1 On the first day of the twelfth month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 La douzième année, le premier jour du douzième mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 Son of man, utter a lament over Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, saying to him: Lion of the nations, you are destroyed. You were like a monster in the sea, spouting in your streams, Stirring the water with your feet and churning its streams.	2 “Fils d’homme, prononce un chant funèbre sur le Pharaon, roi d’Égypte. Tu diras ceci: Quoi, le lion des nations a disparu? Tu étais comme le dragon des mers; tu faisais bouillonner les eaux, de tes pattes tu en remuais les eaux et tu troublais les flots.
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: I will spread my net over you (with a host of many nations), and draw you up in my seine.	3 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: J’étendrai sur toi mon filet et je te tirerai sur le rivage avec mes cordes.
4 I will leave you on the land; on the open field I will cast you. I will have all the birds of the air alight on you, and all the beasts of the earth eat their fill of you.	4 Je t’abandonnerai sur le sol, je te jetterai sur la face des champs, je ferai descendre sur toi tous les oiseaux du ciel, les bêtes de la terre te dévoreront.
5 I will leave your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your carcass.	5 J’exposerai tes chairs sur les montagnes, je remplirai les vallées de tes restes
6 I will water the land with what flows from you, and the river beds shall be filled with your blood.	6 et j’arroserai le pays de ton sang
7 When I snuff you out I will cover the heavens, and all their stars I will darken; The sun I will cover with clouds, and the moon shall not give its light.	7 au jour de ta mort. Je couvrirai les cieux et j’obscurcirai les étoiles, je couvrirai le soleil de nuages et la lune ne donnera plus sa clarté.
8 All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken on your account, And I will spread darkness over your land, says the Lord GOD.	8 À cause de toi j’éteindrai toutes les étoiles du ciel et je répandrai les ténèbres sur ton pays, parole de Yahvé.
9 I will grieve the hearts of many peoples when I lead you captive among the nations, to lands which you do not know.	9 Beaucoup de peuples seront troublés lorsque j’annoncerai ta ruine à des nations, à des pays que tu ne connaissais pas.
10 Many peoples shall be appalled at you, and their kings shall shudder over you in horror when they see me brandish my sword, and on the day of your downfall every one of them shall continuously tremble for his own life.	10 De nombreux peuples seront frappés d’épouvante en voyant ton sort, leurs rois seront pris de tremblements quand je ferai passer mon épée devant eux; chacun tremblera pour sa vie au jour de ta ruine.
11 For thus says the Lord GOD: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon you.	11 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: L’épée du roi de Babylone arrive chez toi.
12 I will cut down your horde with the blades of warriors, all of them the most ruthless of the nations; They shall lay waste the glory of Egypt, and all her hordes shall be destroyed.	12 Je ferai tomber tes multitudes sous l’épée de ses guerriers, les tombeurs des peuples; ils abattront l’orgueil de l’Égypte et tout son monde sera exterminé.
13 I will have all of her animals perish beside her abundant waters; The foot of man shall stir them no longer, nor shall the hoof of beast disturb them.	13 Je ferai périr tout son bétail au bord des grandes eaux; ni le pied de l’homme ni les sabots du bétail ne les troubleront plus.
14 Then will I make their waters clear, and their streams flow like oil, says the Lord GOD.	14 Alors les eaux d’Égypte se calmeront, ses fleuves couleront comme l’huile - parole de Yahvé.
15 When I turn Egypt into a waste, the land shall be devastated of all that is in it; when I strike all who live there, they shall know that I am the LORD.	15 Je vais ravager l’Égypte; je frapperai ses habitants et elle sera vidée de tout: alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
16 This is a dirge, and it shall be sung: the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt and all its hordes shall they chant it, says the Lord GOD.	16 Voilà le chant funèbre que chanteront les filles des nations; elles le chanteront à propos de l’Égypte et de son peuple, elles chanteront ce chant funèbre, parole de Yahvé.
