Psalms 59

1 For the director. Do not destroy. A miktam of David, when Saul sent people to watch his house and kill him.	1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת לְדָוִד מִכְתָּם בִּשְׁלֹחַ שָׁאוּל וַיִּשְׁמְרוּ אֶת־הַבַּיִת לַהֲמִיתֹו
2 Rescue me from my enemies, my God; lift me out of reach of my foes.	2 הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי ׀ אֱלֹהָי מִּמִתְקֹומְמַי תְּשַׂגְּבֵנִי
3 Deliver me from evildoers; from the bloodthirsty save me.	3 הַצִּילֵנִי מִפֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן וּמֵאַנְשֵׁי דָמִים הֹושִׁיעֵנִי
4 They have set an ambush for my life; the powerful conspire against me. For no offense or misdeed of mine, LORD,	4 כִּי הִנֵּה אָרְבוּ לְנַפְשִׁי יָגוּרוּ עָלַי עַזִים לֹא־פִשְׁעִי וְלֹא־חַטָּאתִי יְהוָה
5 for no fault they hurry to take up arms. Come near and see my plight!	5 בְּלִי־עָוֹן יְרוּצוּן וְיִכֹּונָנוּ עוּרָה לִקְרָאתִי וּרְאֵה
6 You, LORD of hosts, are the God of Israel! Awake! Punish all the nations. Have no mercy on these worthless traitors. Selah	6 וְאַתָּה יְהוָה־אֱלֹהִים ׀ צְבָאֹות אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הָקִיצָה לִפְקֹד כָּל־הַגֹּויִם אַל־תָּחֹן כָּל־בֹּגְדֵי אָוֶן סֶלָה
7 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	7 יָשׁוּבוּ לָעֶרֶב יֶהֱמוּ כַכָּלֶב וִיסֹובְבוּ עִיר
8 Their mouths pour out insult; sharp words are on their lips. They say: "Who is there to hear?"	8 הִנֵּה ׀ יַבִּיעוּן בְּפִיהֶם חֲרָבֹות בְּשִׂפְתֹותֵיהֶם כִּי־מִי שֹׁמֵעַ
9 You, LORD, laugh at them; you deride all the nations.	9 וְאַתָּה יְהוָה תִּשְׂחַק־לָמֹו תִּלְעַג לְכָל־גֹּויִם
10 My strength, for you I watch; you, God, are my fortress,	10 עֻזֹּו אֵלֶיךָ אֶשְׁמֹרָה כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מִשְׂגַּבִּי
11 my loving God.	11 אֱלֹהֵי [חַסְדֹּו כ] (חַסְדִּי ק) יְקַדְּמֵנִי אֱלֹהִים יַרְאֵנִי בְשֹׁרְרָי
12 May God go before me, and show me my fallen foes. Slay them, God, lest they deceive my people. Shake them by your power; Lord, our shield, bring them down.	12 אַל־תַּהַרְגֵם ׀ פֶּן־יִשְׁכְּחוּ עַמִּי הֲנִיעֵמֹו בְחֵילְךָ וְהֹורִידֵמֹו מָגִנֵּנוּ אֲדֹנָי
13 For the sinful words of their mouths and lips let them be caught in their pride. For the lies they have told under oath	13 חַטַּאת־פִּימֹו דְּבַר־שְׂפָתֵימֹו וְיִלָּכְדוּ בִגְאֹונָם וּמֵאָלָה וּמִכַּחַשׁ יְסַפֵּרוּ
14 destroy them in anger, destroy till they are no more. Then people will know God rules over Jacob, yes, even to the ends of the earth. Selah	14 כַּלֵּה בְחֵמָה כַּלֵּה וְאֵינֵמֹו וְיֵדְעוּ כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מֹשֵׁל בְּיַעֲקֹב לְאַפְסֵי הָאָרֶץ סֶלָה
15 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	15 וְיָשׁוּבוּ לָעֶרֶב יֶהֱמוּ כַכָּלֶב וִיסֹובְבוּ עִיר
16 They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl.	16 הֵמָּה [יְנוּעוּן כ] (יְנִיעוּן ק) לֶאֱכֹל אִם־לֹא יִשְׂבְּעוּ וַיָּלִינוּ
17 But I shall sing of your strength, extol your love at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble.	17 וַאֲנִי ׀ אָשִׁיר עֻזֶּךָ וַאֲרַנֵּן לַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ כִּי־הָיִיתָ מִשְׂגָּב לִי וּמָנֹוס בְּיֹום צַר־לִי
18 My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God.	18 עֻזִּי אֵלֶיךָ אֲזַמֵּרָה כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מִשְׂגַּבִּי אֱלֹהֵי חַסְדִּי
	19 וְיִירְאוּ מִמַּעֲרָב אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה וּמִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁ אֶת־כְּבֹודֹו כִּי־יָבֹוא כַנָּהָר צָר רוּחַ יְהוָה נֹסְסָה בֹו
	20 וּבָא לְצִיֹּון גֹּואֵל וּלְשָׁבֵי פֶשַׁע בְּיַעֲקֹב נְאֻם יְהוָה
	21 וַאֲנִי זֹאת בְּרִיתִי אֹותָם אָמַר יְהוָה רוּחִי אֲשֶׁר עָלֶיךָ וּדְבָרַי אֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתִּי בְּפִיךָ לֹא־יָמוּשׁוּ מִפִּיךָ וּמִפִּי זַרְעֲךָ וּמִפִּי זֶרַע זַרְעֲךָ אָמַר יְהוָה מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עֹולָם׃ ס
