Genesis 3

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 Now, the snake was the most subtle of al the wild animals that Yahweh God had made. It asked thewoman, 'Did God real y say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?'	1 A kígyó azonban ravaszabb volt, mint a föld minden állata, amelyet az Úr Isten alkotott. Azt mondta az asszonynak: »Miért parancsolta meg nektek Isten, hogy a kert egyetlen fájáról se egyetek?«
2 The woman answered the snake, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden.	2 Az asszony azt felelte neki: »A kertben levő fák gyümölcséből ehetünk.
3 But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, "You must not eat it, nor touch it, underpain of death." '	3 Hogy azonban a kert közepén levő fa gyümölcséből ne együnk, és hogy ahhoz ne nyúljunk, azt azért parancsolta meg nekünk Isten, hogy meg ne találjunk halni.«
4 Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die!	4 A kígyó erre azt mondta az asszonynak: »Dehogyis haltok meg!
5 God knows in fact that the day you eat it your eyes wil be opened and you wil be like gods, knowinggood from evil.'	5 Csak tudja Isten, hogy azon a napon, amelyen arról esztek, megnyílik a szemetek, és olyanok lesztek, mint az Isten: tudni fogjátok a jót és a rosszat!«
6 The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for thewisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who waswith her, and he ate it.	6 Mivel az asszony látta, hogy a fa evésre jó, szemre szép és tekintetre gyönyörű, vett a gyümölcséből, evett, adott a férjének is, és ő is evett.
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.	7 Erre megnyílt mindkettőjük szeme. Amikor észrevették, hogy mezítelenek, fügefaleveleket fűztek egybe, és kötényeket készítettek maguknak.
8 The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, andthey hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden.	8 S amint meghallották az Úr Isten szavát, aki a kertben járkált az alkony hűvösén, az ember és a felesége elrejtőztek a kert fái közé az Úr Isten színe elől.
9 But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are you?' he asked.	9 Az Úr Isten azonban szólította az embert: »Hol vagy?«
10 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied. 'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.'	10 Az így válaszolt: »Hallottam szavadat a kertben, és megijedtem, mert mezítelen vagyok, ezért elrejtőztem.«
11 'Who told you that you were naked?' he asked. 'Have you been eating from the tree I forbade you toeat?'	11 Erre megkérdezte tőle: »Ki adta tudtodra, hogy mezítelen vagy? Csak nem ettél arról a fáról, amelyről megparancsoltam neked, hogy ne egyél?«
12 The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ateit.'	12 Az ember azt felelte: »Az asszony, akit mellém adtál, ő adott nekem a fáról, és ettem.«
13 Then Yahweh God said to the woman, 'Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake temptedme and I ate.'	13 Az Úr Isten ekkor megkérdezte az asszonyt: »Miért tetted ezt?« Ő így felelt: »A kígyó rászedett és ettem.«
14 Then Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this, Accursed be you of al animalswild and tame! On your bel y you wil go and on dust you will feed as long as you live.	14 Ekkor az Úr Isten így szólt a kígyóhoz: »Mivel ezt tetted, légy átkozott minden állat és földi vad között; a hasadon járj, és port egyél életed valamennyi napján!
15 I shal put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; it wil bruiseyour head and you wil strike its heel.'	15 Ellenségeskedést vetek közéd és az asszony közé, ivadékod és az ő ivadéka közé: Ő széttiporja fejedet, te pedig a sarkát mardosod.«
16 To the woman he said: I shal give you intense pain in childbearing, you will give birth to your childrenin pain. Your yearning wil be for your husband, and he wil dominate you.	16 Az asszonynak pedig azt mondta: »Megsokasítom gyötrelmeidet és terhességed kínjait! Fájdalommal szüld a gyermekeket! Vágyakozni fogsz a férfi után, és ő uralkodni fog rajtad!«
17 To the man he said, 'Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate from the tree of which Ihad forbidden you to eat, Accursed be the soil because of you! Painful y will you get your food from it as long asyou live.	17 Ádámnak pedig azt mondta: »Mivel hallgattál feleséged szavára, és ettél a fáról, amelyről megparancsoltam, hogy ne egyél, átkozott legyen a föld miattad! Fáradozva élj belőle életed minden napján!
18 It wil yield you brambles and thistles, as you eat the produce of the land.	18 Teremjen az neked tövist és bogáncsot, és edd csak a föld növényeit!
19 By the sweat of your face will you earn your food, until you return to the ground, as you were takenfrom it. For dust you are and to dust you shall return.'	19 Arcod verejtékével edd kenyeredet, míg vissza nem térsz a földbe, amelyből vétettél, – mert por vagy, és visszatérsz a porba!«
20 The man named his wife 'Eve' because she was the mother of all those who live.	20 És elnevezte az ember a feleségét Évának, mert ő lett az anyja minden élőnek.
21 Yahweh God made tunics of skins for the man and his wife and clothed them.	21 Az Úr Isten ezután bőr köntösöket készített az embernek és a feleségének. Felöltöztette őket,
22 Then Yahweh God said, 'Now that the man has become like one of us in knowing good from evil, hemust not be al owed to reach out his hand and pick from the tree of life too, and eat and live for ever!'	22 és azt mondta az Úr Isten: »Íme, az ember olyanná lett, mint egy közülünk: tud jót és rosszat. Most aztán nehogy kinyújtsa a kezét, vegyen az élet fájáról is, egyen, és örökké éljen!«
23 So Yahweh God expelled him from the garden of Eden, to til the soil from which he had been taken.	23 Ezért aztán kiküldte őt az Úr Isten az Éden kertjéből, hogy művelje a földet, amelyből vétetett.
24 He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the great winged creatures andthe fiery flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.	24 Amikor kiűzte az embert, az Éden kertjétől keletre kerubokat és villogó lángpallost állított, hogy őrizzék az élet fájához vezető utat.
