Jeremiah 21

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh when King Zedekiah sent Pashhur son of Malchiah tohim, with the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah, to say this,	1 - Parola che fu comunicata dal Signore a Geremia, quando il re Sedecia mandò a lui Passur, figlio di Melchia, e Sofonia, figlio di Maasia sacerdote per dirgli:
2 'Please consult Yahweh for us, since Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is making war on us: perhapsYahweh wil work one of his many miracles for us and force him to withdraw.'	2 «Consulta per noi il Signore, perchè Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia combatte contro di noi, se mai il Signore volesse operare a pro di noi in virtù di tutti i suoi miracoli, da costringerlo a ritirarsi da noi».
3 Jeremiah said to them, 'Take this answer to Zedekiah,	3 E Geremia disse loro: «Direte a Sedecia questo:
4 "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: I shal bring back the weapons of war which you are now carrying,and with which you are fighting the king of Babylon and the Chaldaeans now besieging you; from outside thewal s, I shal stack them in the centre of this city.	4 - Il Signore Dio d'Israele dice così: "Ecco che io farò retrocedere i bellici strumenti che sono nelle vostre mani coi quali voi combattete contro il re di Babilonia e contro i Caldei che vi assediano fuor della cerchia delle mura, e li radunerò nel mezzo di questa città.
5 And I shal fight against you myself with outstretched hand and mighty arm, in anger, fury and greatwrath.	5 E vi sconfiggerò io collo stendere della mia mano e colla possanza del mio braccio e con furore e sdegno e ira grande.
6 I shal strike down the inhabitants of this city, human and animal; they will die of a great plague.	6 E colpirò coloro che abitano in questa città, gli uomini e gli animali d'una gran pestilenza morranno.
7 Then, Yahweh declares, I shall deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials, the people and those ofthis city who have escaped the plague, the sword, or the famine, into the clutches of Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, into the clutches of their enemies and into the clutches of those determined to kill them; mercilessly,relentlessly, pitilessly, he wil put them to the sword."	7 E dopo questo, dice il Signore, Sedecia re di Giuda e i suoi servi e il suo popolo e quelli che in questa città saranno sopravvissuti alla peste, alla spada e alla fame, darò in mano a Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia e in mano dei loro nemici e di coloro che cercano la loro vita, e li metterà a fil di spada inflessibilmente senza remissione, nè misericordia".
8 'And you must say to this people, "Yahweh says this: Look, I offer you a choice between the way of lifeand the way of death.	8 E a questo popolo dirai: "Così dice il Signore: Ecco che io metto dinanzi a voi la via della vita e la via della morte.
9 Anyone who stays in this city wil die by sword, by famine, or by plague; but anyone who leaves it andsurrenders to the Chaldaeans now besieging you will live; he wil escape with his life.	9 Chi sarà dimorato in questa città morirà di spada, di fame e di peste, chi uscirà e si arrenderà ai Caldei che vi assediano, vivrà e ne riporterà salva la vita.
10 For I am determined on disaster, and not prosperity, for this city, Yahweh declares. It wil be handedover to the king of Babylon, and he wil burn it down." '	10 Perchè io ho fissato il mio sguardo sopra questa città pel suo male e non pel suo bene, dice il Signore, sarà data in mano del re di Babilonia ed egli la incenerirà nel fuoco".
11 To the royal House of Judah. Listen to the word of Yahweh,	11 E alla casa reale di Giuda dirai: " Udite la parola del Signore,
12 House of David! Yahweh says this: Each morning give fair judgement, rescue anyone who has beenwronged from the hands of his oppressor, or else my wrath will leap out like a fire, it wil burn and no one will beable to quench it, because of the wickedness of your actions.	12 voi della casa di David! Così dice il Signore: Siate solleciti della giustizia per tempo e liberate dalle mani del calunniatore la gente oppressa colla violenza, affinchè non scoppi come fuoco la mia indignazione e divampi, nè alcuno la possa estinguere a causa della malvagità dei vostri costumi!".
13 My quarrel is with you, resident of the val ey, Rock-in-the-Plain, Yahweh declares, with you that say,'Who would dare attack us and enter our lairs?'	13 Eccomi a te, che siedi sulla valle dirupata e sulla campagna! Dice il Signore, a voi che dite: "Chi ci colpirà e chi penetrerà entro alle nostre dimore?".
14 I shal punish you as your actions deserve, Yahweh declares, I shal set fire to its forest and it willdevour all around it.	14 Ma io vi visiterò col castigo dovuto alle vostre azioni, dice il Signore, e accenderò un fuoco nel suo bosco e divorerà ogni cosa nel suo circuito-».
