Jeremiah 41

1 In the seventh month, however, Ishmael son of Nethaniah son of Elishama, who was of royal descent,came with officers of the king and ten men to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah. And as they were taking theirmeal together, there at Mizpah,	1 Nel settimo mese, Ismaele figlio di Natania, figlio di Elisama, di stirpe reale, e i grandi del re, con dieci uomini andarono a trovare Godolia, figlio di Ahicam, in Masfa, e in Masfa mangiarono insieme.
2 Ishmael son of Nethaniah stood up with his ten men, and attacking Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son ofShaphan, with their swords, they kil ed the man whom the king of Babylon had made governor of the country.	2 Ma Ismaele, figlio di Natania, e i dieci uomini che eran con lui si alzarono e uccisero colla spada Godolia, figlio di Ahicam figlio di Safan, uccisero colui che dal re di Babilonia era stato fatto governatore del paese.

8 There were ten of them, however, who said to Ishmael, 'Do not kil us: we have stocks of wheat andbarley, oil and honey, hidden away in the fields.' 12 they mustered all their men and set out to attack Ishmael son of Nethaniah. They caught up with himat the great Pool of Gibeon.	12 presero tutta la loro gente e andarono a combattere contro Ismaele figlio di Natania, e lo trovarono presso la gran vasca di Gabaon.
13 At the sight of Johanan son of Kareah and al the military leaders with him, al the people with Ishmaelwere delighted.	13 Quando tutto il popolo che era con Ismaele vide Iohanan, figlio di Caree, e tutti i capi dei guerrieri che eran con lui si rallegrò.
14 Al the people whom Ishmael had taken as prisoners from Mizpah turned about, went back and joinedJohanan son of Kareah.	14 E voltosi indietro tutto il popolo, che Ismaele aveva fatto prigioniero in Masfa, ritornò e andò con Iohanan figlio di Caree.
15 Ishmael son of Nethaniah, however, escaped from Johanan with eight of his men and fled to theAmmonites.	15 Ma Ismaele, figlio di Natania, fuggì con otto uomini davanti a Iohanan e andò tra i figli di Ammon.
16 Johanan son of Kareah and al the military leaders with him then ral ied al the remaining peoplewhom Ishmael son of Nethaniah had taken as prisoners from Mizpah after kil ing Gedaliah son of Ahikam: men --fighting men-women, children and eunuchs, whom they brought back from Gibeon.	16 Così Iohanan, figlio di Caree, e tutti i capi dei guerrieri che eran con lui ripresero tutto il resto del popolo che Ismaele, figlio di Natania, aveva portato via da Masfa, dopo avere ucciso Godolia figlio di Ahicam, e ricondussero da Gabaon gli uomini atti alla guerra, le donne, i fanciulli e gli eunuchi,
