Hosea 14

1 Samaria will pay the penalty for having rebel ed against her God. They wil fall by the sword, their littlechildren wil be dashed to pieces and their pregnant women disembowelled.	1 Perisca Samaria, perchè ha esacerbato il suo Dio; periscano di spada coloro, e i loro bambini siano infranti, e sventrate le donne gravide.
2 Israel, come back to Yahweh your God your guilt was the cause of your downfal .	2 Convertiti, o Israele, al Signore Dio tuo; perocché per le tue scelleraggini ti sei precipitato.
3 Provide yourself with words and come back to Yahweh. Say to him, 'Take all guilt away and give uswhat is good, instead of bulls we wil dedicate to you our lips.	3 Prendete con voi parole, e volgete vi al Signore, e ditegli: Togli tutte le iniquità, accetta questo bene, e noi ti offeriremo le ostie delle nostre labbra.
4 Assyria cannot save us, we will not ride horses any more, or say, "Our God!" to our own handiwork, foryou are the one in whom orphans find compassion.'	4 Non sarà nostro salvatore l'Assiro, non saliremo sopra i cavalli, non diremo mai più che nostri dii siano le opere di nostre mani, perchè tu avrai pietà del pupillo rimesso nelle tue mani.
5 I shal cure them of their disloyalty, I shal love them with all my heart, for my anger has turned awayfrom them.	5 Io sanerò le loro piaghe, gli amerò gratuitamente, perchè si è placato con essi il mio sdegno.
6 I shal fal like dew on Israel, he wil bloom like the lily and thrust out roots like the cedar of Lebanon;	6 Io sarò come rugiada per Israele, ed egli spunterà come giglio, e getterà sue radici come una pianta del Libano.
7 he will put out new shoots, he will have the beauty of the olive tree and the fragrance of Lebanon.	7 Si diffonderanno i suoi rami; ei sarà bello come un ulivo, e odoroso come l'incenso.
8 They will come back to live in my shade; they will grow wheat again, they wil make the vine flourish, their wine will be as famous as Lebanon's.	8 Si convertiranno, e sederanno all'ombra di lui: viveranno di frumento; si propagheranno qual vite: il loro nome sarà come il vino nel Libano.
9 What has Ephraim to do with idols any more when I hear him and watch over him? I am like anevergreen cypress, you owe your fruitfulness to me.	9 Ephraim (dirà): che ho io ornai da fare cogl'idoli? io l'esaudirò, io lo farò andare in alto come un verde abete: da me verranno i tuoi frutti.
10 Let the wise understand these words, let the intel igent grasp their meaning, for Yahweh's ways arestraight and the upright wil walk in them, but sinners wil stumble.	10 Chi è il saggio, che tali cose comprenda? chi ha intelletto per penetrarle? perocché le vie del Signore sono diritte, e i giusti le battono, ma i prevaricatori vi ricaderanno.
