Ezekiel 40

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month,fourteen years to the day from the capture of the city, the hand of Yahweh was on me. He carried me away:	1 Nel venticinquesimo anno del nostro esilio, all'inizio dell'anno, il dieci del mese, nell'anno quattordicesimo dopo l'espugnazione della città, in quello stesso giorno fu su di me la mano del Signore e mi condusse là.
2 in divine visions, he carried me away to the land of Israel and put me down on a very high mountain,on the south of which there seemed to be built a city.	2 In visioni divine mi condusse al paese d'Israele e mi posò su di un monte molto alto, sul quale c'era come una città costruita a sud;
3 He took me to it, and there I saw a man, whose appearance was like brass. He had a flax cord and ameasuring rod in his hand and was standing in the gateway.	3 mi condusse là. Ed ecco un individuo dall'apparenza bronzea, con in mano una cordicella di lino e una canna da misura; costui stava in piedi alla porta.
4 The man said to me, 'Son of man, look careful y, listen closely and pay attention to everything I showyou, since you have been brought here only for me to show it to you. Tel the House of Israel everything that yousee.'	4 Egli mi parlò: "Figlio dell'uomo, osserva e ascolta bene e poni mente a ciò che ti faccio vedere; infatti è per poterlo mostrare che fosti condotto qui. Annuncia poi tutto ciò che vedi alla casa d'Israele".
5 Now, the Temple was surrounded on all sides by an outer wall. The man was holding a measuring rodsix cubits long, each cubit a forearm and a handsbreadth. He measured the thickness of this construction -- onerod; and its height -- one rod.	5 Ecco: un muro correva, esterno, tutt'intorno al tempio. La canna in mano all'uomo era quella lunga sei cubiti, ciascuno d'un cubito e un palmo. Egli misurò lo spessore dell'edificio: una canna; e l'altezza: una canna.
6 He went to the east gate, climbed the steps and measured its threshold: one rod deep.	6 Poi andò alla porta che è rivolta a oriente, salì i gradini e misurò la soglia della porta: una canna di profondità.
7 Each guardroom one rod by one rod; and the piers between the guardrooms five cubits thick, and thethreshold of the gate inwards from the porch of the gate: one rod.	7 Le celle erano una canna di lunghezza e una di larghezza, e tra le celle c'erano cinque cubiti; e la soglia vicina all'atrio verso il tempio era larga una canna.

9 He measured the porch of the gate: eight cubits; its piers: two cubits; the porch of the gate was at theinner end.	9 i suoi pilastri: due cubiti; l'atrio della porta era dalla parte verso l'interno.
10 There were three guardrooms on each side of the east gate, al three of the same size; the piersbetween them al of the same thickness each side.	10 Le celle della porta verso oriente erano tre da una parte e tre dall'altra: ciascuna delle tre era della stessa misura; la stessa misura aveva anche ciascuno dei pilastri da una parte e dall'altra.
11 He measured the width of the entrance: ten cubits; and the width al down the gateway: thirteencubits.	11 Quindi misurò la luce della porta: dieci cubiti; la larghezza della porta: tredici cubiti;
12 There was a rail in front of the guardrooms; each rail on either side was one cubit. And theguardrooms on either side were six cubits square.	12 il parapetto davanti alle celle: un cubito da un lato e dall'altro; ogni cella misurava sei cubiti per lato.
13 He measured the width of the gate from the back wal of one guardroom to the back wall of the other;it was twenty-five cubits across, the openings being opposite each other.	13 Poi misurò il portico dal tetto di una cella al suo opposto: venticinque cubiti da un'apertura all'altra.
14 He measured the porch: twenty cubits; the court surrounded the gate on al sides.	14 Calcolò i pilastri: erano alti sessanta cubiti; dai pilastri iniziava il cortile che circondava la porta.
15 From the front of the entrance gate, to the far end of the porch of the inner gate: fifty cubits.	15 Dalla facciata della porta d'ingresso sino alla facciata della porta interna vi erano cinquanta cubiti.
16 Al round inside the gate there were trel ised windows in the guardrooms and in their piers; similarly,in the porch there were windows all round and palm trees on the piers.	16 Nelle celle e nei loro pilastri c'erano inferriate, dentro la porta, tutt'attorno, con finestre anche nell'atrio. Sui pilastri erano disegnate delle palme.
17 He then took me to the outer court, which had rooms and a paved terrace going all the way round;there were thirty rooms on this terrace.	17 Poi mi condusse nel cortile esterno. Vi erano stanze e un lastricato nel cortile tutt'attorno; trenta erano le camere sul lastricato.
18 This terrace, which came up to the sides of the gates and matched their depth, was the LowerTerrace. He measured the width of the court,	18 Il lastricato ai fianchi delle porte era largo quanto la profondità delle porte stesse: era il lastricato inferiore.
19 from the front of the lower gate to the fac ade of the inner court, outside: a hundred cubits (on theeast and on the north).	19 Misurò la lunghezza dalla porta inferiore fino al cortile interno, da fuori: cento cubiti, da oriente a settentrione.
20 He measured the length and breadth of the north gate of the outer court.	20 Della porta che è rivolta a settentrione sul cortile esterno misurò profondità e larghezza;

