Leviticus 21

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Yahweh said to Moses: 'Speak to the priests descended from Aaron and say: "None of them mustmake himself unclean by touching the corpse of one of his people,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse: Parle aux prêtres, enfants d'Aaron; tu leur diras: Aucun d'eux ne se rendraimpur près du cadavre de l'un des siens,
2 unless it be of one of his closest relations-father, mother, son, daughter, brother,	2 sinon pour sa parenté la plus proche: mère, père, fils, fille, frère.
3 or virgin sister, since she being unmarried is still his close relation: he can make himself unclean forher;	3 Pour sa soeur vierge qui reste sa proche parente puisqu'elle n'a pas appartenu à un homme, ilpourra se rendre impur;
4 but for a close female relation who is married he wil not make himself unclean; he would profanehimself.	4 pour une femme mariée parmi les siens, il ne se rendra pas impur: il se profanerait.
5 "They wil not make tonsures on their heads, shave the edges of their beards, or gash their bodies.	5 Ils ne se feront pas de tonsure sur la tête, ils ne se raseront pas le bord de la barbe et ne se ferontpas d'incisions sur le corps.
6 They wil be consecrated to their God and wil not profane the name of their God. For their function isto offer the food burnt for Yahweh, the food of their God, and so they must be holy.	6 Ils seront consacrés à leur Dieu et ne profaneront point le nom de leur Dieu: ce sont eux en effetqui apportent les mets de Yahvé, nourriture de leur Dieu, et ils doivent être en état de sainteté.
7 "They wil not marry a woman profaned by prostitution, or one divorced by her husband, for the priestis consecrated to his God.	7 Ils ne prendront pas pour épouse une femme prostituée et profanée, ni une femme que son mari achassée, car le prêtre est consacré à son Dieu.
8 "You wil treat him as holy, for he offers the food of your God. For you, he wil be a holy person, for I,Yahweh, who sanctify you, am holy.	8 Tu le traiteras comme un être saint car il offre la nourriture de ton Dieu. Il sera pour toi un êtresaint car je suis saint, moi Yahvé qui vous sanctifie.
9 "If a priest's daughter profanes herself by prostitution, she profanes her father and wil be burnt alive.	9 Si la fille d'un homme qui est prêtre se profane en se prostituant, elle profane son père et doit êtrebrûlée au feu.
10 "The priest who is pre-eminent over his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured,and who, robed in the sacred vestments, has received investiture, wil not disorder his hair or tear his clothes;	10 Quant au prêtre qui a la prééminence sur ses frères, lui sur la tête duquel est versée l'huiled'onction et qui reçoit l'investiture en revêtant les habits sacrés, il ne déliera pas ses cheveux, il ne déchirera passes vêtements,
11 he wil not go near any corpse or make himself unclean even for his father or mother.	11 il ne viendra près du cadavre d'aucun mort et ne se rendra impur ni pour son père ni pour samère.
12 He wil not leave the holy place in such a way as to profane the sanctuary of his God; for he bears theconsecration of the anointing oil of his God. I am Yahweh.	12 Il ne sortira pas du lieu saint, de manière à ne pas profaner le sanctuaire de son Dieu, car ilporte sur lui-même la consécration de l'huile d'onction de son Dieu. Je suis Yahvé.
13 "He will marry a woman who is stil a virgin.	13 Il prendra pour épouse une femme encore vierge.
14 He wil not marry a woman who has been widowed or divorced or profaned by prostitution, but wilmarry a virgin from his own people:	14 La veuve, la femme répudiée ou profanée par la prostitution, il ne les prendra pas pour épouses;c'est seulement une vierge d'entre les siens qu'il prendra pour épouse:
15 he must not make his own children profane, for I, Yahweh, have sanctified him." '	15 il ne profanera point sa descendance, car c'est moi, Yahvé, qui l'ai sanctifiée.
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
17 'Speak to Aaron and say: "None of your descendants, for al time, may come forward to offer the foodof his God if he has any infirmity,	17 Parle à Aaron et dis-lui: Nul de tes descendants, à quelque génération que ce soit, nes'approchera pour offrir l'aliment de son Dieu s'il a une infirmité.
18 for none may come forward if he has an infirmity, be he blind or lame, disfigured or deformed,	18 Car aucun homme ne doit s'approcher s'il a une infirmité, que ce soit un aveugle ou un boiteux,un homme défiguré ou déformé,
19 or with an injured foot or arm,	19 un homme dont le pied ou le bras soit fracturé,
20 a hunchback, someone with rickets or ophthalmia or the scab or running sores, or a eunuch.	20 un bossu, un rachitique, un homme atteint d'ophtalmie, de dartre ou de plaies purulentes, ou uneunuque.
21 No descendant of the priest Aaron may come forward to offer the food burnt for Yahweh if he has anyinfirmity; if he has an infirmity, he wil not come forward to offer the food of his God.	21 Nul des descendants d'Aaron, le prêtre, ne pourra s'approcher pour offrir les mets de Yahvé s'ila une infirmité; il a une infirmité, il ne s'approchera pas pour offrir la nourriture de son Dieu.
22 "He may eat the food of his God, things especially holy and things holy,	22 Il pourra manger des aliments de son Dieu, choses très saintes et choses saintes,
23 but he wil not go near the curtain or approach the altar, since he has an infirmity and must notprofane my holy things; for I, Yahweh, have sanctified them." '	23 mais il ne viendra pas auprès du rideau et ne s'approchera pas de l'autel; il a une infirmité et nedoit pas profaner mes objets sacrés, car c'est moi, Yahvé, qui les ai sanctifiés.
24 And Moses promulgated this to Aaron, to his sons, and to all the Israelites.	24 Et Moïse le dit à Aaron, à ses fils et à tous les Israélites.
