos, yo mataré el fruto precioso de sus entrañas.
17 Because they have not listened to him, my God wil cast them off and they wil become wanderersamong the nations.	17 Mi Dios los rechazará porque no lo escucharon, y andarán errantes entre las naciones. $ 10
