Isaiah 27

1 On that day, The LORD will punish with his sword that is cruel, great, and strong, Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the coiled serpent; and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.	1 IN quel giorno il Signore farà punizione, con la sua dura, grande, e forte spada, di Leviatan, serpente guizzante, e di Leviatan, serpente torto; ed ucciderà la balena che è nel mare.
2 On that day-- The pleasant vineyard, sing about it!	2 In quel giorno, cantate della vigna del vin vermiglio.
3 I, the LORD, am its keeper, I water it every moment; Lest anyone harm it, night and day I guard it.	3 Io, il Signore, la guardo; io l’adacquerò ad ogni momento; io la guarderò giorno e notte, acciocchè niun la danneggi.
4 I am not angry, but if I were to find briers and thorns, In battle I should march against them; I should burn them all.	4 Niuna ira è in me. Chi metterà in battaglia contro a me vepri e pruni? io li calcherò, e li abbrucerò tutti quanti.
5 Or shall he cling to me for refuge? He must make peace with me; peace shall he make with me!	5 Arresterebbe alcuno la mia forza? faccia pur pace meco, faccia pur pace meco.
6 In days to come Jacob shall take root, Israel shall sprout and blossom, covering all the world with fruit.	6 Ne’ giorni a venire Giacobbe metterà radice, Israele fiorirà, e germoglierà; ed empieranno di frutto la faccia del mondo
7 Is he to be smitten as his smiter was smitten? or slain as his slayer was slain?	7 L’ha egli percosso secondo le percosse di quelli ch’egli percuote? è egli stato ucciso secondo l’uccisione di quelli ch’egli uccide?
8 Expunging and expelling, I should strive against them, carrying them off with my cruel wind in time of storm.	8 Tu contenderai con lei con misura, quando tu la manderai via; egli l’ha cacciata col suo vento impetuoso, nel giorno del vento orientale.
9 This, then, shall be the expiation of Jacob's guilt, this the whole fruit of the removal of his sin: He shall pulverize all the stones of the altars like pieces of chalk; no sacred poles or incense altars shall stand.	9 In questo modo adunque sarà purgata l’iniquità di Giacobbe, e questo sarà tutto il frutto; cioè: che il suo peccato sarà tolto via, quando egli avrà ridotte tutte le pietre degli altari come pietre di calcina stritolate; ed i boschi e le statue non saranno più in piè.
10 For the fortified city shall be desolate, an abandoned pasture, a forsaken wilderness, where calves shall browse and lie. Its boughs shall be destroyed,	10 Perciocchè le città forti saranno solitarie, e le case saranno abbandonate, e lasciate come un deserto; ivi pasturerà il vitello, ed ivi giacerà, e mangerà interamente i rami che vi saranno.
11 its branches shall wither and be broken off, and women shall come to build a fire with them. This is not an understanding people; therefore their maker shall not spare them, nor shall he who formed them have mercy on them.	11 Quando i rami che vi saranno, saranno secchi, saranno rotti, e le donne verranno, e li arderanno; conciossiachè questo popolo non sia un popolo d’intendimento; perciò colui che l’ha fatto non ne avrà pietà, e colui che l’ha formato non ne avrà mercè.
12 On that day, The LORD shall beat out the grain between the Euphrates and the Wadi of Egypt, and you shall be gleaned one by one, O sons of Israel.	12 In quel giorno adunque avverrà che il Signore scoterà dal letto del fiume, fino al torrente di Egitto; e voi, figliuoli d’Israele, sarete raccolti ad uno ad uno.
13 On that day, A great trumpet shall blow, and the lost in the land of Assyria and the outcasts in the land of Egypt Shall come and worship the LORD on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.	13 Ma in quel giorno avverrà che si sonerà con una gran tromba, e quelli ch’erano stati perduti nel paese di Assiria, e quelli ch’erano stati scacciati nel paese di Egitto verranno, e adoreranno il Signore, nel monte santo, in Gerusalemme
