Leviticus 21

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Yahweh said to Moses: 'Speak to the priests descended from Aaron and say: "None of them mustmake himself unclean by touching the corpse of one of his people,	1 Dijo Yahveh a Moisés: Habla a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, y diles: Nadie se haga impuro por el cadáver de alguno de los suyos,
2 unless it be of one of his closest relations-father, mother, son, daughter, brother,	2 como no sea pariente cercano suyo: la madre, el padre, el hijo, la hija, el hermano,
3 or virgin sister, since she being unmarried is still his close relation: he can make himself unclean forher;	3 una hermana virgen, que viva con él y no haya sido desposada aún; por ella puede hacerse impuro.
4 but for a close female relation who is married he wil not make himself unclean; he would profanehimself.	4 Pues no debe hacerse impuro, siendo señor entre los suyos; se profanaría.
5 "They wil not make tonsures on their heads, shave the edges of their beards, or gash their bodies.	5 Los sacerdotes no se raparán la cabeza, ni se cortarán los bordes de la barba, ni se harán incisiones en su cuerpo.
6 They wil be consecrated to their God and wil not profane the name of their God. For their function isto offer the food burnt for Yahweh, the food of their God, and so they must be holy.	6 Santos han de ser para su Dios y no profanarán el nombre de su Dios, pues son ellos los que presentan los manjares que se han de abrasar para Yahveh, el alimento de su Dios; han de ser santos.
7 "They wil not marry a woman profaned by prostitution, or one divorced by her husband, for the priestis consecrated to his God.	7 No tomarán por esposa a una mujer prostituta ni profanada, ni tampoco una mujer repudiada por su marido; pues el sacerdote está consagrado a su Dios.
8 "You wil treat him as holy, for he offers the food of your God. For you, he wil be a holy person, for I,Yahweh, who sanctify you, am holy.	8 Le tendrás por santo, porque él es quien presenta el alimento de tu Dios; por tanto será santo para ti, pues santo soy yo, Yahveh, el que os santifico.
9 "If a priest's daughter profanes herself by prostitution, she profanes her father and wil be burnt alive.	9 Si la hija de un sacerdote prostituyéndose se profana, a su padre profana; será quemada.
10 "The priest who is pre-eminent over his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured,and who, robed in the sacred vestments, has received investiture, wil not disorder his hair or tear his clothes;	10 El sumo sacerdote, superior a sus hermanos, sobre cuya cabeza fue derramado el óleo de la unción y que recibió la investidura para vestir los ornamentos, no llevará desgreñada su cabellera ni rasgará sus vestidos,
11 he wil not go near any corpse or make himself unclean even for his father or mother.	11 ni se acercará a ningún cadáver; ni siquiera por su padre o por su madre puede hacerse impuro.
12 He wil not leave the holy place in such a way as to profane the sanctuary of his God; for he bears theconsecration of the anointing oil of his God. I am Yahweh.	12 No saldrá del santuario para no profanar el santuario de su Dios; pues lleva sobre sí la consagración del óleo de la unción de su Dios. Yo, Yahveh.
13 "He will marry a woman who is stil a virgin.	13 Tomará una virgen por esposa.
14 He wil not marry a woman who has been widowed or divorced or profaned by prostitution, but wilmarry a virgin from his own people:	14 No se casará con viuda ni repudiada ni profanada por prostitución, sino que tomará por esposa una virgen de entre su parentela.
15 he must not make his own children profane, for I, Yahweh, have sanctified him." '	15 No profanará su descendencia entre su pueblo, pues soy, yo, Yahveh, el que lo santifico.
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Yahveh habló a Moisés y dijo:
17 'Speak to Aaron and say: "None of your descendants, for al time, may come forward to offer the foodof his God if he has any infirmity,	17 Habla a Aarón y dile: Ninguno de tus descendientes en cualquiera de sus generaciones, si tiene un defecto corporal, podrá acercarse a ofrecer el alimento de su Dios;
18 for none may come forward if he has an infirmity, be he blind or lame, disfigured or deformed,	18 pues ningún hombre que tenga defecto corporal ha de acercarse: ni ciego ni cojo ni deforme ni monstruoso,
19 or with an injured foot or arm,	19 ni el que tenga roto el pie o la mano;
20 a hunchback, someone with rickets or ophthalmia or the scab or running sores, or a eunuch.	20 ni jorobado ni raquítico ni enfermo de los ojos, ni el que padezca sarna o tiña, ni el eunuco.
21 No descendant of the priest Aaron may come forward to offer the food burnt for Yahweh if he has anyinfirmity; if he has an infirmity, he wil not come forward to offer the food of his God.	21 Ningún descendiente de Aarón que tenga defecto corporal puede acercarse a ofrecer los manjares que se abrasan en honor de Yahveh. Tiene defecto; no se acercará a ofrecer los manjares que se abrasan en honor de Yahveh. Tiene defecto; no se acercará a ofrecer el alimento de su Dios.
22 "He may eat the food of his God, things especially holy and things holy,	22 Sin embargo, podrá comer el alimento de su Dios, las cosas sacratísimas, y las sagradas;
23 but he wil not go near the curtain or approach the altar, since he has an infirmity and must notprofane my holy things; for I, Yahweh, have sanctified them." '	23 mas no entrará hasta el velo ni se acercará al altar, porque tiene defecto, para no profanar mi santuario, pues yo soy Yahveh, el que los santifico.
24 And Moses promulgated this to Aaron, to his sons, and to all the Israelites.	24 Moisés dijo esto a Aarón y a sus hijos y a todos los israelitas.
