1 In the seventh year, on the tenth day of the fifth month, some of the elders of Israel came to consultYahweh and were sitting with me,	1 Történt pedig a hetedik esztendőben, az ötödik hónapban, a hónap tizedik napján, hogy Izrael vénei közül néhányan eljöttek megkérdezni az Urat, és leültek előttem.
2 when the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	2 Akkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
3 'Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Have you come toconsult me? As I live, I wil not be consulted by you -- declares the Lord Yahweh."	3 »Emberfia, szólj Izrael véneihez és mondd nekik: Így szól az Úr Isten: Vajon azért jöttetek-e, hogy engem kérdezzetek? Életemre mondom, én, az Úr Isten: Nem felelek nektek!
4 'Are you ready to judge them? Are you ready to judge them, son of man? Confront them with theloathsome practices of their ancestors.	4 Ítéletet mondasz-e felettük, emberfia, ítéletet mondasz-e felettük? Tárd eléjük atyáik utálatosságait!«
5 Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: On the day when I chose Israel, when I pledged my word to theHouse of Jacob, I made myself known to them in Egypt; I pledged my word to them and said: I am Yahweh yourGod.	5 Ezt mondd nekik: »Így szól az Úr Isten: Azon a napon, amelyen Izraelt kiválasztottam, esküre emeltem kezemet Jákob háza ivadékának, és kinyilatkoztattam magamat nekik Egyiptom földjén. Esküre emeltem kezemet nekik e szavakkal: Én vagyok az Úr, a ti Istenetek!
6 That day I pledged them my word that I would bring them out of Egypt to a country which I hadreconnoitred for them, a country flowing with milk and honey, and the loveliest of them al .	6 Azon a napon esküre emeltem kezemet értük, hogy kivezessem őket Egyiptom földjéről arra a földre, amelyet nekik kiválasztottam, amely tejjel-mézzel folyik, és a legkiválóbb minden ország között.
7 And I said to them: Each of you must reject the horrors which attract you; do not pol ute yourselveswith the foul idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God.	7 Így szóltam hozzájuk: Mindenki vesse el magától szeme botrányait, és Egyiptom bálványaival ne szennyezzétek be magatokat; én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek!
8 But they rebel ed against me and would not listen to me. Not one of them rejected the horrors whichattracted them; they did not give up the foul idols of Egypt. I then resolved to vent my fury on them, to sate myanger on them in Egypt.	8 De ők haragra ingereltek engem és nem akartak rám hallgatni; senki sem vetette el magától szeme utálatosságait, sem Egyiptom bálványait nem hagyták el. Erre elhatároztam, hogy kiöntöm rájuk bosszúságomat és kitöltöm rajtuk haragomat Egyiptom földjének közepette.
9 But respect for my own name kept me from letting it be profaned in the eyes of the nations amongwhom they were living, and before whom I had made myself known to them and promised to bring them out ofEgypt.	9 Az én nevemért azonban mégis úgy cselekedtem, hogy azt ne érje gyalázat azok előtt a nemzetek előtt, amelyek között voltak és amelyek előtt kinyilatkoztattam magamat, hogy kivezessem őket Egyiptom földjéről.
10 So I brought them out of Egypt and led them into the desert.	10 Kihoztam tehát őket Egyiptom földjéről és kivezettem őket a pusztába.
11 I gave them my laws and taught them my judgements, in whose observance people find life.	11 Nekik adtam parancsaimat és kinyilatkoztattam nekik végzéseimet, amelyek által az embernek élete lesz, ha megtartja őket.
12 And I also gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between me and them, so that they might know that I,Yahweh, am the one who sanctifies them.	12 S még szombatjaimat is megadtam nekik, hogy jelek legyenek köztem és közöttük, és ők tudják, hogy én, az Úr vagyok az, aki megszentelte őket.
13 The House of Israel, however, rebel ed against me in the desert; they refused to keep my laws, theyscorned my judgements, in whose observance people find life, and they grossly profaned my Sabbaths. I thenresolved to vent my fury on them in the desert and destroy them.	13 De Izrael háza haragra ingerelt engem a pusztában; parancsaim szerint nem jártak, végzéseimet megvetették, amelyek által az embernek élete van, ha megtartja őket, és szombatjaimat nagyon megsértették. Elhatároztam tehát, hogy kiöntöm rájuk haragomat a pusztában és kiirtom őket.
14 But respect for my own name kept me from letting it be profaned in the eyes of the nations, beforewhom I had brought them out.	14 Az én nevemért azonban mégis úgy cselekedtem, hogy azt ne érje gyalázat a nemzetek előtt, amelyek közül kivezettem őket, azok szeme láttára.
15 Even so, I pledged them my word in the desert that I would not lead them to the country which I hadgiven them, a country flowing with milk and honey, and the loveliest of them al ,	15 Mégis felemeltem ellenük kezemet a pusztában, hogy ne vezessem be őket arra a tejjel-mézzel folyó földre, amelyet nekik szántam, amely a legkiválóbb minden ország között,
16 since they had scorned my judgements, had refused to keep my laws and had profaned mySabbaths, their hearts being attached to foul idols.	16 mert végzéseimet megvetették, parancsaim szerint nem jártak, és szombatjaimat megszegték, mert szívük bálványok után járt.
