Isaiah 55

1 Oh, come to the water al you who are thirsty; though you have no money, come! Buy and eat; come,buy wine and milk without money, free!	1 - O voi tutti assetati, venite alle acque, voi che non avete denaro affrettatevi, comprate e mangiate; venite e comprate senza denaro, e senza nessuno scambio, vino e latte.
2 Why spend money on what cannot nourish and your wages on what fails to satisfy? Listen carefully tome, and you wil have good things to eat and rich food to enjoy.	2 Perchè spendete il denaro in ciò che non è pane, e la vostra fatica in ciò che non sazia? Udite me, e cibatevi di quello che è buono, e l'anima vostra sentirà le delizie del pingue alimento.
3 Pay attention, come to me; listen, and you wil live. I shall make an everlasting covenant with you infulfilment of the favours promised to David.	3 Porgete il vostro orecchio e venite a me: ascoltate, e l'anima vostra vivrà; ristabilirò con voi il patto eterno, le misericordie assicurate a David.
4 Look, I have made him a witness to peoples, a leader and lawgiver to peoples.	4 Ecco l'ho posto testimone ai popoli, condottiero e maestro alle nazioni.
5 Look, you wil summon a nation unknown to you, a nation unknown to you will hurry to you for the sakeof Yahweh your God, because the Holy One of Israel has glorified you.	5 Ecco che tu chiamerai le genti che non conoscevi, e quelle che non ti conoscevano correranno a te, per riguardo del Signore e Dio tuo, e del Santo di Israele, perchè ti ha glorificato.
6 Seek out Yahweh while he is stil to be found, cal to him while he is still near.	6 Cercate il Signore mentre si può trovare, invocatelo mentre è vicino.
7 Let the wicked abandon his way and the evil one his thoughts. Let him turn back to Yahweh who willtake pity on him, to our God, for he is rich in forgiveness;	7 L'empio lasci la sua via e l'uomo iniquo i suoi propositi; e ritorni al Signore che gli userà misericordia, e al nostro Dio che è largo nel perdonare.
8 for my thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not my ways, declares Yahweh.	8 Perchè i miei propositi non sono i vostri, e le vie vostre non sono le vie mie, dice il Signore.
9 For the heavens are as high above earth as my ways are above your ways, my thoughts above yourthoughts.	9 Perchè quanto il cielo è più alto della terra, altrettanto le mie vie sono più alte delle vostre, e i miei propositi al di sopra dei vostri.
10 For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return before having watered theearth, fertilising it and making it germinate to provide seed for the sower and food to eat,	10 E quale la pioggia e la neve che scendono dal cielo e non vi fanno ritorno, ma innaffiano la terra e la fecondano e la fanno germinare, dando seme da seminare e pane da mangiare;
11 so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it wil not return to me unfulfilled or before havingcarried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do.	11 tale sarà la mia parola; una volta uscita dalla mia bocca non tornerà a me senza frutto, ma opererà tutto quello che io voglio, e prospererà in quelle cose per cui l'ho inviata.
12 Yes, you wil go out with joy and be led away in safety. Mountains and hil s wil break into joyful criesbefore you and all the trees of the countryside clap their hands.	12 Perchè con allegrezza uscirete, e in pace sarete ricondotti; i monti ed i colli festeggeranno il vostro apparire con cantici, e tutte le piante della campagna applaudiranno.
13 Cypress wil grow instead of thorns, myrtle instead of nettles. And this wil be fame for Yahweh, aneternal monument never to be effaced.	13 In luogo dello spino crescerà l'abete, e invece dell'ortica spunterà il mirto: e il Signore renderà il suo nome eternamente celebre e segnalato, che non scomparirà mai più.
