Jeremiah 47

1 This is the word that came from the LORD to the prophet Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh attacked Gaza:	1 Parola detta dal Signore a Geremia profeta contro i Filistei, prima che Faraone espugnasse Gaza.

5 Gaza is shaved bald, Ashkelon is reduced to silence; Ashdod, the remnant of their strength, how long will you gash yourself?	5 Gaza è diventata calva: Ascalone è taciturna, e quel, che resta della lor valle. Fino a quando ti farai delle ferite?
6 Alas, sword of the LORD! how long till you find rest? Return into your scabbard; stop, be still!	6 Non avrai tu posa giammai, o spada del Signore? rientra nel fodero, raffreddati, e sta in quiete.
7 How can it find rest when the LORD has commanded it? Against Ashkelon and the seashore he has appointed it.	7 E come starà ella in quiete, mentre il Signore le ha dati ordini contro Ascalone, e contro le sue regioni marittime, e ivi le ha prescritto di agire?
