Ezekiel 32

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 On the first day of the twelfth month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La douzième année, au douzième mois, le premier du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée ences termes:
2 Son of man, utter a lament over Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, saying to him: Lion of the nations, you are destroyed. You were like a monster in the sea, spouting in your streams, Stirring the water with your feet and churning its streams.	2 Fils d'homme, prononce une complainte sur Pharaon, roi d'Egypte. Tu lui diras: Lionceau desnations, te voilà anéanti! Tu étais comme un crocodile dans les mers, tu bondissais dans tes fleuves, tu troublaisl'eau avec tes pattes, tu en agitais les flots.
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will spread my net over you (with a host of many nations), and draw you up in my seine.	3 Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: J'étendrai sur toi mon filet au milieu d'un grand concours depeuples, et ils te tireront dans mon filet.
4 I will leave you on the land; on the open field I will cast you. I will have all the birds of the air alight on you, and all the beasts of the earth eat their fill of you.	4 Je t'abandonnerai sur la terre, je te jetterai à la surface des champs, je ferai reposer sur toi tous lesoiseaux du ciel, je rassasierai de toi toutes les bêtes de la terre.
5 I will leave your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your carcass.	5 Je placerai ta chair sur les montagnes, je remplirai les vallées de tes déchets;
6 I will water the land with what flows from you, and the river beds shall be filled with your blood.	6 j'arroserai le pays de ce qui coulera de toi, de ton sang, sur les montagnes, et tu rempliras lesravins.
7 When I snuff you out I will cover the heavens, and all their stars I will darken; The sun I will cover with clouds, and the moon shall not give its light.	7 Quand tu t'éteindras, je couvrirai les cieux et j'obscurcirai les étoiles; je couvrirai le soleil desnuages et la lune ne donnera plus sa clarté.
8 All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken on your account, And I will spread darkness over your land, says the Lord GOD.	8 J'obscurcirai tous les astres du ciel à cause de toi, je répandrai les ténèbres sur ton pays, oracle duSeigneur Yahvé.
9 I will grieve the hearts of many peoples when I lead you captive among the nations, to lands which you do not know.	9 J'affligerai le coeur de beaucoup de peuples quand je provoquerai ta ruine parmi les nations, dansdes pays que tu ne connais pas.
10 Many peoples shall be appalled at you, and their kings shall shudder over you in horror when they see me brandish my sword, and on the day of your downfall every one of them shall continuously tremble for his own life.	10 Je frapperai de stupeur à ton sujet des peuples nombreux, et leurs rois frémiront d'horreur à causede toi, quand je brandirai mon épée devant eux. Ils trembleront à tout instant, chacun pour sa vie, au jour de tachute.
11 For thus says the Lord GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.	11 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: L'épée du roi de Babylone te poursuivra.
12 I will cut down your horde with the blades of warriors, all of them the most ruthless of the nations; They shall lay waste the glory of Egypt, and all her hordes shall be destroyed.	12 Par l'épée des guerriers, je ferai tomber la multitude de tes sujets. Ce sont les plus barbares desnations; elles anéantiront l'orgueil de l'Egypte, et toute sa multitude sera détruite.
13 I will have all of her animals perish beside her abundant waters; The foot of man shall stir them no longer, nor shall the hoof of beast disturb them.	13 Je ferai périr tout son bétail, au bord des eaux abondantes. Le pied de l'homme ne les troubleraplus, le sabot du bétail ne les troublera plus.
14 Then will I make their waters clear, and their streams flow like oil, says the Lord GOD.	14 Alors je calmerai leurs eaux, je ferai couler leurs fleuves comme de l'huile, oracle du SeigneurYahvé.
15 When I turn Egypt into a waste, the land shall be devastated of all that is in it; when I strike all who live there, they shall know that I am the LORD.	15 Quand je ferai du pays d'Egypte une désolation, et que le pays sera dépouillé de ce qu'il contient,quand je frapperai tous ceux qui l'habitent, ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
16 This is a dirge, and it shall be sung: the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt and all its hordes shall they chant it, says the Lord GOD.	16 Telle est la complainte que crieront les filles des nations. Elles la crieront sur l'Egypte et surtoute sa multitude. Elles crieront cette complainte, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
17 On the fifteenth day of the first month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	17 La douzième année, au premier mois, le quinze du mois, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée ences termes:
18 Son of man, lament over the throngs of Egypt, for the mighty nations have thrust them down to the bottom of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.	18 Fils d'homme, lamente-toi sur la multitude de l'Egypte et fais-la descendre avec les filles desnations, majestueuses, vers le pays souterrain, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
19 "Whom do you excel in beauty?	19 Qui surpasses-tu en beauté? Descends, couche-toi avec les incirconcis.
