Leviticus 26

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 ' "You wil not make idols for yourselves; you will not erect statues or cultic stones, or erect carvedstones in your country, for you to worship: for I, Yahweh, am your God.	1 "Não fareis ídolos. Não levantareis estátuas nem estelas, e não poreis em vossa terra pedra alguma adornada de figuras, para vos prostrardes diante dela, porque eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus.
2 You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.	2 Guardareis os meus sábados e reverenciareis o meu santuário. Eu sou o Senhor.
3 "If you live according to my laws, if you keep my commandments and put them into practice,	3 Se seguirdes minhas leis e guardardes os meus preceitos e os praticardes, eu vos darei as chuvas nos seus tempos.
4 I shal give you the rain you need at the right time; the soil wil yield its produce and the trees of thecountryside their fruit;	4 A terra dará o seu produto e as árvores da terra se carregarão de frutos.
5 you wil thresh until vintage time and gather grapes until sowing time. You wil eat your fill of bread andlive secure in your land.	5 A debulha do trigo prolongar-se-á até a vindima, e a vindima até a sementeira; comereis o vosso pão à saciedade, e habitareis em segurança na vossa terra.
6 "I shall give peace in the land, and you wil go to sleep with no one to frighten you. I shal rid the land of beasts of prey. The sword wil not pass through your land.	6 Darei paz à vossa terra, e vosso sono não será perturbado. Afastarei da terra os animais nocivos, e a espada não passará pela vossa terra.
7 You will pursue your enemies and they wil fal before your sword;	7 Quando perseguirdes os vossos inimigos, cairão sob vossa espada.
8 five of you pursuing a hundred of them, one hundred pursuing ten thousand; and your enemies wil falbefore your sword.	8 Cinco dentre vós perseguirão um cento, e cem dos vossos perseguirão dez mil, e os vossos inimigos cairão sob vossa espada.
9 "I shall turn towards you, I shal make you fertile and make your numbers grow, and I shal uphold mycovenant with you.	9 Eu me voltarei para vós, e vos farei crescer; multiplicar-vos-ei e ratificarei a minha aliança convosco.
10 "Having eaten al you need of last year's harvest, you will throw out the old to make room for the new.	10 Comereis as colheitas antigas, bem conservadas, e lançareis fora as velhas, para dar lugar às novas.
11 "I shal fix my home among you and never reject you.	11 Porei o meu tabernáculo no meio de vós, e a minha alma não vos rejeitará.
12 I shall live among you; I shall be your God and you will be my people,	12 Andarei entre vós: serei o vosso Deus e vós sereis o meu povo.
13 I, Yahweh your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you should be their slaves no longer, andwho broke the bonds of your yoke and made you walk with head held high.	13 Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Deus, que vos tirei do Egito para livrar-vos da escravidão. Quebrei as cadeias de vosso jugo, e vos fiz andar com a cabeça erguida.
14 "But if you wil not listen to me and do not put all these commandments into practice,	14 Mas se não me escutardes e não guardardes os meus mandamentos,
15 if you reject my laws and detest my customs, and you break my covenant by not putting al mycommandments into practice,	15 se desprezardes os meus preceitos e vossa alma aborrecer as minhas leis, de sorte que não pratiqueis todos os meus mandamentos e violeis minha aliança, eis como vos hei de tratar:
16 this is how I shal treat you: "I shal subject you to terror, consumption and fever, making you dim ofsight and short of breath. You wil sow your seed in vain, for your enemies wil eat it.	16 enviarei terríveis flagelos sobre vós: a tísica e a febre que empanarão vosso olhar e vos farão desfalecer. Debalde semeareis a vossa semente, porque vossos inimigos a comerão.
17 I shall turn against you and you wil be defeated by your enemies. Your foes wil have the masteryover you, and you wil flee when no one is pursuing you.	17 Voltarei minha face contra vós e sereis vencidos pelos vossos inimigos: eles vos dominarão, e fugireis sem que ninguém vos persiga.
18 "And if, in spite of this, you will not listen to me, I shal punish you seven times over for your sins.	18 Se nem ainda assim me ouvirdes, castigar-vos-ei sete vezes mais pelos vossos pecados.
19 I shall break your proud strength. I shal make the sky like iron for you, and your soil like bronze.	19 Quebrarei o orgulho de vosso poder, tornarei o vosso céu como ferro e a vossa terra como bronze.
20 You wil wear out your strength in vain, your land will not yield its produce, nor the trees of the countrytheir fruit.	20 Inutilmente se gastará a vossa força, pois vossa terra não dará os seus produtos, e as árvores da terra não produzirão os seus frutos.
21 "And if you go against me and wil not listen to me, I shall heap seven times more plagues on you foryour sins.	21 Se me puserdes obstáculos e não quiserdes ouvir-me, ferir-vos-ei sete vezes mais, conforme os vossos pecados.
22 I shall send wild animals to attack you and rob you of your children, destroy your cattle and reduceyour numbers until your roads are deserted.	22 Mandarei contra vós as feras do campo, que devorarão vossos filhos, matarão vossos animais e vos reduzirão a um pequeno número, de modo que os vossos caminhos se tornarão desertos.
23 "And if that does not reform you, and you stil go against me,	23 Se apesar desses castigos não vos quiserdes corrigir, e vos obstinardes em resistir-me,
24 then I shal go against you and punish you another seven times over for your sins.	24 eu vos resistirei por minha vez e vos ferirei sete vezes mais, por causa dos vossos pecados.
25 I shall bring the sword on you, which will avenge the covenant, and when you huddle inside yourtowns, I shal send pestilence among you, and you will fal into the enemy's clutches.	25 Farei cair sobre vós a espada para vingar a minha aliança. Se vos ajuntardes em vossas cidades, lançarei a peste no meio de vós e sereis entregues nas mãos de vossos inimigos.
