Jeremiah 33

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Jeremiah was stil confined to the Court of the Guard when the word of Yahweh came to him a secondtime, as follows,	1 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías por segunda vez, mientras todavía estaba detenido en el patio de la guardia, en estos términos:
2 'Yahweh who made the earth, who formed it and set it firm -- Yahweh is his name -- says this,	2 Así habla el Señor que hizo la tierra y la formó para que subsistiera –¡su nombre es el Señor!–:
3 "Call to me and I wil answer you; I wil tell you great secrets of which you know nothing.	3 Invócame y yo te responderé, y te anunciaré cosas grandes e impenetrables, que tú no conocías.
4 For this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about the houses of this city and the palaces of the kingsof Judah which are about to be destroyed by means of the earthworks and the sword;	4 Porque así habla el Señor, el Dios de Israel, acerca de las casas de esta ciudad y de las casas de los reyes de Judá, derribadas para levantar terraplenes y empalizadas,
5 about those now fighting the Chaldaeans, only to fill the city with corpses, those whom I haveslaughtered in my furious anger, those whose wickedness has made me hide my face from this city:	5 a fin de combatir a los caldeos y llenar la ciudad con los cadáveres de los hombres que yo herí en mi ira y en mi furor, porque oculté mi rostro a esta ciudad a causa de todas sus maldades:
6 Look, I shal bring them remedy and cure; I shal cure them and reveal a new order of peace and loyaltyto them.	6 Yo voy a cicatrizar su llaga y la voy a sanar; los sanaré y les descubriré tesoros de paz y seguridad.
7 I shal bring back the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel and shal rebuild them as before.	7 Cambiaré la suerte de Judá y la suerte de Israel, y los reconstruiré como al principio.
8 I shal cleanse them of al their guilt, by which they have offended me, I shal forgive al their guiltyactions, by which they have offended me and rebelled against me.	8 Los purificaré de toda la iniquidad con que pecaron contra mí, les perdonaré todas las iniquidades con que pecaron y se rebelaron contra mí.
9 And, for me, Jerusalem wil become a name of joy and praise and pride for all the nations on earth tosee; when they hear of al the prosperity that I shal give, they wil be seized with fear and trembling at al theprosperity and the peace that I provide for it."	9 Jerusalén será para mí un nombre gozoso, un honor y una gloria, entre todas las naciones de la tierra, que oirán todo el bien que yo les hago: ellas temerán y temblarán por todo el bienestar y toda la paz que les concedo.
10 'Yahweh says this, "In this place of which you now say: It is a ruin, without human or animal, in thetowns of Judah and desolate streets of Jerusalem where there is neither human nor animal, once more wil beheard	10 Así habla el Señor: En este lugar del que ustedes dicen: «Está desierto, sin hombres ni animales», en las ciudades de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalén, que están devastadas, sin hombres ni habitantes ni animales, se oirá de nuevo
11 shouts of rejoicing and mirth, the voices of bridegroom and bride, and the singing of those who bringthanksgiving sacrifices to the Temple of Yahweh: Give thanks to Yahweh Sabaoth, for Yahweh is good, for hisfaithful love is everlasting. For I shal bring back the country's captives, as before, Yahweh says."	11 el grito de alegría y el grito de júbilo, el canto del esposo y el canto de la esposa, y el canto de los que dicen, mientras presentan el sacrificio de alabanza en la Casa del Señor: «Den gracias al Señor de los ejércitos, porque es bueno el Señor, porque es eterno su amor». Sí, yo cambiaré la suerte de este país, y será como al principio, dice el Señor.
12 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "In this ruinous place, without human or animal, in al its towns, onceagain there wil be pastures for the shepherds to rest their flocks.	12 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: En este lugar que está desierto, sin hombres ni animales, y en todas sus ciudades, habrá de nuevo un redil donde los pastores harán descansar a sus rebaños.
13 In the towns of the highlands, of the lowlands and the Negeb, in the territory of Benjamin, in thedistricts round Jerusalem and in the towns of Judah, once again the flocks shal pass under the hand ofsomeone who counts them, Yahweh says.	13 En todas las ciudades de la Montaña, en las ciudades de la Sefelá, en las ciudades del Négueb, en el país de Benjamín, en los alrededores de Jerusalén y en las ciudades de Judá, las ovejas pasarán de nuevo bajo las manos del que las recuenta, dice el Señor.
14 "Look, the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when I shal fulfil the promise of happiness I made tothe House of Israel and the House of Judah:	14 Llegarán los días –oráculo del Señor– en que yo cumpliré la promesa que pronuncié acerca de la casa de Israel y la casa de Judá:
15 In those days and at that time, I shal make an upright Branch grow for David, who wil do what is just and upright in the country.	15 En aquellos días y en aquel tiempo, haré brotar para David un germen justo, y él practicará la justicia y el derecho en el país.
16 In those days Judah will triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name the city will be cal ed:Yahweh-is-our-Saving-Justice."	16 En aquellos días, estará a salvo Judá y Jerusalén habitará segura. Y la llamarán así: «El Señor es nuestra justicia».
17 'For Yahweh says this, "David wil never lack a male descendant to occupy the throne of the House ofIsrael,	17 Porque así habla el Señor: Nunca le faltará a David un sucesor que se siente en el trono de la casa de Israel.
18 nor will the levitical priests ever lack male descendants to stand before me and offer the burntoffering, to burn the cereal offering and offer sacrifice every day." '	18 Y a los sacerdotes levitas nunca les faltará un descendiente que esté delante de mi para ofrecer el holocausto, hacer quemar la oblación y presentar el sacrificio cada día.
19 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,	19 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías en estos términos:
20 'Yahweh says this, "If you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night sothat day and night do not come at their due time,	20 Así habla el Señor: Si ustedes pueden romper mi alianza con el día y mi alianza con la noche, de manera que el día y la noche no aparezcan más a su tiempo,
21 then my covenant with David my servant might also be broken and he would have no son to reign onhis throne, and so also might my covenant with the levitical priests, who are my ministers.	21 entonces también se romperá mi alianza con mi servidor David, de manera que no tenga más un hijo que reine sobre su trono, y mi alianza con los sacerdotes levitas, mis ministros.
22 As surely as the array of heaven cannot be counted, nor the sand of the sea be measured, so surelyshall I increase the heirs of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me." '	22 Así como no se puede contar el ejército del cielo, ni medir la arena del mar, así multiplicaré la descendencia de David, mi servidor, y a los levitas, que son mis ministros.
23 The word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah as fol ows,	23 La palabra del Señor llegó a Jeremías en estos términos:
24 'Have you not noticed what these people say, "The two families which Yahweh chose he has nowrejected"? So they despise my people, whom they no longer think of as a nation.	24 ¿No ves lo que dice esta gente: «A las dos familias que había elegido, el Señor las ha rechazado»? Así desprecian a mi pueblo, y ya no lo consideran una nación.
25 Yahweh says this, "If I have not created day and night and fixed the laws governing heaven and earth,	25 Así habla el Señor: Si yo no establecí mi alianza con el día y con la noche, si no fijé el ordenamiento del cielo y de la tierra,
26 why, then I shal reject the descendants of Jacob and of David my servant and cease to choose rulersfrom his descendants for the heirs of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! For I shal bring back their captives and takepity on them." '	26 entonces también rechazaré a la descendencia de Jacob y de David, mi servidor, no tomando de ella jefes para el linaje de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob. Pero no, yo cambiaré su suerte y me compadeceré de ellos.
