2 Kings 20

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 About then Hezekiah fel il and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came andsaid to him, 'Yahweh says this, "Put your affairs in order, for you are going to die, you wil not live." '	1 En aquellos días, Ezequías cayó gravemente enfermo. El profeta Isaías, hijo de Amós, fue a verlo y le dijo: «Así habla el Señor: Ordena todos los asuntos de tu casa, porque vas a morir. Ya no vivirás más».
2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wal and addressed this prayer to Yahweh,	2 Ezequías volvió su rostro hacia la pared y oró al Señor, diciendo:
3 'Ah, Yahweh, remember, I beg you, that I have behaved faithful y and with sincerity of heart in yourpresence and done what you regard as right.' And Hezekiah shed many tears.	3 «¡Ah, Señor! Recuerda que yo he caminado delante de ti con fidelidad e integridad de corazón, y que hice lo que es bueno a tus ojos». Y Ezequías se deshizo en llanto.
4 Isaiah had not left the middle court, before the word of Yahweh came to him,	4 Isaías no había salido aún del patio central, cuando le llegó la palabra del Señor:
5 'Go back and say to Hezekiah, prince of my people, "Yahweh, the God of your ancestor David, saysthis: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I shal cure you: in three days' time you will go up to theTemple of Yahweh.	5 «Vuelve y dile a Ezequías, el jefe de mi pueblo: Así habla el Señor, el Dios de tu padre David: He oído tu súplica, he visto tus lágrimas. Yo te voy a curar: dentro de tres días subirás a la Casa del Señor.
6 I shal add fifteen years to your life. I shal save you and this city from the king of Assyria's clutches anddefend this city for my sake and my servant David's sake." '	6 Añadiré otros quince años a tu vida; te libraré, a ti y a esta ciudad, de manos del rey de Asiria, y defenderé a esta ciudad por mi honor y el de mi servidor David».
7 'Bring a fig poultice,' Isaiah said; they brought one, applied it to the ulcer, and the king recovered.	7 Luego dijo Isaías: «Traigan un emplasto de higos». Lo trajeron, lo aplicaron sobre la úlcera, y el rey se curó.
8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'What is the sign to tel me that Yahweh wil cure me and that I shal be goingup to the Temple of Yahweh in three days' time?'	8 Entonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: «¿Cuál es la señal de que el Señor me sanará y que dentro de tres días podré subir a la Casa del Señor?».
9 'Here', Isaiah replied, 'is the sign from Yahweh that he wil do what he has said; would you like theshadow to go forward ten steps, or to go back ten steps?'	9 Isaías respondió: «Esta es la señal que te da el Señor para confirmar la palabra que ha pronunciado: ¿La sombra debe avanzar diez grados o retroceder diez grados?
10 'It is easy for the shadow to lengthen ten steps,' Hezekiah replied. 'No, I would rather the shadowwent back ten steps.'	10 Ezequías respondió: «Es fácil para la sombra adelantarse diez grados, pero no que los retroceda».
11 The prophet Isaiah then cal ed on Yahweh, who made the shadow cast by the declining sun on thesteps -- the steps to Ahaz's roof-room -- go back ten steps.	11 El profeta invocó al Señor, y él hizo que la sombra retrocediera los diez grados que había descendido, en el reloj de sol de Ajaz.
12 At that time the king of Babylon, Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan, sent letters and a gift toHezekiah, for he had heard of his il ness and his recovery.	12 En aquel tiempo, Merodac Baladán, hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió una carta y un presente a Ezequías, al enterarse de que había estado enfermo.
13 Hezekiah was delighted at this and showed the ambassadors his entire treasury, the silver, gold,spices, precious oil, his armoury too, and everything to be seen in his storehouses. There was nothing in hispalace or in his whole domain that Hezekiah did not show them.	13 Ezequías se alegró de esto, y mostró a los emisarios la sala del tesoro, la plata, el oro, los perfumes, el aceite precioso, su arsenal y todo lo que se encontraba en sus depósitos. De todo lo que había en su palacio y en sus dominios, no quedó nada que Ezequías no les hiciera ver.
14 The prophet Isaiah then came to King Hezekiah and asked him, 'What have these men said, andwhere have they come from?' Hezekiah answered, 'They have come from a distant country, from Babylon.'	14 Entonces el profeta Isaías se presentó al rey Ezequías y le preguntó: «¿Qué te ha dicho esa gente y de dónde ha venido?». Ezequías respondió: «Vinieron de un país lejano, de Babilonia».
15 Isaiah said, 'What have they seen in your palace?' 'They have seen everything in my palace,'Hezekiah answered. 'There is nothing in my storehouses that I have not shown them.'	15 Isaías preguntó: «¿Qué han visto en tu casa?». Han visto todo lo que hay en mi casa, respondió Ezequías. No hay nada en mis depósitos que no les haya mostrado».
16 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, 'Listen to the word of Yahweh,	16 Entonces Isaías dijo a Ezequías: «Escucha la palabra del Señor:
17 "The days are coming when everything in your palace, everything that your ancestors have amasseduntil now, wil be carried off to Babylon. Not a thing wil be left," Yahweh says.	17 Llegarán los días en que todo lo que hay en tu casa, todo lo que han atesorado tus padres hasta el día de hoy, será llevado a Babilonia. No quedará nada, dice el Señor.
18 "Sons sprung from you, sons fathered by you, wil be abducted to be eunuchs in the palace of theking of Babylon." '	18 Y algunos de tus hijos, de los que han nacido de ti, que tú mismo habrás engendrado, serán tomados para que sirvan como eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia».
19 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, 'This word of Yahweh that you announce is reassuring,' for he was thinking,'And why not? So long as there is peace and security during my lifetime.'	19 Ezequías respondió a Isaías: «Es auspiciosa la palabra del Señor que has pronunciado». Porque se decía a sí mismo: «Mientras yo viva, habrá paz y seguridad».
20 The rest of the history of Hezekiah, al his prowess, how he constructed the pool and the conduit tobring water into the city, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah?	20 El resto de los hechos de Ezequías, sus proezas, todo lo que él hizo, la cisterna y el canal que construyó para llevar el agua a la ciudad, ¿no está escrito en el libro de los Anales de los reyes de Judá?
21 Then Hezekiah fel asleep with his ancestors; his son Manasseh succeeded him.	21 Ezequías fue a descansar con sus padres, y su hijo Manasés reinó en lugar de él.
