NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 When Solomon had finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offeringand the sacrifices; and the glory of Yahweh filled the Temple.	1 - Quando Salomone ebbe terminate queste preghiere, scese fuoco dal cielo a consumare gli olocausti e le vittime; e la gloria del Signore riempì la casa.
2 The priests could not enter the Temple of Yahweh, because the glory of Yahweh fil ed the Temple ofYahweh.	2 I sacerdoti non potevano più entrare nel tempio del Signore, essendo esso riempito dalla maestà del Signore.
3 When all the Israelites saw the fire come down and the glory of Yahweh resting on the Temple, theybowed down on the pavement with their faces to the earth, worshipping and praising Yahweh with 'For he isgood, for his faithful love lasts for ever!'	3 Tutti i figli d'Israele, al vedere il fuoco e la gloria del Signore sopra la casa, si prostrarono a terra sul pavimento lastricato di pietra, adorarono e lodarono il Signore [dicendo]: «Poichè è buono e eterna è la sua misericordia.»
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Yahweh.	4 Quindi il re e tutto il popolo immolarono vittime dinanzi al Signore,
5 King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousandsheep; and thus the king and al the people dedicated the Temple of God.	5 e Salomone immolò come vittime ventiduemila buoi, centoventimila arieti e dedicò insieme a tutto il popolo la casa di Dio,
6 The priests stood in their places, as did the Levites with Yahweh's musical instruments which KingDavid had provided, to render 'Give thanks to Yahweh, for his faithful love lasts for ever!' whenever David offeredpraise to their accompaniment. Opposite them, the priests blew trumpets, while al Israel stood.	6 mentre i sacerdoti attendevano ai loro uffici e i leviti con istrumenti musicali, fatti dal re Davide per lodare il Signore, e valendosi dei salmi di Davide [cantavano]: «Perchè eterna è la sua misericordia.» I sacerdoti frattanto dinanzi ad essi davano fiato alle trombe e tutto Israele assisteva.
7 Solomon also consecrated the middle part of the court in front of the Temple of Yahweh; for that waswhere he presented the burnt offerings and the fatty parts of the communion sacrifices, since the bronze altarwhich Solomon had made could not hold the burnt offering, the oblation and the fatty parts.	7 Salomone consacrò pure il mezzo dell'atrio dinanzi al tempio del Signore, dove offrì olocausti e grasso di vittime pacifiche, poichè l'altare di rame da lui fatto non era capace a contenere gli olocausti, i sacrifici e i grassi.
8 And then Solomon and with him al Israel from the Pass of Hamath to the Torrent of Egypt -- a verygreat assembly -- celebrated the feast for seven days.	8 Salomone adunque celebrò in quel tempo una solennità di sette giorni, e con lui Israele, una moltitudine immensa, [venuta da ogni parte], dall'entrata di Emat fino al torrente d'Egitto.
9 On the eighth day they held the assembly, for they had devoted seven days to the dedication of thealtar and seven days to the feast.	9 Nell'ottavo giorno poi fece una riunione solenne, avendo oramai dedicato per sette giorni l'altare e celebrata per sette giorni la solennità.
10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month Solomon dismissed the people to their homes, rejoicingand happy of heart over the goodness which Yahweh had shown to David, to Solomon and to his people Israel.	10 Perciò nel ventesimo terzo giorno del settimo mese rimandò i popoli alle loro tende, lieti ed esultanti per il bene che il Signore avea fatto a Davide, a Salomone e al suo popolo d'Israele.
11 Thus Solomon finished the Temple of Yahweh and the royal palace, and he successful y concludedeverything that he was of a mind to do in the Temple of Yahweh and in his own palace.	11 Salomone poi completò la casa del Signore, il palazzo reale e quanto avea disposto in cuor suo di fare nella casa del Signore e nella propria casa, e godette prosperità.
12 Then Yahweh appeared to Solomon in the night and said, 'I have heard your prayer and have chosenthis place for myself as a house of sacrifice.	12 Una notte poi gli apparve il Signore che gli disse: «Ho esaudita la tua preghiera e mi sono eletto questo luogo come casa di sacrificio.
13 If I shut the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the country, or if Isend pestilence among my people,	13 Quando io chiuderò il cielo e non cadrà pioggia, e comanderò e imporrò alle cavallette di divorare il suolo, e manderò la pestilenza nel popolo mio;
14 if my people who bear my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my presence and turn fromtheir wicked ways, then I wil listen from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their country.	14 se il mio popolo, su cui è invocato il mio nome, convertitosi, mi pregherà e ricercherà la mia faccia e farà penitenza delle vie sue pessime, lo esaudirò dal cielo e sarò propizio ai loro peccati e guarirò il suo paese.
15 Now and for the future my eyes are open and my ears attentive to prayer offered in this place,	15 I miei occhi poi saranno aperti e le mie orecchie tese alla preghiera di chi mi invocherà in questo luogo,
16 for now I have chosen and consecrated this Temple, for my name to be there for ever; my eyes andmy heart will constantly be there.	16 poichè elessi e santificai questo stesso luogo, perchè il mio nome vi sia in eterno e i miei occhi e il mio cuore siano sopra di esso in tutti i giorni.
17 And if, for your part, you walk before me as your father David did, and do everything that I havecommanded you to do, and keep my laws and my ordinances,	17 Se anche tu camminerai alla mia presenza, come camminò Davide tuo padre, e ti comporterai a seconda di quanto ti ho comandato e osserverai i miei comandamenti e le mie leggi,
18 I shal make your royal throne secure, as I covenanted with your father David when I said: You willnever lack for a male to rule in Israel.	18 stabilirò il trono del tuo regno, come promisi a Davide tuo padre, dicendogli: - Non verrà mai meno dalla tua stirpe chi sia principe in Israele. -
19 But if you turn away and forsake my laws and commandments which I have laid down for you, and goand serve other gods and worship them,	19 Che se vi ribellerete e abbandonerete le mie leggi e i miei comandi, che vi ho imposto, e ve ne andrete a servire gli dèi stranieri e li adorerete,
20 then I shall uproot them from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple whichI have consecrated for my name and make it a proverb and a byword among all the peoples.	20 vi strapperò dalla terra, che vi ho dato; e questa casa, che ho santificata al mio nome, la rigetterò dalla mia faccia e la costituirò un soggetto di proverbio e di esempio fra tutti i popoli.
21 And at this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by wil be appal ed, and wil say, "Why hasYahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?"	21 Questa casa sarà così di proverbio a tutti i passanti, i quali stupiti, domanderanno: - Perchè il Signore ha trattato in questo modo questo paese e questa casa? -
22 And the answer will be, "Because they deserted Yahweh, the God of their ancestors, who broughtthem out of Egypt, and adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why he has brought althese disasters on them." '	22 E si risponderà: - Perchè abbandonarono il Signore Dio dei loro padri, che li avea tratti dall'Egitto e si scelsero degli dèi stranieri, a cui prestarono adorazione e culto; per questo vennero sopra di loro tutti questi mali».