17 On the fifteenth day of the first month in the twelfth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	17 En la douzième année, le 15 du premier mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
18 Son of man, lament over the throngs of Egypt, for the mighty nations have thrust them down to the bottom of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.	18 “Fils d’homme, lamente-toi sur la gloire de l’Égypte et fais-la descendre vers le séjour des morts avec tous ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
19 "Whom do you excel in beauty?	19 32:20 Oui, elle descendra chez les victimes de l’épée: c’est là qu’on a placé tout son peuple.
20 In the midst of those slain by the sword shall they fall, and place shall be made with them for all their hordes. Then from the midst of the nether world, the mighty warriors shall speak to Egypt:	20 32:21 Alors, du séjour des morts, les plus fameux et les plus puissants lui parleront:
21 Come down, you and your allies, lie with the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword."	21 32:19 “Tu te croyais sans doute au-dessus des autres? Descends donc et couche-toi avec les incirconcis, toi et tes auxiliaires, descendez et couchez-vous avec les incirconcis qui sont tombés sous l’épée.”
22 There is Assyria with all her company, all of them slain,	22 Voilà Assour et toute son armée, ( ) tous massacrés.
23 whose graves have been made in the recesses of the pit; her company is around Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who spread terror in the land of the living.	23 On a placé leurs tombeaux dans les profondeurs du séjour des morts et toute cette armée entoure le tombeau d’Assour, Ceux qui répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants ont tous été massacrés par l’épée.
24 There is Elam with all her throng about Egypt's grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword: they have gone down uncircumcised to the bottom of the earth, who spread their terror in the land of the living, and they bear their disgrace with those who go down into the pit;	24 Voici Élam et tout son peuple regroupé autour de son tombeau. Eux aussi répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants, mais ils ont été massacrés par l’épée; ils sont descendus incirconcis au séjour des morts, emportant leur honte chez ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
25 in the midst of the slain they are placed.	25 ( ) On les a placés au milieu des victimes.
26 There are Meshech and Tubal and all their throng about her grave, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, for they spread their terror in the land of the living.	26 Voici Méchek, voici Toubal et tout son peuple dans les tombeaux qui l’entourent; tous ces incirconcis répandaient la terreur sur la terre des vivants, et puis ils sont tombés sous l’épée.
27 They do not lie with the mighty men fallen of old, who went down to the nether world with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads and whose shields were laid over their bones, though the mighty men caused terror in the land of the living.	27 Tous sont couchés avec les héros d’autrefois, car ces hommes sont descendus au séjour des morts les armes à la main. On a placé leur épée sous leur tête et leur bouclier sous leurs ossements, car c’est leur vaillance qui les faisait craindre sur la terre des vivants.
28 But in the midst of the uncircumcised shall you lie, with those slain by the sword.	28 Mais toi, c’est au milieu des incirconcis que tu te coucheras, avec les victimes de l’épée.
29 There are Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who despite their might have been placed with those slain by the sword; with the uncircumcised they lie, and with those who go down into the pit.	29 Voici Édom, ses rois et ses chefs; malgré leur courage, ils ont été livrés à l’épée comme les autres. Ils sont couchés avec les incirconcis, avec ceux qui descendent dans la tombe.
30 There are all the princes of the north and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain, because of the terror their might inspired; they lie uncircumcised with those slain by the sword and bear their disgrace with those who go down to the pit.	30 Voici tous les princes du nord, et les hommes de Sidon: ils sont descendus avec tout leur prestige, en dépit de leur vaillance. Ils sont couchés incirconcis au milieu des victimes de l’épée, ils ont emporté leur honte chez ceux qui descendent à la tombe.
31 When Pharaoh sees these, he shall be comforted for all his hordes slain by the sword--Pharaoh and all his army, says the Lord GOD.	31 En les voyant le Pharaon se consolera de son armée tombée sous l’épée - parole de Yahvé.
32 Since he spread his terror in the land of the living, therefore is he laid to rest among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword--Pharaoh and all his hordes, says the Lord GOD.	32 Lui qui répandait la terreur sur la terre des vivants, on le couchera parmi les incirconcis, parmi les victimes de l’épée, et avec lui toute son armée - parole de Yahvé.
