1 On the first day of the twelfth month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Történt pedig a tizenkettedik esztendőben, a tizenkettedik hónapban, a hónap elsején, hogy az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 Son of man, utter a lament over Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, saying to him: Lion of the nations, you are destroyed. You were like a monster in the sea, spouting in your streams, Stirring the water with your feet and churning its streams.	2 »Emberfia, zengj siralmat a fáraóról, Egyiptom királyáról és ezt mondd neki: Hasonlóvá tetted magadat a nemzetek oroszlánjához, és a tengerben levő krokodilhoz; szarvaddal ökleltél folyamaidban, lábaddal zavarossá tetted a vizet, és tapostad áramlásait.
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will spread my net over you (with a host of many nations), and draw you up in my seine.	3 Ezért így szól az Úr Isten: kiterjesztem feletted hálómat számos népnek sokasága által, és hálómmal kihúznak;
4 I will leave you on the land; on the open field I will cast you. I will have all the birds of the air alight on you, and all the beasts of the earth eat their fill of you.	4 a földre vetlek, a nyílt mezőre kidoblak; rád csődítem az ég madarait mind, és jóllakatom belőled az egész föld vadjait.
5 I will leave your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your carcass.	5 Húsodat a hegyekre vetem, és gennyeddel betöltöm dombjaidat.
6 I will water the land with what flows from you, and the river beds shall be filled with your blood.	6 Megöntözöm bűzös véreddel a földet a hegyek tetején, és a völgyek megtelnek veled.
7 When I snuff you out I will cover the heavens, and all their stars I will darken; The sun I will cover with clouds, and the moon shall not give its light.	7 Amikor majd kialszol, betakarom az eget, és elsötétítem csillagjait; a napot befödöm felhővel, s a hold nem adja világosságát.
8 All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken on your account, And I will spread darkness over your land, says the Lord GOD.	8 Az ég minden világítóját gyászba borítom érted, és sötétséget bocsátok földedre – mondja az Úr Isten –, amikor elhullanak sebesültjeid az ország közepén – mondja az Úr Isten. –
9 I will grieve the hearts of many peoples when I lead you captive among the nations, to lands which you do not know.	9 Megszomorítom a szívét számos népnek, amikor eljuttatom romjaidat a nemzetek közé, oly országokba, amelyekről nem tudsz.
10 Many peoples shall be appalled at you, and their kings shall shudder over you in horror when they see me brandish my sword, and on the day of your downfall every one of them shall continuously tremble for his own life.	10 Döbbenetbe ejtek miattad sok népet, és királyaik szörnyű félelemben remegnek majd miattad, amikor arcuk előtt villogni kezd kardom, és mindenki hirtelen a saját életéért remeg majd romlásod napján.
11 For thus says the Lord GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.	11 Mert így szól az Úr Isten: Babilon királyának kardja jön rád!
12 I will cut down your horde with the blades of warriors, all of them the most ruthless of the nations; They shall lay waste the glory of Egypt, and all her hordes shall be destroyed.	12 Sokaságodat a földre terítem a hősök kardjával; ezek a nemzetek mind legyőzhetetlenek, és semmivé teszik Egyiptom kevélységét, és szétszórják sokaságát.
13 I will have all of her animals perish beside her abundant waters; The foot of man shall stir them no longer, nor shall the hoof of beast disturb them.	13 Kiirtom minden állatát, mely a sok víz mellett lakott; nem zavarja fel többé azokat ember lába, sem állat körme nem kavarja fel.
14 Then will I make their waters clear, and their streams flow like oil, says the Lord GOD.	14 Akkor majd igen tisztává teszem vizeiket, és folyóit úgy ömlesztem, mint az olajat – mondja az Úr Isten –,
15 When I turn Egypt into a waste, the land shall be devastated of all that is in it; when I strike all who live there, they shall know that I am the LORD.	15 amikor sivataggá teszem Egyiptom földjét, az országot pedig elhagyja az, ami betölti, amikor majd megverem valamennyi lakóját, és megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr!
16 This is a dirge, and it shall be sung: the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt and all its hordes shall they chant it, says the Lord GOD.	16 Gyászének ez, és mint gyászdalt éneklik majd. A nemzetek leányai éneklik, Egyiptomról és sokaságáról éneklik« – úgymond az Úr Isten.