17 In spite of this, I took pity on them; I refrained from destroying them and did not make an end of themin the desert.	17 Szemem azonban irgalmas volt hozzájuk, hogy meg ne öljem őket; ezért nem is irtottam ki őket a pusztában.
18 "I said to their children in the desert: Do not follow the laws of your ancestors, do not practise theirjudgements, do not defile yourselves with their foul idols.	18 De így szóltam fiaikhoz a pusztában: Ne járjatok atyáitok parancsai szerint és szokásaikat se tartsátok meg, se bálványaikkal ne szennyezzétek be magatokat.
19 I am Yahweh your God. Keep my laws, respect my judgements and practise them.	19 Én, az Úr, vagyok a ti Istenetek! Járjatok parancsaim szerint, tartsátok meg végzéseimet és cselekedjetek szerintük,
20 Keep my Sabbaths holy; let them be a sign between me and you, so that people may know that I amYahweh your God.	20 szenteljétek meg szombatjaimat, hogy jelek legyenek köztem és köztetek, és tudjátok meg, hogy én, az Úr vagyok a ti Istenetek.
21 Their children, however, rebel ed against me; they refused to keep my laws, they did not respect orpractise my judgements, which must be practised by al who want to live; they profaned my Sabbaths. I thenresolved to vent my fury on them, to sate my anger on them in the desert.	21 De a fiak is haragra ingereltek engem; parancsaim szerint nem jártak és végzéseimet nem tartották meg, hogy szerintük cselekedjenek, pedig általuk az embernek élete van, ha megtartja őket; és szombatjaimat megszentségtelenítették. Megfenyegettem ugyan őket, hogy kiöntöm rájuk bosszúmat és kitöltöm rajtuk haragomat a pusztaságban,
22 But I restrained my hand; respect for my own name kept me from letting it be profaned in the eyes ofthe nations, before whom I had brought them out.	22 de visszavontam kezemet, és az én nevemért úgy cselekedtem, hogy ne érje azt megszentségtelenítés a nemzetek előtt, amelyek közül kihoztam őket, azok szeme láttára.
23 Once again, however, I pledged them my word that I would scatter them throughout the nations anddisperse them in foreign countries,	23 Ismételten esküre emeltem kezemet ellenük a pusztaságban, hogy szétszórjam őket a nemzetek közé és szélnek eresszem az országokba,
24 because they had not fol owed my judgements but had rejected my laws and profaned my Sabbaths,their eyes being fastened on the foul idols of their ancestors.	24 azért, mert végzéseim szerint nem cselekedtek, parancsaimat megvetették, szombatjaimat megszegték, és szemüket apáik bálványaira irányították.
25 And for this reason I gave them laws that were not good and judgements by which they could neverlive;	25 Azért én is adtam nekik nem jó parancsokat, és olyan végzéseket, amelyek nem szolgálnak nekik életükre.
26 and I pol uted them with their own offerings, making them sacrifice every first-born son in order to filthem with revulsion, so that they would know that I am Yahweh."	26 Fertőzötté tettem őket ajándékaik által, amikor bűneikért bemutatták mindazt áldozatul, ami a méhet megnyitja, hogy megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr.
27 'For this reason, son of man, speak to the House of Israel. Say to them, "The Lord Yahweh says this:Here is another way by which your ancestors outraged me by their infidelity.	27 Ezért, emberfia, szólj Izrael házához és mondd nekik: Így szól az Úr Isten: Még azzal is káromoltak engem atyáitok, hogy gúnyosan megvetettek,
28 Once I had brought them into the country which I had pledged my word to give them, they then sawal sorts of high hil s, al kinds of leafy trees, and there they performed their sacrifices and made offerings thatprovoked my anger; there they set out their pleasing smel and poured their libations.	28 amikor bevezettem őket abba az országba, amelyre nézve esküre emeltem kezemet, hogy nekik adom. Bárhol láttak egy kiemelkedő dombot és bárhol egy lombos fát, ott bemutatták áldozataikat, ott felajánlották haragra ingerlő ajándékaikat, és ott elégették kellemes illatszereiket és kiöntötték italáldozataikat.
29 I then said to them: What is this high place where you go? And they gave, and stil give it, the nameof Bamah."	29 Azt mondtam nekik: Miféle magaslat az, ahová mentek? Ezért is nevezik azt magaslatnak mind a mai napig.
30 'So, say to the House of Israel, "The Lord Yahweh says this: If you are pol uting yourselves as yourancestors did by fornicating with their horrors-	30 Ezért mondd Izrael házának: Így szól az Úr Isten: Valóban atyáitok útján szennyezitek be magatokat, és az ő utálatosságaik után jártok parázna módon.
