1 When Solomon had finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offeringand the sacrifices; and the glory of Yahweh filled the Temple.	1 Finito che ebbe Salomone di spander le sue preghiere, cadde fuoco dal cielo, il quale divorò gli olocausti, e le vittime, e la maestà del Signore riempie la casa.
2 The priests could not enter the Temple of Yahweh, because the glory of Yahweh fil ed the Temple ofYahweh.	2 E non potevano i sacerdoti entrar nel tempio del Signore, perchè la maestà del Signore avea ripieno il suo tempio.
3 When all the Israelites saw the fire come down and the glory of Yahweh resting on the Temple, theybowed down on the pavement with their faces to the earth, worshipping and praising Yahweh with 'For he isgood, for his faithful love lasts for ever!'	3 Ma tutti ancora i figliuoli d'Israele vedevano il fuoco discendere, e la gloria del Signore sopra la casa: e prostratisi bocconi per terra sopra il pavimento lastricato di pietra, adorarono, e lodarono il Signore, come quegli, che è buono, e di cui la misericordia è eterna.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Yahweh.	4 E il re, e tutto il popolo immolavan vittime dinanzi al Signore.
5 King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousandsheep; and thus the king and al the people dedicated the Temple of God.	5 Or il re Salomone offerse in vittime ventidue mila bovi, e cento venti mila arieti: e il re con tutto il popolo fece la consagrazione della casa di Dio.
6 The priests stood in their places, as did the Levites with Yahweh's musical instruments which KingDavid had provided, to render 'Give thanks to Yahweh, for his faithful love lasts for ever!' whenever David offeredpraise to their accompaniment. Opposite them, the priests blew trumpets, while al Israel stood.	6 E i sacerdoti erano intenti agli uffici loro, e i Leviti cantavano sugli strumenti gli inni del Signore fatti dal re Davidde, per lodare il Signore, la misericordia del quale è eterna. Cosi ei cantavano gli inni di David sui loro strumenti: e i sacerdoti dirimpetto adessi sonavan le trombe, e tutto Israele si stava in piedi.
7 Solomon also consecrated the middle part of the court in front of the Temple of Yahweh; for that waswhere he presented the burnt offerings and the fatty parts of the communion sacrifices, since the bronze altarwhich Solomon had made could not hold the burnt offering, the oblation and the fatty parts.	7 Salomone santificò anche la partedi mezzo dell'atrio dinanzi al tempio del Signore: perocché ivi egli avea offerti olocausti, e il grasso delle ostie pacifiche: perchè l'altare di bronzo,che egli avea fatto, non poteva essere sufficiente per gli olocausti, e pe' sagrifizj, e pel grasso delle ostie pacifiche.
8 And then Solomon and with him al Israel from the Pass of Hamath to the Torrent of Egypt -- a verygreat assembly -- celebrated the feast for seven days.	8 Celebrò adunque Salomone in quel tempo la festa solenne per sette giorni, e con lui tutto Israele raunato in gran dissima moltitudine, dall'ingresso di Emath fino al torrente d'Egitto.
9 On the eighth day they held the assembly, for they had devoted seven days to the dedication of thealtar and seven days to the feast.	9 E l'ottavo giorno fece la festa della raunata solenne per aver fatta per sette dì la dedicazione dell'altare, e celebrata per sette dì la solennità.
10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month Solomon dismissed the people to their homes, rejoicingand happy of heart over the goodness which Yahweh had shown to David, to Solomon and to his people Israel.	10 Quindi ai ventitre del settimo mese rimandò alle sue tende il popolo lieto, e pieno di giubilo a motivo dei benefizj fatti dal Signore a Davidde, e a Salomone, e ad Israele suo popolo.
11 Thus Solomon finished the Temple of Yahweh and the royal palace, and he successful y concludedeverything that he was of a mind to do in the Temple of Yahweh and in his own palace.	11 E Salomone ridusse a perfezione la casa del Signore, e la casa del re, e tutto quello, che aveva ideato in cuor suo di fare nella casa del Signore, e nella propria casa; e fu felice.
12 Then Yahweh appeared to Solomon in the night and said, 'I have heard your prayer and have chosenthis place for myself as a house of sacrifice.	12 E il Signore gli apparve di notte,e disse: Ho udita la tua orazione, e ho eletto questo luogo per me, come casa di sagrifizio.
13 If I shut the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the country, or if Isend pestilence among my people,	13 Se io chiuderò il cielo, e non cadrà stilla di pioggia, e darò commissione, e ordine alle locuste di divorare la terra,e manderò nel mio popolo la pestilenza:
14 if my people who bear my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my presence and turn fromtheir wicked ways, then I wil listen from heaven and forgive their sins and restore their country.	14 E convertitosi il mio popolo, che prende il nome da me, mi pregherà, e cercherà di placarmi, e farà penitenza della sua mala vita; io pur dal cielo gli esaudirò, e sarò propizio ai loro peccati, e da' suoi mali libererò il loro paese.
15 Now and for the future my eyes are open and my ears attentive to prayer offered in this place,	15 Egli occhi miei saranno aperti, e intente le mie orecchie all'orazione di chiunque mi invocherà in questo luogo.
16 for now I have chosen and consecrated this Temple, for my name to be there for ever; my eyes andmy heart will constantly be there.	16 Perocché questo luogo ho io eletto, e santificato, affinchè egli porti in eterno il mio nome, e fissi siano sopra di esso gli occhi miei, e il cuor mio in ogni tempo.
17 And if, for your part, you walk before me as your father David did, and do everything that I havecommanded you to do, and keep my laws and my ordinances,	17 Tu pure se camminerai dinanzi a me, come camminò Davidde tuo padre, e farai in tutto, e per tutto secondo quello, ch'io ti ho insegnato, e osserverai i miei comandamenti, e le mie leggi;
18 I shal make your royal throne secure, as I covenanted with your father David when I said: You willnever lack for a male to rule in Israel.	18 Stabilirò il trono del tuo regno, come promisi a David tuo padre, dicendogli: Non mancherà giammai chi della tua discendenza il regno abbia d'Israele.
19 But if you turn away and forsake my laws and commandments which I have laid down for you, and goand serve other gods and worship them,	19 Ma se voi vi alienerete da me, e abbandonerete i miei comandamenti, e i miei precetti intimativi da me, andrete a servire gli dei stranieri, e gli adorerete,
20 then I shall uproot them from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple whichI have consecrated for my name and make it a proverb and a byword among all the peoples.	20 Io vi estirperò dalla terra, ch'io diedi a voi: e questa casa consagrata al nome mio io me la torrò dagli occhi, e farò che divenga favola, ed esempio a tutte le genti.
21 And at this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by wil be appal ed, and wil say, "Why hasYahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?"	21 E questa casa sarà lo scherno di tutti i passeggieri, e con istupore diranno: Per qual motivo il Signore ha trattato così questo paese, e questa
22 And the answer will be, "Because they deserted Yahweh, the God of their ancestors, who broughtthem out of Egypt, and adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why he has brought althese disasters on them." '	22 E sarà loro risposto: Perchè hanno abbandonato il Signore Dio de' padri loro, che li trasse dalla terra d'Egitto, e hanno abbracciati gli dei stranieri, e gli hanno adorati, e onorati: per questo son caduti sopra di essi tutti questi flagelli.
