Isaiah 51

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 Listen to me, you who pursue saving justice, you who seek Yahweh. Consider the rock from which youwere hewn, the quarry from which you were dug.	1 Hört auf mich, die ihr der Gerechtigkeit nachjagt und die ihr den Herrn sucht. Blickt auf den Felsen, aus dem ihr gehauen seid, auf den Schacht, aus dem ihr herausgebohrt wurdet.
2 Consider Abraham your father and Sarah who gave you birth. When I cal ed him he was the only onebut I blessed him and made him numerous.	2 Blickt auf Abraham, euren Vater, und auf Sara, die euch gebar. Er war allein, als ich ihn rief; doch ich habe ihn gesegnet und ihm viele Nachkommen geschenkt.
3 Yes, Yahweh has pity on Zion, has pity on al her ruins; he wil turn her desert into an Eden and herwastelands into the garden of Yahweh. Joy and gladness wil be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound ofmusic.	3 Denn der Herr hat Erbarmen mit Zion, er hat Erbarmen mit all seinen Ruinen. Seine Wüste macht er wie Eden, seine Öde wie den Garten des Herrn. Freude und Fröhlichkeit findet man dort, Lobpreis und den Klang von Liedern.
4 Pay attention to me, my people, listen to me, my nation, for a law will come from me, and I shall makemy saving justice the light of peoples.	4 Horcht her, ihr Völker, hört auf mich, ihr Nationen! Denn von mir kommt die Weisung und mein Recht wird zum Licht der Völker.
5 My justice is suddenly approaching, my salvation appears, my arm is about to judge the peoples. Thecoasts and islands wil put their hope in me and put their trust in my arm.	5 Plötzlich ist meine Gerechtigkeit da und von mir kommt die Hilfe. Mein Arm verschafft den Völkern ihr Recht; auf mich hoffen die Inseln, sie warten auf meinen Arm.
6 Raise your eyes to the heavens, look down at the earth; for the heavens will vanish like smoke, theearth wear out like clothing and its inhabitants die like vermin, but my salvation wil last for ever and my savingjustice remain inviolable.	6 Blickt auf zum Himmel, betrachtet die Erde hier unten! Der Himmel zerflattert wie Rauch, die Erde zerfällt wie ein Kleid; ihre Bewohner sterben wie die Fliegen. Doch meine hilfreiche Gnade bleibt für immer bestehen, meine Gerechtigkeit wird niemals erschüttert.
7 Listen to me, you who know what saving justice means, a people who take my laws to heart: do notfear people's taunts, do not be alarmed by their insults,	7 Hört auf mich, die ihr das Recht kennt, du Volk, das mein Gesetz im Herzen trägt. Fürchtet euch nicht vor der Beschimpfung durch Menschen, erschreckt nicht vor ihrem Spott!
8 for the moth wil eat them like clothing, the grub wil devour them like wool, but my saving justice willast for ever and my salvation for al generations.	8 Denn man frisst sie, wie die Motte das Kleid, man frisst sie, wie die Schabe die Wolle. Doch meine Gerechtigkeit bleibt für immer bestehen und von Generation zu Generation meine hilfreiche Gnade.
9 Awake, awake! Clothe yourself in strength, arm of Yahweh. Awake, as in the olden days, generationslong ago! Was it not you who split Rahab in half, who pierced the Dragon through?	9 Wach auf, wach auf, bekleide dich mit Macht, Arm des Herrn! Wach auf wie in den früheren Tagen, wie bei den Generationen der Vorzeit! Warst du es nicht, der die Rahab zerhieb und den Drachen durchbohrte?
10 Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great Abyss; who made the sea-bed into a roadfor the redeemed to go across?	10 Warst du es nicht, der das Meer austrocknen ließ, die Wasser der großen Flut, der die Tiefen des Meeres zum Weg gemacht hat, damit die Erlösten hindurchziehen konnten?
11 This is why those whom Yahweh has ransomed wil return, they wil enter Zion shouting for joy, theirheads crowned with a joy unending; joy and gladness wil escort them and sorrow and sighing wil take flight.	11 Die vom Herrn Befreiten kehren zurück und kommen voll Jubel nach Zion. Ewige Freude ruht auf ihren Häuptern. Wonne und Freude stellen sich ein, Kummer und Seufzen entfliehen.