17 On the fifteenth day of the first month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	17 Történt pedig a tizenkettedik esztendőben, a hónap tizenötödik napján, hogy az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
18 Son of man, lament over the throngs of Egypt, for the mighty nations have thrust them down to the bottom of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.	18 »Emberfia, énekelj gyászdalt Egyiptom sokaságáról, és vond le őt magát s a hatalmas nemzetek leányait a föld legmélyére, azokhoz, akik leszálltak a verembe.
19 "Whom do you excel in beauty?	19 Kinél vagy te szebb? Szállj le, és pihenj a körülmetéletlenek között!
20 In the midst of those slain by the sword shall they fall, and place shall be made with them for all their hordes. Then from the midst of the nether world, the mighty warriors shall speak to Egypt:	20 Azok közé hullanak majd, akiket a kard ölt meg; a kard már át van adva, lerántják őt és egész népét!
21 Come down, you and your allies, lie with the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword."	21 Beszélnek vele a legerősebb vitézek az alvilág közepéből, akik az ő segítőivel együtt leszálltak, és pihennek a körülmetéletlenek, a kard által megöltek.
22 There is Assyria with all her company, all of them slain,	22 Ott van Asszúr és annak egész sokasága, körülötte vannak sírjaik; mindegyikük meg van ölve, kard által estek el.
23 whose graves have been made in the recesses of the pit; her company is around Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in the land of the living.	23 A verem legmélyén vannak sírjaik, és sokasága sírjai körül van; mindegyikük meg van ölve, kard által estek el, akik egykor rettegésbe ejtették az élők földjét.
24 There is Elam with all her throng about Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword: they have gone down uncircumcised to the bottom of the earth, who spread their terror in the land of the living, and they bear their disgrace with those who go down into the pit;	24 Ott van Élám és annak egész sokasága az ő sírja körül; mindegyikük meg van ölve, kard által estek el, és körülmetéletlenül szálltak le a föld legmélyére, akik rettegésbe ejtették az élők földjét; és most gyalázatukat hordozzák mindazok előtt, akik leszálltak a sírgödörbe.

26 There are Meshech and Tubal and all their throng about her grave, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they spread their terror in the land of the living.	26 Ott van Mesek és Tubál és annak egész sokasága; körülötte vannak sírjai; mind körülmetéletlenek ők és meg vannak ölve, kard által estek el, mert rettegésbe ejtették az élők földjét.
27 They do not lie with the mighty men fallen of old, who went down to the nether world with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads and whose shields were laid over their bones, though the mighty men caused terror in the land of the living.	27 Nem azokkal a hősökkel pihennek ők, akik a hajdankorban estek el, akik fegyvereikkel szálltak le az alvilágba, és fejük alá tették kardjukat; mert csontjukban van a gonoszságuk, mert rettegésére voltak a hősöknek az élők földjén.
28 But in the midst of the uncircumcised shall you lie, with those slain by the sword.	28 Tehát téged is a körülmetéletlenek közt tipornak majd össze, és azok között pihensz, akiket a kard ölt meg.
29 There are Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who despite their might have been placed with those slain by the sword; with the uncircumcised they lie, and with those who go down into the pit.	29 Ott van Edom, annak királyai és minden fejedelme. Seregükkel együtt azok közé jutottak, akiket megölt a kard; a körülmetéletlenek között pihennek, azokkal, akik leszálltak a sírgödörbe.
30 There are all the princes of the north and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain, because of the terror their might inspired; they lie uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bear their disgrace with those who go down to the pit.	30 Ott van Észak összes fejedelme és a szidoniak mind, letaszították őket a megöltekhez; remegnek és megszégyenülnek erejükben. Körülmetéletlenül pihennek azok között, akiket megölt a kard, és gyalázatukat hordozzák mindazok előtt, akik leszálltak a sírgödörbe.
31 When Pharaoh sees these, he shall be comforted for all his hordes slain by the sword--Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord GOD.	31 Meglátja majd ezeket a fáraó, és megvigasztalódik egész sokaságán, amelyet megölt a kard – a fáraó és egész hadserege –, mondja az Úr Isten. –
32 Since he spread his terror in the land of the living, therefore is he laid to rest among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword--Pharaoh and all his hordes, says the Lord GOD.	32 Mert az én félelmemet adom az élők földjére, s a körülmetéletlenek közt pihen majd, azok között, akiket megölt a kard – a fáraó és egész sokasága« – mondja az Úr Isten.
