NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 And Solomon allocated seventy thousand men to be porters and eighty thousand to quarry in the hillsand three thousand six hundred overseers for them.	1 Salomone arruolò settantamila uomini per il trasporto di pesi, ottantamila uomini per estrarre pietre dalla montagna e tremilaseicento sorveglianti su di loro.
2 And Solomon sent this message to Huram king of Tyre, 'Do as you did for my father David when yousent him cedars for him to build himself a palace to live in.	2 Salomone mandò a dire a Curam, re di Tiro: "Come hai fatto con Davide, mio padre, inviandogli cedri per costruirsi una casa in cui abitare, così agisci anche con me.
3 You see, I am building a house for the name of Yahweh my God, to acknowledge his holiness so thatperfumed incense may be burnt before him, the loaves of permanent offering be perpetual y laid out and theburnt offerings be made morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, New Moons and solemn festivals of Yahwehour God, as prescribed to Israel for ever;	3 Ecco, io sto per edificare un tempio al nome del Signore, mio Dio, per consacrarglielo e poter bruciare davanti a lui profumi fragranti, esporre perennemente i pani dell'offerta e presentare olocausti mattina e sera, nei sabati, nei noviluni e nelle feste del Signore, nostro Dio, come prescritto per sempre ad Israele.
4 and the house which I am building must be large, for our God is greater than al gods;	4 Il tempio che voglio edificare deve essere grande, perché il nostro Dio è più grande di tutti gli dèi.
5 even so, who would not find it an impossible task to build a house for him, when the heavens and theheavens of the heavens cannot contain him? And who am I to build a house for him except to burn incensebefore him?	5 Chi dunque avrebbe la forza di costruirgli un tempio, dal momento che i cieli e i cieli dei cieli non possono contenerlo? E chi sono io per costruirgli un tempio, anche solo per bruciare incenso alla sua presenza?
6 So now send me a man skil ed at working in gold, silver, bronze, iron, scarlet, crimson and violetmaterials, and who knows the art of engraving too; he is to work with my skil ed men in Judah and Jerusalem,whom my father David has provided.	6 Or dunque, mandami un uomo esperto nel lavorare l'oro, l'argento, il bronzo, il ferro, le stoffe di porpora, di cremisi, di violetto e abile nell'intarsio di ogni genere; egli lavorerà con gli artigiani che io ho in Giuda e Gerusalemme, e che sono stati preparati da Davide, mio padre.
7 Also send me cedar, juniper and algum trunks from the Lebanon, for I know that your servants knowthe art of fel ing timber in the Lebanon. And, my servants will work with your servants	7 Inviami anche legname di cedro, di cipresso e di sandalo del Libano. So infatti che i tuoi servi sono abili nel tagliare il legname del Libano: i miei servi si uniranno ai tuoi servi,
8 in preparing a vast quantity of timber for me, since the house which I intend to build is to be of a size tomarvel at.	8 per prepararmi del legname in abbondanza, perché il tempio che voglio costruire sarà grande e splendido.
9 Furthermore, for the upkeep of the woodcutters whom you employ to cut the timber, I shal providetwenty thousand kor of wheat, twenty thousand kor of barley, twenty thousand bat of wine and twenty thousandbat of oil.'	9 Ecco: ai taglialegna, a coloro che abbattono le piante, darò come nutrimento per i tuoi servi ventimila kor di grano, ventimila kor di orzo, ventimila bat di vino e ventimila bat di olio".
10 In a letter sent to King Solomon, Huram king of Tyre replied, 'Because Yahweh loves his people hehas made you their king!'	10 Curam, re di Tiro, rispose con uno scritto, che mandò a Salomone: "Per amore verso il suo popolo il Signore ti ha costituito re sopra di essi".
11 Huram went on to say, 'Praised be Yahweh, God of Israel, who made heaven and earth and has givenKing David a wise son, endowed with discretion and discernment, to build a house for Yahweh and a palace inwhich to reign!-	11 Inoltre Curam diceva: "Benedetto sia il Signore, Dio d'Israele, creatore del cielo e della terra, che ha dato al re Davide un figlio saggio, pieno d'intelligenza e accortezza, che costruirà un tempio al Signore e una reggia per sé.
12 I am now sending you a skil ed and intelligent man, Huram-Abi	12 Ora ti mando un uomo esperto, pieno di abilità, Curam-Abi,
13 the son of a Danite woman by a Tyrian father. He knows the arts of working in gold, silver, bronze,iron, stone, wood, scarlet, violet, fine linen and crimson materials, and is competent to carry out any kind ofengraving and to execute any design which may be entrusted to him, in col aboration with your skilled men andthose of my lord David, your father.	13 figlio di una donna della tribù di Dan e di un padre di Tiro. Egli sa lavorare l'oro e l'argento, il bronzo, il ferro, le pietre, il legname, le stoffe di porpora, di violetto, di bisso e di cremisi; sa eseguire qualunque intaglio e creare qualunque opera d'arte che gli venga affidata. Egli lavorerà con i tuoi artigiani e con gli artigiani del mio signore, Davide, padre tuo.
14 'So now let my lord send his servants the wheat, barley, oil and wine as promised	14 Ora il mio signore invii pure ai miei servi il grano, l'orzo, l'olio e il vino, che ha promesso!
15 and we wil fel all the wood you need from Lebanon, and bring it you in rafts by sea to Jaffa; and it wilbe your responsibility to transport it to Jerusalem.'	15 Noi taglieremo tutto il legname del Libano di cui avrai bisogno e te lo porteremo su zattere per mare a Giaffa. Tu poi lo farai trasportare a Gerusalemme".
16 Solomon then took a census of al the aliens resident in Israel similar to the census which his fatherDavid had taken; it was found that there were a hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.	16 Salomone recensì tutti gli stranieri residenti nel paese d'Israele, dopo il censimento effettuato da Davide suo padre: ne furono trovati centocinquantatremilaseicento.
17 He impressed seventy thousand of them as porters, eighty thousand as quarrymen in the hil s andthree thousand six hundred as overseers to make sure the people worked.	17 Di essi ne prese settantamila come portatori di pesi, ottantamila perché tagliassero pietre nella montagna e tremilaseicento sorveglianti che facessero lavorare il popolo.
