NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Solomon was overlord of al the kingdoms from the River to the territory of the Philistines and theEgyptian border. They brought tribute and served him al his life long.	1 Salomón dominaba todos los reinos, desde el Río hasta el país de los filisteos y hasta la frontera de Egipto. Pagaban tributo y servían a Salomón todos los días de su vida.
2 The daily provisions for Solomon were: thirty measures of fine flour and sixty measures of meal,	2 Los víveres de Salomón eran treinta cargas de flor de harina y sesenta cargas de harina cada día,
3 ten fattened oxen, twenty free-grazing oxen, one hundred sheep, besides deer and gazelles, roebucksand fattened poultry.	3 diez bueyes cebados y veinte bueyes de pasto, cien cabezas de ganado menor, aparte los ciervos y gacelas, gamos y las aves cebadas.
4 For he was master of al Transeuphrates -- of all the kings of Transeuphrates from Tiphsah to Gaza --and he enjoyed peace on al his frontiers.	4 Porque dominaba en toda la Transeufratina, desde Tafsaj hasta Gaza, sobre todos los reyes de más acá del Río; tuvo paz en torno a todas sus fronteras.
5 Judah and Israel lived in security, everyone under his vine and his fig tree, from Dan to Beersheba,throughout the lifetime of Solomon.	5 Judá e Israel vivieron en seguridad, cada uno bajo su parra y bajo su higuera, desde Dan hasta Berseba, todos los días de Salomón.
6 And Solomon had four thousand stal s of horses for his chariots and twelve thousand cavalrymen.	6 Tenía Salomón 4.000 establos de caballos para sus carros y 12.000 caballos.
7 These administrators provided the food for Solomon and for al those who were admitted by him to theroyal table, each for the period of a month; they ensured that nothing was wanting.	7 Los gobernadores proveían un mes cada uno al rey Salomón y a todos los que se acercaban a la mesa de Salomón, de modo que nada les faltara.

11 He was wiser than anyone else, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, than the sons of Mahol, Heman, Calcoland Darda; his fame spread to all the surrounding nations.	11 Fue más sabio que hombre alguno, más que Etán el ezrajita, que Hemán, Kalkol y Dardá, hijos de Majol; su nombre se extendió por todos los pueblos circunvecinos.
12 He composed three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered a thousand and five.	12 Pronunció 3.000 parábolas y proverbios, y sus cánticos fueron 1.005.
13 He could discourse on plants from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop growing on the wal ; and hecould discourse on animals and birds and reptiles and fish.	13 Habló sobre las plantas, desde el cedro del Líbano hasta el hisopo que brota en el muro; habló de los cuadrúpedos, de las aves, de los reptiles y de los peces.
14 Men from al nations came to hear Solomon's wisdom, and he received gifts from al the kings in theworld, who had heard of his wisdom.	14 Venían de todos los pueblos para oír la sabiduría de Salomón, y de parte de todos los reyes de la tierra que tuvieron noticia de su sabiduría.
15 Hiram king of Tyre sent an embassy to Solomon, having learnt that he had been anointed king insuccession to his father and because Hiram had always been a friend of David.	15 Jiram, rey de Tiro, envió sus servidores a Salomón, porque oyó que había sido ungido rey en lugar de su padre, y Jiram fue siempre amigo de David.
16 And Solomon sent this message to Hiram,	16 Salomón envió a decir a Jiram:
17 'You are aware that my father David was unable to build a temple for the name of Yahweh his God, onaccount of the wars waged on him from every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.	17 «Sabes bien que mi padre David no pudo edificar una Casa al Nombre de Yahveh su Dios a causa de las guerras en que sus enemigos le envolvieron hasta que Yahveh los puso bajo la planta de sus pies.
18 But now Yahweh my God has given me peace on every side: not one enemy, no calamities.	18 Al presente, Yahveh mi Dios me ha concedido paz por todos lados. No hay adversario ni maldad.
19 I propose, then, to build a temple for the name of Yahweh my God, in accordance with what Yahwehtold my father David, "Your son whom I shall place on your throne to succeed you wil be the man to build atemple for my name."	19 Ahora me he propuesto edificar una Casa al Nombre de Yahveh mi Dios según lo que Yahveh dijo a David mi padre: “El hijo tuyo que yo colocaré en tu lugar sobre tu trono edificará una Casa a mi Nombre.”
20 So now have cedars of Lebanon cut down for me; my servants wil work with your servants, and I shallpay for the hire of your servants at whatever rate you fix. As you know, we have no one as skil ed in felling treesas the Sidonians.'	20 Así pues, ordena que se corten para mí cedros del Líbano. Mis servidores estarán con tus servidores: te pagaré como salario de tus servidores todo lo que me digas, pues tú sabes que no hay nadie entre nosotros que sepa talar los árboles como los sidonios».
21 When Hiram heard what Solomon had said, he was delighted. 'Now blessed be Yahweh,' he said, 'whohas given David a wise son to rule over this great people!'	21 Cuando Jiram oyó las palabras de Salomón se alegró mucho y dijo: «Bendito sea hoy Yahveh, pues ha dado a David un hijo sabio para jefe de este pueblo numeroso».
22 And Hiram sent word to Solomon, 'I have received your message. For my part, I shall supply you withal you require in the way of cedar wood and juniper.	22 Jiram envió a decir a Salomón: «He oído lo que me enviaste a decir. Yo haré cuanto deseas en madera de cedro y de ciprés.
23 Your servants wil bring these down from Lebanon to the sea, and I shal have them towed by sea toany place you name; I shal discharge them there, and you wil take them over. For your part, you wil see to theprovisioning of my household as I desire.'	23 Mis siervos los bajarán desde el Líbano hasta el mar, y yo los pondré en balsas y los llevaré al lugar a que me mandes; allí se soltarán y tú los cargarás, y por tu parte harás según mi deseo dando víveres a mi casa».
24 So Hiram provided Solomon with al the cedar wood and juniper he wanted	24 Jiram dio a Salomón toda la madera de cedro y ciprés que deseaba.
25 while Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand kor of wheat to feed his household, and twenty thousandkor of pure oil. Solomon gave Hiram this every year.	25 Salomón dio a Jiram 20.000 cargas de trigo para la manutención de su casa y 20.000 medidas de oliva molida. Esto daba Salomón a Jiram cada año.
26 Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom as he had promised him; good relations persisted between Solomonand Hiram, and the two of them concluded a treaty.	26 Yahveh dio sabiduría a Salomón, como se lo había prometido, y hubo paz entre Jiram y Salomón pactando una alianza entrambos.
27 King Solomon raised a levy throughout Israel for forced labour: the levy numbered thirty thousand men.	27 Hizo el rey Salomón una leva en todo Israel; la leva fue de 30.000 hombres.
28 He sent these to Lebanon in relays, ten thousand a month; they spent one month in Lebanon and twomonths at home. 31 At the king's orders they quarried huge stones, special stones for the laying of the temple foundations,dressed stones.	31 El rey mandó arrancar grandes piedras, piedras selectas, para fundamentar la Casa con piedras de sillería.
32 Solomon's workmen and Hiram's workmen and the Giblites cut and assembled the wood and stone forthe building of the Temple.	32 Los obreros de Salomón, los obreros de Jiram y los guiblitas cortaron y dispusieron la madera y las piedras para construir la Casa.
