NEW AMERICAN BIBLENEW JERUSALEM
A psalm of the Korahites. A song. The LORD loves the city founded on holy mountains,1 [Of the sons of Korah Psalm Song] With its foundations on the holy mountains,
Loves the gates of Zion more than any dwelling in Jacob.2 Yahweh loves his city, he prefers the gates of Zion to any dwel ing-place in Jacob.
Glorious things are said of you, O city of God! Selah3 He speaks of glory for you, city of God,Pause
From Babylon and Egypt I count those who acknowledge the LORD. Philistia, Ethiopia, Tyre, of them it can be said: "This one was born there."4 'I number Rahab and Babylon among those that acknowledge me; look at Tyre, Philistia, Ethiopia, soand so was born there.'
But of Zion it must be said: "They all were born here." The Most High confirms this;5 But of Zion it wil be said, 'Every one was born there,' her guarantee is the Most High.
the Lord notes in the register of the peoples: "This one was born here." Selah6 Yahweh in his register of peoples wil note against each, 'Born there',Pause
So all sing in their festive dance: "Within you is my true home."7 princes no less than native-born; all make their home in you.