26 When I take away the bread which supports you, ten women wil be able to bake your bread in oneoven and wil then dole your bread out by weight; you wil eat but not be satisfied.	26 Tirar-vos-ei o pão, vosso sustentáculo, de tal sorte que dez mulheres o cozerão em um só forno e vo-lo entregarão por peso; comereis e não ficareis saciados.
27 "And if, in spite of this, you will not listen to me but go against me,	27 Se, apesar disso, não me ouvirdes, e me resistirdes ainda,
28 I shall go against you in fury and punish you seven times over for your sins.	28 marcharei contra vós em meu furor e vos castigarei sete vezes mais, por causa dos vossos pecados.
29 You wil eat the flesh of your own sons, you wil eat the flesh of your own daughters.	29 Comereis a carne de vossos filhos e de vossas filhas.
30 I shall destroy your high places and smash your incense-altars; I shal pile your corpses on thecorpses of your foul idols and shall reject you.	30 Destruirei vossos lugares altos e quebrarei vossas estelas solares; amontoarei vossos cadáveres sobre os de vossos ídolos, e minha alma vos abominará.
31 I shall reduce your cities to ruins; I shal lay waste your sanctuary and refuse to inhale from yousmel s intended to please.	31 Reduzirei a deserto as vossas cidades, devastarei vossos santuários e não aspirarei mais o suave odor de vossos perfumes.
32 I shall make such a desolation of the country that your enemies who come to live there wil beappal ed by it.	32 Desolarei vossa terra e vossos inimigos ficarão estupefatos com ela quando a habitarem.
33 And I shal scatter you among the nations. I shal unsheathe the sword against you, reducing yourcountry to desert and your towns to ruins.	33 Eu vos dispersarei entre as nações, e desembainharei a espada atrás de vós; vossa terra será devastada e vossas cidades se tornarão desertas.
34 Then the country wil indeed observe its Sabbaths, al the while it lies deserted, while you are in thecountry of your enemies. Then indeed the country wil rest and observe its Sabbaths.	34 Então gozará a terra os seus sábados enquanto durar a sua solidão, quando estiverdes na terra de vossos inimigos; então a terra gozará os seus sábados e repousará.
35 And as it lies deserted it will rest, as it never did on your Sabbaths when you were living there.	35 Nos dias em que for devastada, ela terá o repouso que não gozou nos sábados do tempo em que a habitáveis.
36 I shall strike such fear into the hearts of those of you who survive in the countries of their enemiesthat the sound of a fal ing leaf will set them fleeing; they wil flee as though fleeing from the sword, and fal whenno one is pursuing.	36 Naqueles dentre vós que sobreviverem, porei tal espanto em seus corações na terra de seus inimigos, que o ruído de uma folha agitada pelo vento os porá em fuga: fugirão como se foge diante da espada e cairão sem que ninguém os persiga.
37 They will stumble over one another as though fleeing before the sword, when no one is pursuing. You wil be powerless to stand up to your enemies;	37 Sem que ninguém os persiga, tropeçarão uns sobre os outros, como diante da espada. Não podereis resistir aos vossos inimigos.
38 you wil perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies wil swal ow you up.	38 Perecereis entre as nações e a terra inimiga vos consumirá.
39 Those of you who survive wil pine away in their guilt in the countries of their enemies and, bearingthe guilt of their ancestors too, wil pine away like them.	39 Os que sobreviverem consumir-se-ão por causa de suas iniqüidades na terra de seus inimigos, e serão também consumidos por causa das iniqüidades de seus pais, que levarão sobre si.
40 "Then they shal admit their guilt and that of their ancestors and their infidelities against me, andfurther, their setting themselves against me.	40 Eles confessarão, então, as suas iniqüidades e as de seus pais, as transgressões cometidas contra mim, porque me resistiram;
41 "I in my turn wil go against them and bring them into the land of their enemies. Then theiruncircumcised hearts wil grow humble and then they wil accept the punishment for their guilt.	41 e, por isso, eu também lhes resisti e os levei para a terra de seus inimigos. Se, então, humilharem o seu coração incircunciso e sofrerem a pena de sua iniqüidade,
42 I shall remember my covenant with Jacob, I shal remember my covenant with Isaac and mycovenant with Abraham; and I shal remember the country too.	42 eu me lembrarei de minha aliança com Jacó, de minha aliança com Isaac e com Abraão, e lembrar-me-ei dessa terra.
43 "Abandoned, the country wil keep its Sabbaths, as it lies deserted in their absence, and they wilhave to accept the punishment for their guilt, since they detested my customs and rejected my laws.	43 E, depois que eles a tiverem deixado, esta terra gozará os seus sábados enquanto for devastada longe deles; eles sofrerão a pena de suas iniqüidades, porque desprezaram os meus mandamentos e a sua alma feriu as minhas leis.
44 "Yet, in spite of al this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I shall not so utterly reject ordetest them as to destroy them completely and break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God.	44 Apesar de tudo isso, quando estiverem na terra de seus inimigos, não os rejeitarei, nem os abominarei a ponto de exterminá-los e de romper minha aliança com eles; porque eu sou o Senhor, seu Deus.
45 For their sake I shall remember the covenant I made with those first generations that I brought out ofEgypt while other nations watched, so that I should be their God, I, Yahweh." '	45 Lembrar-me-ei de minha aliança com seus pais, quando os tirei do Egito à vista das nações, para ser o seu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor."
46 Such were the decrees, customs and laws which Yahweh established between himself and theIsraelites on Mount Sinai through Moses.	46 Tais são as ordenações, os mandamentos e as leis que o Senhor estabeleceu entre ele e os israelitas, por intermédio de Moisés, no monte Sinai.
