1 For the director. Do not destroy. A miktam of David, when Saul sent people to watch his house and kill him.	1 Zborovođi. Po napjevu »Ne pogubi!« Davidov. Miktam. Kad je Šaul opkolio kuću da ubije Davida.
2 Rescue me from my enemies, my God; lift me out of reach of my foes.	2 Izbavi me od dušmana, Bože moj, zaštiti me od mojih protivnika!
3 Deliver me from evildoers; from the bloodthirsty save me.	3 Izbavi me od bezakonikâ, od krvolokâ spasi me!
4 They have set an ambush for my life; the powerful conspire against me. For no offense or misdeed of mine, LORD,	4 Jer evo: dušu moju vrebaju, na me ustadoše silnici. Nema na meni krivnje, o Jahve, ni grijeha:
5 for no fault they hurry to take up arms. Come near and see my plight!	5 bez moje krivnje na me nasrću. Probudi se! Dođi mi u pomoć i pogledaj,
6 You, LORD of hosts, are the God of Israel! Awake! Punish all the nations. Have no mercy on these worthless traitors. Selah	6 Jahve, Bože nad vojskama, Bože Izraelov! Preni se, kazni sve pogane, podlacima nemoj se smilovati!
7 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	7 Uvečer se vraćaju, reže poput pasa i trče po gradu.
8 Their mouths pour out insult; sharp words are on their lips. They say: "Who is there to hear?"	8 Gle, kako bljuju ustima; kletve su im na usnama i govore: »Tko nas čuje?«
9 You, LORD, laugh at them; you deride all the nations.	9 No, ti im se smiješ, o Jahve, i rugaš se poganima svima.
10 My strength, for you I watch; you, God, are my fortress,	10 Jakosti moja, gledat ću na te, jer ti si, Bože, zaštita moja, Bog moj, milosrđe moje.
11 my loving God.	11 Bog neka mi pohiti ususret, nek’ me razveseli nad dušmanima mojim!
12 May God go before me, and show me my fallen foes. Slay them, God, lest they deceive my people. Shake them by your power; Lord, our shield, bring them down.	12 Pobij ih, Bože, da mi narod ne zavode, zbuni i obori ih jakošću svojom, štite naš, Gospodine.
13 For the sinful words of their mouths and lips let them be caught in their pride. For the lies they have told under oath	13 Grijeh je svaka riječ usta njihovih: nek se uhvate u svoju oholost, u kletve i laži što ih govore!
14 destroy them in anger, destroy till they are no more. Then people will know God rules over Jacob, yes, even to the ends of the earth. Selah	14 Istrijebi ih u gnjevu, istrijebi da nestanu, nek’ se zna da Bog vlada u Jakovu i do nakraj zemlje!
15 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	15 Uvečer se vraćaju, reže poput pasa i trče po gradu.
16 They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl.	16 Nek’ lutaju okolo tražeći hranu; i kad se nasite, neka zavijaju.
17 But I shall sing of your strength, extol your love at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble.	17 A ja ću opjevati silu tvoju i klicat ću jutrom milosrđu tvome, jer mi ti postade utočište i sklonište u dan nevolje.
18 My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God.	18 Jakosti moja, tebi ću pjevati, jer ti si, Bože, zaštita moja, Bog moj, milosrđe moje.
