1 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Moab, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because he burned to ashes the bones of Edom's king,	1 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je l’ai décidé et je ne reviendrai pas en arrière. Moab a dépassé les limites du crime: il a brûlé les os du roi d’Édom, il les a réduits en cendres.
2 I will send fire upon Moab, to devour the castles of Kerioth; Moab shall meet death amid uproar and shouts and trumpet blasts.	2 C’est pourquoi j’enverrai le feu dans Moab et il dévorera les palais de Kériyot. Moab périra au milieu de la confusion, des cris de guerre et du son de la trompette.
3 I will root out the judge from her midst, and her princes I will slay with him, says the LORD.	3 J’arracherai de chez lui le souverain et je l’égorgerai avec tous ses princes; c’est Yahvé qui le dit.
4 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Judah, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they spurned the law of the LORD, and did not keep his statutes; Because the lies which their fathers followed have led them astray,	4 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je l’ai décidé et je ne reviendrai pas en arrière. Juda a dépassé les limites du crimes: ils ont rejeté la Loi de Yahvé, ils n’ont pas obéi à ses commandements, ils se sont dévoyés avec les idoles de mensonge que leurs pères avaient suivies.
5 I will send fire upon Judah, to devour the castles of Jerusalem.	5 C’est pourquoi j’enverrai le feu dans Juda et il dévorera les palais de Jérusalem.
6 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they sell the just man for silver, and the poor man for a pair of sandals.	6 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je l’ai décidé et je ne reviendrai pas en arrière. Israël a dépassé les limites du crime: ils vendent le juste à prix d’argent et le pauvre pour une paire de sandales.
7 They trample the heads of the weak into the dust of the earth, and force the lowly out of the way. Son and father go to the same prostitute, profaning my holy name.	7 Ils écrasent la tête des petits sur la poussière du sol, avec eux les humbles ne peuvent rien faire: le fils et le père courent après la même fille et ils profanent mon saint Nom.
8 Upon garments taken in pledge they recline beside any altar; And the wine of those who have been fined they drink in the house of their god.	8 À côté de tous les autels ils s’étendent sur des habits qu’ils ont pris en gage, et dans le temple de leur Dieu ils boivent le vin de ceux qu’ils ont frappés d’amendes.
9 Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorites before them, who were as tall as the cedars, and as strong as the oak trees. I destroyed their fruit above, and their roots beneath.	9 Moi, j’avais détruit devant eux l’Amorite. Il était pourtant grand comme les cèdres, fort comme le chêne; mais je l’ai dénudé de haut en bas depuis les branches jusqu’aux racines.
10 It was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, and who led you through the desert for forty years, to occupy the land of the Amorites:	10 Je vous ai fait monter du pays d’Égypte, et pendant quarante ans, je vous ai conduits dans le désert pour vous donner le pays de l’Amorite.
11 I who raised up prophets among your sons, and nazirites among your young men. Is this not so, O men of Israel? says the LORD.	11 J’ai fait sortir des prophètes d’entre vos fils, j’avais des hommes consacrés parmi vos jeunes gens; n’est-ce pas vrai, enfants d’Israël? Parole de Yahvé.
12 But you gave the nazirites wine to drink, and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.	12 Mais vous avez fait boire du vin à ceux qui m’étaient consacrés, aux prophètes vous avez donné cet ordre: Ne prophétisez plus.
13 Beware, I will crush you into the ground as a wagon crushes when laden with sheaves.	13 Aussi vais-je labourer votre dos comme le chariot plein de gerbes laboure la terre.
14 Flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong man shall not retain his strength; The warrior shall not save his life,	14 L’homme agile n’échappera pas, le fort se retrouvera sans forces, et le meilleur des braves ne sauvera pas sa vie.
15 nor the bowman stand his ground; The swift of foot shall not escape, nor the horseman save his life.	15 L’archer n’osera pas faire face, et l’homme au pied rapide ne se sauvera pas. Même le cavalier, son cheval ne lui sauvera pas la vie.
16 And the most stouthearted of warriors shall flee naked on that day, says the LORD.	16 Le plus courageux d’entre les braves s’enfuira tout nu ce jour-là, parole de Yahvé.