31 for by offering your gifts and by burning your children as sacrifices, you have been pol utingyourselves with al your foul idols to this very day -- shal I let myself be consulted by you, House of Israel? As Ilive -- declares Lord Yahweh -- I shal not let myself be consulted by you.	31 Amikor ajándékaitokat bemutatjátok, amikor fiaitokat átviszitek a tűzön, beszennyezitek magatokat minden bálványotokkal mind a mai napig. S még én adjak választ nektek, Izrael háza? Életemre mondom, én, az Úr Isten: Nem adok nektek választ!
32 And what you sometimes imagine wil never be so, when you say: We shal be like the peoples, thetribes of foreign lands, worshipping wood and stone.	32 Nem történik meg az, amit elmétekben gondoltok, amikor azt mondjátok: ‘Olyanok leszünk, mint a nemzetek és mint a föld nemzetségei, hogy fát és követ tiszteljünk!’
33 As I live I swear it -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- I am the one who will reign over you, with a stronghand and outstretched arm, once my fury is sated.	33 Életemre mondom, én, az Úr Isten: Erős kézzel, kinyújtott karral és haragom kiöntésével uralkodom majd rajtatok!
34 With a strong hand and outstretched arm, once my fury is sated, I shall bring you back from thepeoples and gather you again from the countries throughout which you have been scattered.	34 Kivezetlek titeket azok közül a népek közül, és összegyűjtelek azokból az országokból, amelyekbe széjjel vagytok szórva. Hatalmas kézzel, kinyújtott karral és haragom kiöntésével uralkodom majd rajtatok!
35 I shal lead you into the desert of the nations and there I shal judge you face to face.	35 Elvezetlek titeket a népek pusztaságába, és ott perbe szállok veletek szemtől szembe.
36 As I judged your ancestors in the desert of Egypt, so wil I judge you -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	36 Amint perbe szálltam atyáitokkal Egyiptom földjének pusztaságában, úgy szállok majd veletek is perbe – mondja az Úr Isten. –
37 I shal make you pass under the crook, bring you to respect the covenant	37 Jogarom alá vetlek és a szövetség kötelékeibe vonlak titeket.
38 and rid you of the rebels who have revolted against me; I shall bring them out of the country wherethey are staying, but they will not enter the country of Israel, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	38 Kiválogatom közületek a törvényszegőket és istenteleneket, és lakóhelyükről kivezetem őket, de Izrael földjére nem lépnek be; és megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr!
39 House of Israel, Lord Yahweh says this: Go on, all of you, worship your foul idols, but later we shal see if you don't listen to me! Then you wil stop profaning my holy name with your offerings and your foul idols.	39 Ti pedig, Izrael háza – így szól az Úr Isten –, csak járjon mindenki a maga bálványai után és szolgáljon nekik! De azután, ha már nem hallgattok rám, ne gyalázzátok meg többé szent nevemet ajándékaitokkal és bálványaitokkal!
40 For on my holy mountain, on the high mountain of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- is where thewhole House of Israel, everyone in the country, wil worship me. There I shal accept and there expect yourpresents, your choicest offering and al your consecrated gifts.	40 Az én szent hegyemen, Izrael magas hegyén – mondja az Úr Isten –, ott szolgáljon nekem Izrael egész háza, mindannyian – mondom – azon a földön; ott majd kedvemre lesznek. Ott kívánom majd zsengéiteket és tizedeitek legjavát minden szent ajándékotokkal.
41 I shal welcome you like a pleasing smell when I bring you back from the peoples and gather youfrom the countries throughout which you have been scattered, and through you I shal display my holiness for althe nations to see;	41 Kellemes illatként fogadlak titeket, amikor majd kihozlak titeket a népek közül, és összegyűjtelek azokból az országokból, amelyekbe szét vagytok szórva, és megmutatom rajtatok szentségemet a nemzetek szeme láttára.
42 and you wil know that I am Yahweh, when I bring you back to the soil of Israel, to the country which Ipledged my word to give to your ancestors.	42 Ti pedig megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr, amikor majd bevezetlek titeket Izrael földjére, arra a földre, amelyért esküre felemeltem kezemet, hogy atyáitoknak adom.
43 There you wil remember your past behaviour and al the actions by which you have defiledyourselves, and you wil loathe yourselves for al the wrongs which you have committed.	43 Akkor visszagondoltok majd útjaitokra és minden gonoszságtokra, amellyel beszennyeztétek magatokat. Megundorodtok majd önmagatoktól a saját színetek előtt minden gonoszságtok miatt, amit elkövettetek.
44 And you wil know that I am Yahweh, when I treat you as respect for my own name requires, and notas your wicked behaviour and corrupt actions deserve, House of Israel -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	44 És megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr, amikor majd jót teszek veletek – a saját nevemért és nem a ti gonosz útjaitok szerint, sem pedig igen nagy istentelenségeitek szerint, Izrael háza« – mondja az Úr Isten!
