Isaiah 55

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Oh, come to the water al you who are thirsty; though you have no money, come! Buy and eat; come,buy wine and milk without money, free!	1 Oh, voi che avete sete, venite alle acque; anche chi non ha denaro, venga! Comperate e mangiate senza denaro e senza prezzo vino e latte!
2 Why spend money on what cannot nourish and your wages on what fails to satisfy? Listen carefully tome, and you wil have good things to eat and rich food to enjoy.	2 Perché spendete denaro per ciò che non è pane, e vi affaticate per ciò che non vi sazia? Ascoltatemi e mangiate cose buone, vi diletterete di cibi succulenti!
3 Pay attention, come to me; listen, and you wil live. I shall make an everlasting covenant with you infulfilment of the favours promised to David.	3 Tendete l'orecchio e venite a me, ascoltate e la vostra anima vivrà! Stringerò con voi un patto eterno, le misericordie promesse a Davide.
4 Look, I have made him a witness to peoples, a leader and lawgiver to peoples.	4 Ecco, lo costituii testimone tra i popoli, principe e comandante delle nazioni.
5 Look, you wil summon a nation unknown to you, a nation unknown to you will hurry to you for the sakeof Yahweh your God, because the Holy One of Israel has glorified you.	5 Tu convocherai una nazione che non conoscevi, gente che non ti conosce accorrerà a te, a causa del Signore, tuo Dio, del Santo d'Israele, poiché ti ha glorificato.
6 Seek out Yahweh while he is stil to be found, cal to him while he is still near.	6 Ricercate il Signore, mentre si fa trovare, invocatelo, mentre è vicino.
7 Let the wicked abandon his way and the evil one his thoughts. Let him turn back to Yahweh who willtake pity on him, to our God, for he is rich in forgiveness;	7 Abbandoni l'empio la sua via e l'iniquo i suoi pensieri, ritorni al Signore, che avrà pietà di lui, e al Dio nostro, perché è largo nel perdonare.
8 for my thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not my ways, declares Yahweh.	8 Perché i miei pensieri non sono i vostri pensieri e le vostre vie non sono le mie vie. Oracolo del Signore.
9 For the heavens are as high above earth as my ways are above your ways, my thoughts above yourthoughts.	9 Quanto il cielo si eleva sopra la terra, così sono elevate le mie vie sopra le vostre vie e i miei pensieri sopra i vostri pensieri.
10 For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return before having watered theearth, fertilising it and making it germinate to provide seed for the sower and food to eat,	10 Infatti, come la pioggia e la neve scendono dal cielo e non vi ritornano più, senza aver irrigato la terra, fecondata e fatta germogliare, in modo da fornire il seme al seminatore e il pane a chi mangia,
11 so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it wil not return to me unfulfilled or before havingcarried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do.	11 così sarà la parola che esce dalla mia bocca: non ritornerà a me senza effetto, senza aver attuato quanto volevo e compiuto ciò per cui l'ho inviata.
12 Yes, you wil go out with joy and be led away in safety. Mountains and hil s wil break into joyful criesbefore you and all the trees of the countryside clap their hands.	12 Sì, uscirete con gioia e sarete ricondotti in pace. Le montagne e le colline eromperanno in giubilo davanti a voi, tutti gli alberi della foresta batteranno le mani.
13 Cypress wil grow instead of thorns, myrtle instead of nettles. And this wil be fame for Yahweh, aneternal monument never to be effaced.	13 Invece di spine cresceranno cipressi, invece di ortiche cresceranno mirti. Sarà per il Signore una gloria, un segno perpetuo, che non sarà cancellato.