20 In the midst of those slain by the sword shall they fall, and place shall be made with them for all their hordes. Then from the midst of the nether world, the mighty warriors shall speak to Egypt:	20 Au milieu des victimes de l'épée, ils sont tombés (l'épée a été donnée, on l'a tirée), lui et toutesses multitudes.
21 Come down, you and your allies, lie with the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword."	21 Du milieu du shéol, les plus puissants héros, ses alliés, lui diront: "Ils sont descendus, ils se sontcouchés, les incirconcis, victimes de l'épée!"
22 There is Assyria with all her company, all of them slain,	22 Voilà Assur et toutes ses troupes, avec leurs tombeaux tout autour de lui; ils sont tous tombésvictimes de l'épée,
23 whose graves have been made in the recesses of the pit; her company is around Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in the land of the living.	23 on a mis leurs tombeaux dans les profondeurs de la fosse et ses troupes entourent son tombeau;ils sont tous tombés victimes de l'épée, eux qui répandaient la terreur au pays des vivants.
24 There is Elam with all her throng about Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword: they have gone down uncircumcised to the bottom of the earth, who spread their terror in the land of the living, and they bear their disgrace with those who go down into the pit;	24 Voilà Elam et toute sa multitude autour de son tombeau, tous tombés victimes de l'épée; ils sontdescendus, incirconcis, au pays souterrain, eux qui répandaient la terreur au pays des vivants. Ils ont porté leurdéshonneur avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
25 in the midst of the slain they are placed.	25 On lui a fait une couche au milieu des victimes, parmi toute sa multitude, avec leurs tombeauxautour de lui; ils sont tous des incirconcis, victimes de l'épée pour avoir répandu la terreur au pays des vivants.Ils ont porté leur déshonneur avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse; on les a placés au milieu de ces victimes.
26 There are Meshech and Tubal and all their throng about her grave, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they spread their terror in the land of the living.	26 Voilà Méshek, Tubal et toute sa multitude, avec ses tombeaux autour de lui; ils sont tousincirconcis, victimes de l'épée pour avoir répandu la terreur au pays des vivants.
27 They do not lie with the mighty men fallen of old, who went down to the nether world with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads and whose shields were laid over their bones, though the mighty men caused terror in the land of the living.	27 Ils ne sont pas couchés avec les héros tombés autrefois, ceux qui descendirent au shéol les armesà la main, à qui on a mis leur épée sous la tête et leur bouclier sous leurs ossements, car la terreur des hérosrégnait au pays des vivants.
28 But in the midst of the uncircumcised shall you lie, with those slain by the sword.	28 Mais toi, c'est au milieu des incirconcis que tu seras brisé et que tu te coucheras, parmi lesvictimes de l'épée.
29 There are Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who despite their might have been placed with those slain by the sword; with the uncircumcised they lie, and with those who go down into the pit.	29 Voilà Edom, ses rois et tous ses princes, qui ont été placés, malgré leur vaillance, parmi lesvictimes de l'épée. Ils sont couchés avec les incirconcis, avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
30 There are all the princes of the north and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain, because of the terror their might inspired; they lie uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bear their disgrace with those who go down to the pit.	30 Voilà tous les princes du Nord, tous les Sidoniens, qui sont descendus avec les victimes, à causede la terreur qu'inspirait leur force. Honteux, ils se sont couchés, incirconcis, parmi les victimes de l'épée, et ilsont porté leur déshonneur avec ceux qui descendent dans la fosse.
31 When Pharaoh sees these, he shall be comforted for all his hordes slain by the sword--Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord GOD.	31 Pharaon les verra et il se consolera à la vue de toute cette multitude victime de l'épée, - Pharaonet toute son armée - oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
32 Since he spread his terror in the land of the living, therefore is he laid to rest among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword--Pharaoh and all his hordes, says the Lord GOD.	32 Parce qu'il avait répandu la terreur au pays des vivants, on l'étendra parmi les incirconcis, parmiles victimes de l'épée - Pharaon et toute son armée - oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
