Isaiah 55

1 Oh, come to the water al you who are thirsty; though you have no money, come! Buy and eat; come,buy wine and milk without money, free!	1 Sitibondi, venite tutti alle acque, ed anche voi che non avete danari, correte a comprare e a mangiare, venite a comprare senza danaro, e senza dar nulla per essi, vino e latte.
2 Why spend money on what cannot nourish and your wages on what fails to satisfy? Listen carefully tome, and you wil have good things to eat and rich food to enjoy.	2 Perchè spendete il vostro danaro in ciò che non è pane, e la vostra fatica in ciò che non sazia? Ascoltatemi attentamente, e mangiate ciò che è buono, e l'anima vostra sarà rallegrata da cibi prelibati.
3 Pay attention, come to me; listen, and you wil live. I shall make an everlasting covenant with you infulfilment of the favours promised to David.	3 Porgete il vostro orecchio e venite a me, ascoltate e l'anima vostra avrà vita, ed io farò con voi un patto eterno e le misericordie promesse a David.
4 Look, I have made him a witness to peoples, a leader and lawgiver to peoples.	4 Ecco io l'ho donato come testimonio ai popoli, come condottiero e maestro delle nazioni.
5 Look, you wil summon a nation unknown to you, a nation unknown to you will hurry to you for the sakeof Yahweh your God, because the Holy One of Israel has glorified you.	5 Ecco tu chiamerai un popolo che tu non conoscevi, e le nazioni che non ti conoscevano correranno a te, per amore del Signore Dio tuo e del Santo d'Israele che ti ha glorificato.
6 Seek out Yahweh while he is stil to be found, cal to him while he is still near.	6 Cercate il Signore quando può essere trovato, invocatelo quando è vicino.
7 Let the wicked abandon his way and the evil one his thoughts. Let him turn back to Yahweh who willtake pity on him, to our God, for he is rich in forgiveness;	7 L'empio abbandoni la sua via, l'iniquo i suoi pensieri e ritorni al Signore che ne avrà misericordia, al nostro Dio che largheggia nel perdono.
8 for my thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not my ways, declares Yahweh.	8 Perchè io non penso secondo i vostri pensieri, il mio modo d'agire non è come il vostro — dice il Signore. —
9 For the heavens are as high above earth as my ways are above your ways, my thoughts above yourthoughts.	9 E come i cieli sono sopra la terra, cosi le mie vie sono sopra le vostre, i miei pensieri sopra i vostri.
10 For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return before having watered theearth, fertilising it and making it germinate to provide seed for the sower and food to eat,	10 E come la pioggia e la neve discende dal cielo e non vi torna finché non abbia inebriata e fecondata la terra, e non l'abbia fatta germogliare in modo che doni il seme al seminatore e il pane a chi mangia;
11 so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it wil not return to me unfulfilled or before havingcarried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do.	11 così sarà della mia parola uscita dalla mia bocca: non tornerà a me senza frutto, ma opererà tutto quello che io voglio, e compirà quelle cose per le quali l'ho mandata.
12 Yes, you wil go out with joy and be led away in safety. Mountains and hil s wil break into joyful criesbefore you and all the trees of the countryside clap their hands.	12 Così voi uscirete pieni di gioia e sarete condotti in pace. Le montagne e le colline davanti a voi echeggeranno d'inni, e tutti gli alberi della regione vi batteranno le mani.
13 Cypress wil grow instead of thorns, myrtle instead of nettles. And this wil be fame for Yahweh, aneternal monument never to be effaced.	13 Nel posto del nardo selvatico s'inalzerà l'abete, e nel luogo dell'ortica crescerà il mirto. E il Signore si farà un nome, un monumento eterno che non sarà mai distrutto.
