Jeremiah 33

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Jeremiah was stil confined to the Court of the Guard when the word of Yahweh came to him a secondtime, as follows,	1 Pela segunda vez, enquanto Jeremias ainda estava detido no átrio da prisão, foi-lhe dirigida a palavra do Senhor nestes termos:
2 'Yahweh who made the earth, who formed it and set it firm -- Yahweh is his name -- says this,	2 Eis o que diz o Senhor que criou {a terra}, que a modelou e consolidou e cujo nome é Javé:
3 "Call to me and I wil answer you; I wil tell you great secrets of which you know nothing.	3 invoca-me, e te responderei, revelando-te grandes coisas misteriosas que ignoras.
4 For this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about the houses of this city and the palaces of the kingsof Judah which are about to be destroyed by means of the earthworks and the sword;	4 Portanto, eis o que diz o Senhor, Deus de Israel, a propósito das casas da cidade e dos palácios dos reis de Judá que foram demolidos para dar lugar às fortificações e às armas dos caldeus,
5 about those now fighting the Chaldaeans, only to fill the city with corpses, those whom I haveslaughtered in my furious anger, those whose wickedness has made me hide my face from this city:	5 vindos para combater, e para enchê-las de cadáveres dos homens que firo em minha cólera, e por cuja malícia desviei minha face dessa cidade.
6 Look, I shal bring them remedy and cure; I shal cure them and reveal a new order of peace and loyaltyto them.	6 Vou pensar-lhes as feridas e curá-las, e proporcionar-lhes abundância de felicidade e segurança.
7 I shal bring back the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel and shal rebuild them as before.	7 Transformarei a sorte de Judá e de Israel, e fá-los-ei voltar ao que eram outrora.
8 I shal cleanse them of al their guilt, by which they have offended me, I shal forgive al their guiltyactions, by which they have offended me and rebelled against me.	8 Purificá-los-ei de todos os pecados que contra mim cometeram, e lhes perdoarei todas as iniqüidades de que se tornaram culpados, revoltando-se contra mim.
9 And, for me, Jerusalem wil become a name of joy and praise and pride for all the nations on earth tosee; when they hear of al the prosperity that I shal give, they wil be seized with fear and trembling at al theprosperity and the peace that I provide for it."	9 Será para mim motivo de alegria, felicidade e glória diante de todas as nações da terra, o saberem todo o bem com que agraciei meu povo. Ficarão tomadas de receio e temor por causa desse bem e da prosperidade de que vou cumulá-lo.
10 'Yahweh says this, "In this place of which you now say: It is a ruin, without human or animal, in thetowns of Judah and desolate streets of Jerusalem where there is neither human nor animal, once more wil beheard	10 Eis o que diz o Senhor: neste lugar, do qual dizeis que não passa de um deserto sem homens nem animais; nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém devastadas, onde homem algum habita, nem um animal se encontra, ouvir-se-ão novamente
11 shouts of rejoicing and mirth, the voices of bridegroom and bride, and the singing of those who bringthanksgiving sacrifices to the Temple of Yahweh: Give thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth, for Yahweh is good, for hisfaithful love is everlasting. For I shal bring back the country's captives, as before, Yahweh says."	11 gritos de alegria, cânticos de júbilo, a voz do esposo e da esposa, aclamações daqueles que cantarão: louvai o Senhor dos exércitos, pois que ele é bom e eterna a sua misericórdia, ao apresentarem no templo seus sacrifícios de ação de graças, pois que restituirei a terra tal qual era outrora - oráculo do Senhor.
12 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In this ruinous place, without human or animal, in al its towns, onceagain there wil be pastures for the shepherds to rest their flocks.	12 Eis o que diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Neste lugar que é deserto, sem homens nem animais, e em todas as suas cidades, haverá novamente abrigos para os pastores que apascentarão seus rebanhos.
13 In the towns of the highlands, of the lowlands and the Negeb, in the territory of Benjamin, in thedistricts round Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, once again the flocks shal pass under the hand ofsomeone who counts them, Yahweh says.	13 Nas cidades das montanhas, nas da planície e nas do Negeb, na terra de Benjamim, nos arredores de Jerusalém e nas cidades de Judá hão de passar ainda rebanhos pela mão do que os conta - oráculo do Senhor.
14 "Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal fulfil the promise of happiness I made tothe House of Israel and the House of Judah:	14 Eis que outros dias virão.
15 In those days and at that time, I shal make an upright Branch grow for David, who wil do what is just and upright in the country.	15 E nesses dias e nesses tempos farei nascer de Davi um rebento justo que exercerá o direito e a eqüidade na terra.
16 In those days Judah will triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name the city will be cal ed:Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice."	16 Naqueles dias e naqueles tempos viverá Jerusalém em segurança e será chamada Javé-nossa-justiça.
17 'For Yahweh says this, "David wil never lack a male descendant to occupy the throne of the House ofIsrael,	17 Porque diz o Senhor: Não faltará jamais a Davi um sucessor para ocupar o trono da Casa de Israel.
18 nor will the levitical priests ever lack male descendants to stand before me and offer the burntoffering, to burn the cereal offering and offer sacrifice every day." '	18 E, diante de mim, não faltarão jamais descendentes aos sacerdotes e aos levitas para oferecer os holocaustos, queimar as oferendas e celebrar o sacrifício cotidiano.
19 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,	19 Nestes termos foi a palavra do Senhor dirigida a Jeremias:
20 'Yahweh says this, "If you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night sothat day and night do not come at their due time,	20 Eis o que disse o Senhor: se puderdes romper o meu pacto com o dia e a noite, de sorte que dia e noite não surjam no devido tempo,
21 then my covenant with David my servant might also be broken and he would have no son to reign onhis throne, and so also might my covenant with the levitical priests, who are my ministers.	21 então poderá ser rompido o pacto que fiz com Davi, meu servo, e não terá ele filho que lhe ocupe o trono, e com os sacerdotes e levitas, meus ministros.
22 As surely as the array of heaven cannot be counted, nor the sand of the sea be measured, so surelyshall I increase the heirs of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me." '	22 À semelhança do exército celestial, que se não pode enumerar, e como a areia do mar, que se não pode medir, assim multiplicarei a posteridade de Davi, meu servo, e os levitas, meus ministros.
23 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,	23 Foi a palavra do Senhor dirigida a Jeremias nestes termos:
24 'Have you not noticed what these people say, "The two families which Yahweh chose he has nowrejected"? So they despise my people, whom they no longer think of as a nation.	24 Não reparaste nas palavras que proferem esses homens? As duas famílias, dizem eles, que pelo Senhor haviam sido eleitas, foram por ele repelidas! É assim que desprezam meu povo, a ponto de, a seus olhos, não constituir mais uma nação.
25 Yahweh says this, "If I have not created day and night and fixed the laws governing heaven and earth,	25 Eis o que diz o Senhor: se não firmei pacto com o dia e a noite, nem regulei as leis do céu e da terra,
26 why, then I shal reject the descendants of Jacob and of David my servant and cease to choose rulersfrom his descendants for the heirs of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! For I shal bring back their captives and takepity on them." '	26 então poderei rejeitar a raça de Jacó e de Davi, meu servo, e abster-me de escolher da sua descendência os chefes para a raça de Abraão, de Isaac e de Jacó! Pois hei de lhes melhorar a sorte, e deles me apiedarei.