12 I, I am your consoler. Why then should you be afraid of mortal human beings, of a child of man, whosefate is that of the grass?	12 Ich bin es, ja ich, der euch tröstet. Was hast du, dass du dich fürchtest vor sterblichen Menschen, vor Menschen, die dahinschwinden wie Gras?
13 You forget about Yahweh your Creator who spread out the heavens and laid the earth's foundations;you have never stopped trembling al day long before the fury of the oppressor when he was bent on destruction.Where is the oppressor's fury now?	13 Warum vergisst du den Herrn, deinen Schöpfer, der den Himmel ausgespannt und die Fundamente der Erde gelegt hat? Warum zitterst du dauernd vor der Wut dessen, der dich bedrängt, der darauf ausgeht, dich zu vernichten? Wo ist denn die Wut dessen, der dich bedrängt?
14 The despairing captive is soon to be set free; he will not die in the dungeon, nor wil his food run out.	14 Bald wird der Gefesselte freigelassen; er wird nicht im Kerker sterben und es mangelt ihm nicht mehr an Brot.
15 I am Yahweh your God who stirs up the sea, making its waves roar -- Yahweh Sabaoth is my name.	15 Ich bin doch der Herr, dein Gott, der das Meer aufwühlt, sodass die Wogen tosen. Herr der Heere ist sein Name.
16 I put my words into your mouth, I hid you in the shadow of my hand, to spread out the heavens andlay the earth's foundations and say to Zion, 'You are my people.'	16 Ich habe dir meine Worte in den Mund gelegt, im Schatten meiner Hand habe ich dich verborgen, als ich den Himmel ausspannte und die Fundamente der Erde legte und zu Zion sagte: Du bist mein Volk.
17 Awake, awake! To your feet, Jerusalem! You who from Yahweh's hand have drunk the cup of hiswrath. The chalice, the stupefying cup, you have drained to the dregs.	17 Raff dich auf, raff dich auf, steh auf, Jerusalem! Du hast aus dem Becher des Zorns getrunken, den der Herr in der Hand hielt. Du hast aus dem betäubenden Becher getrunken und ihn geleert.
18 There is no one to guide her of al the children she has borne, no one to grasp her hand of al thechildren she has reared.	18 Da war von all den Söhnen, die sie gebar, keiner, der sie geführt hat. Da war von all den Söhnen, die sie aufzog, keiner, der sie bei der Hand nahm.
19 Double disaster has befal en you -- who is there to sympathise? Pillage and ruin, famine and sword --who is there to console you?	19 Beides hat dich getroffen - doch wer klagt schon um dich? -: Verheerung und Zerstörung, Hunger und Schwert. Doch wer tröstet dich schon?
20 Your children are lying helpless at the end of every street like an antelope trapped in a net; they arefilled to the brim with Yahweh's wrath, with the rebuke of your God.	20 An allen Straßenecken lagen deine Söhne hilflos da, wie Wildschafe im Netz, überwältigt vom Zorn des Herrn, vom Schelten deines Gottes.
21 So listen to this, afflicted one, drunk, though not with wine.	21 Darum hör doch her, du Ärmste, die du betrunken bist, aber nicht vom Wein:
22 Thus says your Lord Yahweh, your God, defender of your people: Look, I am taking the stupefyingcup from your hand, the chalice, the cup of my wrath, you wil not have to drink again.	22 So spricht der Herr, dein Gott und Gebieter, der für sein Volk kämpft: Schon nehme ich dir den betäubenden Becher aus der Hand, den Kelch meines Zorns; du sollst daraus nicht mehr trinken.
23 I shal hand it to your tormentors who used to say to you, 'On the ground! So that we can walk overyou!' And you would flatten your back like the ground, like a street for them to walk on.	23 Ich reiche ihn denen, die dich quälten, die zu dir sagten: Wirf dich zu Boden, wir schreiten über dich weg. So musstest du deinen Rücken zum Fußboden machen, zum Weg für die, die über dich schritten.
