Hosea 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 But the Israelites wil become as numerous as the sands of the sea, which cannot be measured orcounted. In the very place where they were told, 'You are not my people,' they wil be told they are 'Children ofthe living God'.	1 Les Israélites seront nombreux comme le sable de la mer qu’on ne peut ni mesurer ni compter; au lieu de leur dire: “Vous n’êtes pas mon peuple”, on les appellera: “Fils du Dieu vivant.”
2 The Judaeans and Israelites will be reunited and wil choose themselves a single head, and will spreadfar beyond their country, for great will be the Day of Jezreel!	2 Les fils de Juda et les fils d’Israël se réuniront, ils se donneront un chef unique, ils déborderont hors du pays, car le jour d’Yizréel sera grand.
3 Then call your brothers, 'My people', and your sisters, 'You have been pitied'.	3 Vous direz à vos frères: “Mon peuple” et vous appellerez vos sœurs: “Celles dont on a pitié”.
4 To court, take your mother to court! For she is no longer my wife nor am I her husband. She must eitherremove her whoring ways from her face and her adulteries from between her breasts,	4 Accusez votre mère, accusez-la, car elle n’est plus ma femme et je ne suis plus son mari. Qu’elle écarte de devant elle ses prostitutions et d’entre ses seins ses adultères.
5 or I shal strip her and expose her naked as the day she was born; I shall make her as bare as thedesert, I shall make her as dry as arid country, and let her die of thirst.	5 Sinon je la dévêtirai et la laisserai nue, sans rien, comme au jour de sa naissance; je la rendrai semblable au désert, j’en ferai une terre aride: elle mourra de soif.
6 And I shal feel no pity for her children since they are the children of her whorings.	6 Je n’aurai aucune pitié pour ses fils, car ce sont des enfants de prostitution.
7 Yes, their mother has played the whore, she who conceived them has disgraced herself by saying, 'Ishall chase after my lovers; they will assure me my keep, my wool, my flax, my oil and my drinks.'	7 Oui, leur mère s’est prostituée, celle qui les a conçus s’est couverte de honte. Elle a dit: “Je veux aller avec mes amants qui me donnent mon pain et mon eau, ma laine et mon lin, mon huile et ma boisson.”
8 This is why I shal block her way with thorns, and wal her in to stop her in her tracks;	8 2:10 Elle n’a pas reconnu que je lui donnais, moi, le blé, le vin nouveau et l’huile fraîche. C’est moi qui lui donnais en abondance l’argent et l’or dont elle a fait le Baal.
9 then if she chases her lovers she wil not catch them, if she looks for them she wil not find them, andthen she wil say, 'I shal go back to my first husband, I was better off then than I am now;'	9 2:11 Aussi vais-je reprendre mon blé en son temps, et mon vin nouveau en sa saison. Je lui retirerai ma laine et mon lin, tout ce qui couvrait sa nudité.
10 she had never realised before that I was the one who was giving her the grain, new wine and oil,giving her more and more silver and gold which they have spent on Baal!	10 2:12 Je vais dévoiler sa honte aux yeux de ses amants et de ma main nul ne la délivrera.
11 This is why I shal take back my grain when it is due and my new wine, when the season for it comes. Ishall withdraw my wool and my flax which were to cover her naked body,	11 2:13 Je mettrai fin à ses réjouissances: ses fêtes et ses nouvelles lunes, ses sabbats et toutes ses solennités.
12 and then display her infamy before her lovers' eyes- no one will take her from me then!	12 2:14 Elle disait de sa vigne et de son figuier: “C’est le salaire que m’ont donné mes amants”; mais moi je les dévasterai, j’en ferai une forêt et la bête des champs les dévorera.
13 I shal put an end to al her merrymaking, her festivals, her New Moons and her Sabbaths and al hersolemn feasts.	13 2:15 Je lui demanderai compte de cette ère des Baals, où elle n’a fait que brûler pour eux l’encens, où elle mettait ses bijoux, son collier pour aller retrouver ses amants, et moi, elle m’oubliait - parole de Yahvé.
14 I shal make her vines and fig trees derelict of which she used to say, 'These are the pay my loversgave me.' I shal turn them into a jungle: wild animals wil feed on them.	14 2:8 Aussi vais-je fermer son chemin avec des ronces, l’entourer d’une clôture: elle ne trouvera plus ses sentiers.
15 I mean to make her pay for the feast-days on which she burnt incense to the Baals, when she trickedherself out in her earrings and necklaces to chase after her lovers, and forget me! -declares Yahweh.	15 2:9 Elle poursuivra ses amants sans les atteindre, elle les recherchera et ne les trouvera plus. Alors elle dira: “Il me faut partir et retourner vers mon premier mari, n’étais-je pas plus heureuse alors qu’aujourd’hui?”
16 But look, I am going to seduce her and lead her into the desert and speak to her heart.	16 C’est pourquoi maintenant je vais la séduire; je la conduirai au désert et je parlerai à son cœur.
17 There I shall give her back her vineyards, and make the Vale of Achor a gateway of hope. There shewil respond as when she was young, as on the day when she came up from Egypt.	17 Je lui rendrai ses vignes, je changerai la vallée d’Akor en porte d’espérance; alors elle me répondra comme aux jours de sa jeunesse, comme au temps où elle montait du pays d’Égypte.
18 When that day comes- declares Yahweh- you wil cal me, 'My husband', no more wil you cal me, 'MyBaal'.	18 Ce jour-là, parole de Yahvé, tu diras: “Mon mari”, tu ne m’appelleras plus: “Mon Baal”.
19 I shal banish the names of the Baals from her lips and their name wil be mentioned no more.	19 J’enlèverai de sa bouche les noms des Baals, on ne prononcera plus leurs noms.
20 When that day comes I shal make a treaty for them with the wild animals, with the birds of heavenand the creeping things of the earth; I shal break the bow and the sword and warfare, and banish them from thecountry, and I wil let them sleep secure.	20 Je passerai un accord en ce jour-là avec les bêtes des champs, avec l’oiseau du ciel et le reptile de la terre. Je briserai l’arc, l’épée et la guerre, on ne les verra plus dans le pays; je ferai qu’on y vive en paix.
21 I shal betroth you to myself for ever, I shall betroth you in uprightness and justice, and faithful loveand tenderness.	21 Tu seras ma fiancée pour toujours, ce seront des fiançailles de justice, de droiture, dans la tendresse et la miséricorde.
22 Yes, I shall betroth you to myself in loyalty and in the knowledge of Yahweh.	22 Je te fiancerai à moi dans la fidélité et tu sauras qui est Yahvé.
23 When that day comes, I shal respond -declares Yahweh- I shal respond to the heavens and they willrespond to the earth	23 En ce jour-là, parole de Yahvé, je répondrai aux cieux et eux répondront à la terre.
24 and the earth wil respond to the grain, the new wine and oil, and they wil respond to Jezreel.	24 La terre répondra au blé, au vin nouveau, à l’huile fraîche, et eux répondront à Yizréel.
25 I shal sow her in the country to be mine, I shall take pity on Lo-Ruhamah, I shal tell Lo-Ammi, 'Youare my people,' and he will say, 'You are my God.'	25 Je sèmerai pour moi dans le pays; j’aurai pitié de Lo-Rouhamah; je dirai à Lo-Ammi: “Tu es mon peuple”, et lui dira: “Tu es mon Dieu”.
