Jeremiah 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Your uprightness is too great, Yahweh, for me to dispute with you. But I should like to discuss somepoints of justice with you: Why is it that the way of the wicked prospers? Why do al treacherous people thrive?	1 - Tu sei pur giusto, o Signore, ancorchè io disputi teco; tuttavia ti dirò le mie ragioni. Com'è che agli empi tutto cammina prosperosamente, che tutti i prevaricatori e tutti quelli che si danno a mal fare sono felici?
2 You plant them, they take root, they flourish, yes, and bear fruit. You are on their lips, yet far from theirheart.	2 Tu li hai piantati e hanno messo radice, fanno bella cresciuta e fanno frutto, tu stai vicino alla loro bocca e lontano dal loro cuore.
3 You know me, Yahweh, you see me, you probe my heart, which is close to yours. Drag them off likesheep for the slaughterhouse, reserve them for the day of butchery.	3 Ma tu, o Signore, mi hai conosciuto, mi hai veduto, hai sperimentato lo stato del mio cuore con te: segregali come gregge da macello, consacrali pel giorno della carneficina!
4 (How long will the land be in mourning, and the grass wither all over the countryside? The animals andbirds are dying as a result of the wickedness of the inhabitants.) For they say, 'God does not see our fate.'	4 Fino a quando la terra sarà afflitta e le erbe di tutti i campi seccheranno, a causa della malvagità di coloro che vi abitano? Sono spariti animali e uccelli, eppure costoro hanno detto: «Non ha visione della nostra fine!».
5 'If you find it exhausting to race against me on foot, how wil you compete against horses? In a countryat peace you feel secure, but how wil you fare in the thickets of the Jordan?	5 Se correndo con uomini a piedi ti sei stancato, come potrai gareggiare coi cavalli? Mentre in una terra pacifica tu saresti sicuro, che farai in mezzo alle superbe (boscaglie) del Giordano?
6 'For even your brothers and your own family will betray you. They will pursue you in ful cry. Put no faithin them when they speak you fair!'	6 Perchè i tuoi stessi fratelli e anche la casa di tuo padre si sono rivoltati contro di te, ti hanno fatto le urlate dietro a gola spiegata; e se fanno le parole soavi, non credere a loro.
7 I have abandoned my house, left my heritage, I have delivered what I dearly loved into the clutches ofits enemies.	7 Ho dovuto abbandonare la mia casa, lasciare la mia eredità, ho dato l'anima mia diletta in mano dei suoi nemici.
8 To me, my heritage has behaved like a lion in the forest, it roared at me ferociously: so I now hate it.	8 La mia eredità ha inferocito contro di me, come un leone della foresta, ha levato contro di me la sua voce, per questo mi è divenuta odiosa.
9 I see my heritage as a brightly-coloured bird of prey attacked by birds of prey on every side! Go,assemble al the wild animals, make them come and dine!	9 La mia eredità non è essa un volatile multicolore? un volatile tutto variopinto? Venite, radunatevi tutte, bestie della terra, affrettatevi a divorare!
10 Many shepherds have laid my vineyard waste, have trampled over my plot of land, the plot of landwhich was my joy, reducing my favourite estate to a deserted wilderness.	10 Pastori in gran numero hanno distrutto la mia vigna, calpestata la mia possessione, la mia possessione tanto cara l'hanno ridotta in una deserta solitudine.
11 They have made it a waste; wasted, it mourns before me. The whole country has been devastatedand no one takes it to heart.	11 L'hanno messa nella devastazione ed è là che piange dinanzi a me; tutta desolata dalla devastazione è la terra, perchè nessuno riflette dentro nel suo cuore.
12 The devastators have arrived on all the bare heights of the desert (for Yahweh wields a devouringsword); from one end of the country to the other, there is no peace for any living thing.	12 Per tutte le vie del deserto sono venuti gli sterminatori, perchè la spada del Signore divorerà da un'estremità all'altra della terrae non c'è pace per nessuno dei viventi.
13 Wheat they have sown, thorns they reap: they have worn themselves out, to no profit. They aredisappointed in their harvests, because of Yahweh's burning anger.	13 Seminarono grano e raccolsero spine; ebbero l'eredità e non ne avranno alcun profitto; sarete confusi ai frutti che ricaverete dall'aver messo lo sdegno del Signore.
14 Yahweh says this, 'As regards al my evil neighbours who have laid hands on the heritage I grantedmy people Israel, look, I shal uproot them from their soil, (though I shall uproot the House of Judah from amongthem).	14 Così dice il Signore, contro tutti quei malvagi miei vicini che attentano alla eredità che ho distribuito al mio popolo Israele: «Ecco che io li strapperò dalla loro terra e strapperò la casa di Giuda di mezzo ad essi.
15 But having uprooted them, I shall take pity on them again and bring them back each to its ownheritage, each to its own country,	15 E dopo che li avrò strappati, tornerò ed userò loro misericordia e li ricondurrò ciascuno alla sua eredità e ognuno alla sua propria terra.
16 and if they carefully learn my people's ways and swear by my name, "As Yahweh lives", as they havetaught my people to swear by Baal, then they wil be re-established among my people.	16 E se ammaestrati, avranno imparato le vie del popolo mio a giurare nel mio nome: "Vive il Signore", così come hanno insegnato al mio popolo a giurare per Baal, saranno ristabiliti in mezzo al mio popolo.
17 But if any nation refuses to listen, I shall uproot it for ever and destroy it, Yahweh declares.'	17 Ma se essi non daranno ascolto strapperò cotesta gente estirpandola e sterminandola», dice il Signore.