22 Its windows, its porch and its palm trees were of the same size as those of the east gate. 23 In the inner court there was, opposite the north gate, a gate like the one opposite the east gate. 26 and it had seven steps up to it; its porch was at the inner end and had palm trees on its piers, one oneither side.	26 C'erano sette gradini per salire verso l'interno. Aveva palme, una da una parte e una dall'altra, sui suoi pilastri.
27 The inner court had a south gate; he measured the distance southwards from one gate to the other: ahundred cubits.	27 Quanto alle porte del cortile interno da nord a sud misurò da porta a porta: cento cubiti.

32 He took me to the eastern part of the inner court and measured the gate. It was of the same size asthe others.	32 Poi mi condusse nel cortile interno verso oriente; misurò la porta: aveva le stesse misure;
33 Its guardrooms, piers and porch were of the same size as the others. 38 There was a room, the entrance to which was in the porch of the gateway, where they washed theburnt offerings.	38 C'era una stanza, con un passaggio nell'atrio della porta: là si lavavano gli olocausti.
39 And inside the porch of the gateway were slabs, two on either side, for slaughtering the burntofferings, the sacrifice for sin and the sacrifice of reparation.	39 Nell'atrio della porta c'erano due tavole da una parte e due dall'altra per sgozzarvi sopra gli olocausti, i sacrifici per il peccato e quelli di riparazione.
40 Outside, at the approach to the entrance of the north gate, were two slabs, and on the other side, atthe porch end of the gate were two slabs.	40 A ridosso dell'atrio, presso l'apertura della porta settentrionale, c'erano due tavole e altre due nell'altra parte a ridosso dell'atrio della porta.
41 There were four slabs on one side and four slabs on the other side of the gateway, eight slabs in all,on which the slaughtering was done.	41 Dunque quattro tavole da una parte e quattro dall'altra a ridosso della porta: otto tavole da macello.
42 There were also four slabs of dressed stone for the burnt offerings, a cubit and a half long, a cubitand a half wide and a cubit high, on which the instruments for slaughtering the burnt offerings and sacrifice wereplaced;	42 Inoltre vi erano quattro tavole per l'olocausto, di pietra squadrata, lunghe un cubito e mezzo, larghe un cubito e mezzo ed alte un cubito. Su di esse si posavano gli strumenti con cui si sgozzavano gli olocausti e gli altri sacrifici.
43 runnels a handsbreadth wide went al round the top, and on these slabs was put the sacrificial flesh.	43 C'erano infatti uncini di un palmo, fissati nella costruzione tutt'attorno. Sulle tavole invece si metteva la carne da offrire.
44 Then he took me into the inner court; there were two rooms in the inner court, one on the side of thenorth gate, facing south, the other on the side of the south gate, facing north.	44 Appena fuori della porta interna c'erano le stanze dei ministranti, nel cortile interno. Erano una a ridosso della porta settentrionale, con la facciata rivolta a sud e una a ridosso della porta meridionale, con la facciata rivolta a nord.
45 He told me, 'The room looking south is for the priests responsible for the service of the Temple,	45 Quello mi spiegò: la stanza con la facciata a sud è dei sacerdoti che montano la guardia al tempio
46 and the room looking north is for the priests responsible for the service of the altar. These are thesons of Zadok, those of the sons of Levi who approach Yahweh to serve him.'	46 e la stanza con la facciata rivolta a nord è dei sacerdoti che montano la guardia all'altare: sono i figli di Zadòk, quelli, tra i figli di Levi, che possono avvicinarsi al Signore per servirlo.
47 He measured the court; it was a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide, a square with thealtar standing in front of the Temple.	47 Quindi misurò il cortile: era un quadrato di cento cubiti di lunghezza e cento di larghezza. L'altare era dirimpetto al tempio.
48 He took me to the Ulam of the Temple and measured the piers of the Ulam: five cubits either side;and the width of the entrance was three cubits either side.	48 Mi condusse quindi nell'atrio del tempio e misurò i pilastri: cinque cubiti di spessore da una parte e cinque cubiti dall'altra; la larghezza della porta poi era di quattordici cubiti e i lati della porta erano di tre cubiti da una parte e tre cubiti dall'altra.
49 The length of the Ulam was twenty cubits and its width twelve cubits. There were ten steps leadingup to it, and there were columns by the piers, one on either side.	49 La larghezza dell'atrio era di venti cubiti e la lunghezza di dodici cubiti.
