Isaiah 27

1 On that day, The LORD will punish with his sword that is cruel, great, and strong, Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the coiled serpent; and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.	1 In quel giorno il Signore colla sua spada tagliente, e grande, e forte farà vendetta di Leviathan grosso serpente, di Leviathan serpente tortuoso, e ucciderà la balena, che sta nel mare.
2 On that day-- The pleasant vineyard, sing about it!	2 In quel di si canterà (un cantico) alla vigna del vino prelibato.
3 I, the LORD, am its keeper, I water it every moment; Lest anyone harm it, night and day I guard it.	3 Son io il Signore, che la custodisco ed io assiduamente la irrigherò: perchè ella non sia danneggiata, di notte, e di giorno la custodisco.
4 I am not angry, but if I were to find briers and thorns, In battle I should march against them; I should burn them all.	4 Non è in me iracondia: Chi mi farà una spina, e un pruno? Le anderò io contro a farle guerra? Le metterò io anche il fuoco?
5 Or shall he cling to me for refuge? He must make peace with me; peace shall he make with me!	5 O piuttosto non ratterrà ella la mia possanza, farà pace a me, a me farà pace?
6 In days to come Jacob shall take root, Israel shall sprout and blossom, covering all the world with fruit.	6 Quelli, che con fervore vengono a trovar Giacobbe, faran fiorire, e pullulare Israele, e riempiranno tutta la terra di posterità.
7 Is he to be smitten as his smiter was smitten? or slain as his slayer was slain?	7 Dio lo ha forse percosso, com'ei lo maltrattò? Od è egli stato ucciso, com'egli uccise i morti del Signore?
8 Expunging and expelling, I should strive against them, carrying them off with my cruel wind in time of storm.	8 Con misura rimisurata farai giudizio contro di lei quand'ella sarà rigettata. Egli ha fatte col suo spirito di rigore le sue risoluzioni pel dì dell'ardore.
9 This, then, shall be the expiation of Jacob's guilt, this the whole fruit of the removal of his sin: He shall pulverize all the stones of the altars like pieces of chalk; no sacred poles or incense altars shall stand.	9 Per questo cosi sarà perdonata la sua iniquità alla casa di Giacobbe, e tutto il frutto è questo, che sia tolto il peccato di lei, quando (Dio) avrà ridotte tutte le pietre dell'altare come si stritolano le pietre ridotte in calcina, e aneleranno per terra i boschetti, e i templi profani.
10 For the fortified city shall be desolate, an abandoned pasture, a forsaken wilderness, where calves shall browse and lie. Its boughs shall be destroyed,	10 Imperocché la città forte sarà desolata, la citta bella sarà abbandonata, e sarà lasciata vuota come un deserto: ivi pascerà il vitello, ed ivi si sdraierà, e mangerà le punte de' suoi tralci.
11 its branches shall wither and be broken off, and women shall come to build a fire with them. This is not an understanding people; therefore their maker shall not spare them, nor shall he who formed them have mercy on them.	11 Le sue ricolte saranno guaste per la siccità. Verran delle donne a farla con lei da maestre. Imperocché questo popolo non è saggio; per questo colui, che lo fece, non né avrà misericordia; e colui, che lo formò, non gli perdonerà.
12 On that day, The LORD shall beat out the grain between the Euphrates and the Wadi of Egypt, and you shall be gleaned one by one, O sons of Israel.	12 E in quel di il Signore farà sentire il suo flagello, dall'alveo del fiume fino al torrente di Egitto, e voi vi raunerete ad uno ad uno, o figliuoli d'Israele.
13 On that day, A great trumpet shall blow, and the lost in the land of Assyria and the outcasts in the land of Egypt Shall come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.	13 E in quel dì suonerà una gran tromba, e verranno dalla terra degli Assiri gli esuli, e que' che erano stati gettati nella terra d'Egitto, e adoreranno il Signore sul monte santo di Gerusalemme.
