Jeremiah 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Your uprightness is too great, Yahweh, for me to dispute with you. But I should like to discuss somepoints of justice with you: Why is it that the way of the wicked prospers? Why do al treacherous people thrive?	1 Tu sei troppo giusto, o Signore, perchè io possa disputare contro di te, pure di cose giuste vo' parlarti: « Perchè la via degli empi trionfa, e son felici tutti gli empi, i malfattori?
2 You plant them, they take root, they flourish, yes, and bear fruit. You are on their lips, yet far from theirheart.	2 Tu li piantasti ed essi han barbicato, e prosperano e fruttificano, tu sei vicino alla loro bocca e lontano dal loro cuore.
3 You know me, Yahweh, you see me, you probe my heart, which is close to yours. Drag them off likesheep for the slaughterhouse, reserve them for the day of butchery.	3 Ma tu, o Signore, mi hai conosciuto, mi hai veduto, ed hai provato che il mio cuore è con te. Radunali come gregge al macello, tienli da parte pel giorno della strage.
4 (How long will the land be in mourning, and the grass wither all over the countryside? The animals andbirds are dying as a result of the wickedness of the inhabitants.) For they say, 'God does not see our fate.'	4 Fino a quando sarà in lutto la terra, e si seccherà l'erba di tutti i campi per la malizia di quelli che vi abitano? Bestie ed uccelli sono stati distrutti, perchè essi han detto: « Egli non vedrà la nostra fine ».
5 'If you find it exhausting to race against me on foot, how wil you compete against horses? In a countryat peace you feel secure, but how wil you fare in the thickets of the Jordan?	5 Se tu ti sei stancato correndo con gente a piedi, come potrai gareggiare coi cavalli? Se ti ci vuole una terra di pace per esser sicuro, che farai nella superbia del Giordano?
6 'For even your brothers and your own family will betray you. They will pursue you in ful cry. Put no faithin them when they speak you fair!'	6 Ecco, i tuoi stessi fratelli e la casa di tuo padre ti han fatto guerra, ed han gridato a gran voce dietro di te: Non ti fidar di loro, dato che ti dicessero delle buone parole.
7 I have abandoned my house, left my heritage, I have delivered what I dearly loved into the clutches ofits enemies.	7 Ho abbandonata la mia casa, ho lasciata la mia eredità, ho abbandonata l'anima mia diletta nelle mani dei suoi nemici.
8 To me, my heritage has behaved like a lion in the forest, it roared at me ferociously: so I now hate it.	8 La mia eredità è divenuta per me come un leone nella foresta, ha alzata contro me la voce, per questo l'ho presa a noia.
9 I see my heritage as a brightly-coloured bird of prey attacked by birds of prey on every side! Go,assemble al the wild animals, make them come and dine!	9 E' forse per me la mia eredità un uccello a vari colori? E' un uccello tutto variopinto? Venite, radunatevi tutte, bestie delia terra, correte a, divorare:
10 Many shepherds have laid my vineyard waste, have trampled over my plot of land, the plot of landwhich was my joy, reducing my favourite estate to a deserted wilderness.	10 molti pastori han rovinata la mia vigna, han calpestato il mio possesso, han cangiata la mia parte diletta in desolato deserto.
11 They have made it a waste; wasted, it mourns before me. The whole country has been devastatedand no one takes it to heart.	11 L'hanno abbandonata alla distruzione, ed essa piange dinanzi a me. Tutta la terra è stata orrendamente desolata, perchè non v'è nessuno che rifletta nel cuore.
12 The devastators have arrived on all the bare heights of the desert (for Yahweh wields a devouringsword); from one end of the country to the other, there is no peace for any living thing.	12 I devastatori son venuti per tutte le vie del deserto, perchè la spada del Signore divorerà da un estremo all'altro della terra: per nessun mortale vi sarà bene.
13 Wheat they have sown, thorns they reap: they have worn themselves out, to no profit. They aredisappointed in their harvests, because of Yahweh's burning anger.	13 Han seminato grano ed han raccolto spine, hanno avuta un'eredità, ma non gioverà loro: sarete svergognati dai vostri frutti per la furibonda ira del Signore.
14 Yahweh says this, 'As regards al my evil neighbours who have laid hands on the heritage I grantedmy people Israel, look, I shal uproot them from their soil, (though I shall uproot the House of Judah from amongthem).	14 Ecco quanto dice il Signore contro i miei pessimi vicini, i quali toccano l'eredità da me distribuita al mio popolo d'Israele: « Ecco io li sradicherò dalla loro terra e torrò di mezzo ad essi la casa di Giuda.
15 But having uprooted them, I shall take pity on them again and bring them back each to its ownheritage, each to its own country,	15 E, quando li avrò sradicati, tornerò ad aver compassione di loro, e li ricondurrò ciascuno alla propria eredità, ciascuno alla propria terra.
16 and if they carefully learn my people's ways and swear by my name, "As Yahweh lives", as they havetaught my people to swear by Baal, then they wil be re-established among my people.	16 E se istruiti impareranno le vie del mio popolo da giurare nel mio nome « Vive il Signora! », come insegnarono al mio popolo giurare per Baal, saranno stabiliti in mezzo al mio popolo.
17 But if any nation refuses to listen, I shall uproot it for ever and destroy it, Yahweh declares.'	17 Ma se essi non daranno retta, sradicherò quella nazione del tutto, e la distruggerò — dice il Signore ».
