2 Rescue me from my enemies, my God; lift me out of reach of my foes.	2 Ments meg ellenségeimtől, Isten, támadóimtól szabadíts meg engem!
3 Deliver me from evildoers; from the bloodthirsty save me.	3 Ments meg a gonosztevőktől, oltalmazz meg a vérengző emberektől!
4 They have set an ambush for my life; the powerful conspire against me. For no offense or misdeed of mine, LORD,	4 Mert íme, életemre leselkednek, rám rohannak az erősek.
5 for no fault they hurry to take up arms. Come near and see my plight!	5 Bár nincs bennem sem bűn, sem gonoszság, Uram, bűn nélkül járom egyenes utamat. Kelj fel, állj elém és lásd;
6 You, LORD of hosts, are the God of Israel! Awake! Punish all the nations. Have no mercy on these worthless traitors. Selah	6 Hisz Uram, a seregek Istene te vagy, Izrael Istene. Siess, látogasd meg e nemzeteket mind, ne könyörülj senkin, aki gonoszat cselekszik!
7 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	7 Minden este megjelennek, mint az éhes kutyák, s a várost körös-körül bejárják.
8 Their mouths pour out insult; sharp words are on their lips. They say: "Who is there to hear?"	8 Íme egyre jártatják szájukat, kard van ajkukon: »hiszen ki hallja meg?«
9 You, LORD, laugh at them; you deride all the nations.	9 Ám te, Uram, kineveted őket, megsemmisíted mind e nemzeteket.
10 My strength, for you I watch; you, God, are my fortress,	10 Én erősségem, terád figyelek, mert te vagy én oltalmam, Istenem.
11 my loving God.	11 Istenem, akinek irgalma megelőz engem.
12 May God go before me, and show me my fallen foes. Slay them, God, lest they deceive my people. Shake them by your power; Lord, our shield, bring them down.	12 Isten megadja nekem, hogy elnézzek ellenségeim fölött. Ne öld meg őket, hogy népem meg ne feledkezzék; de hatalmaddal szórd szerteszét és alázd meg őket, Uram, én oltalmazóm!
13 For the sinful words of their mouths and lips let them be caught in their pride. For the lies they have told under oath	13 Szájuk vétke, ajkuk beszéde, saját kevélységük ejtse őket tőrbe! Átkozódásukért, hazug beszédükért
14 destroy them in anger, destroy till they are no more. Then people will know God rules over Jacob, yes, even to the ends of the earth. Selah	14 veszítsd el őket haragodban, pusztítsd el, ne legyenek többé; Hadd tudják meg, hogy Isten uralkodik Jákobon, s a föld kerekségén!
15 Each evening they return, growling like dogs, prowling the city.	15 Minden este megjelennek és ugatnak, mint a kutyák, s a várost körös-körül bejárják;
16 They roam about as scavengers; if they are not filled, they howl.	16 Étel után barangolnak, és üvöltenek, ha jól nem laknak.
17 But I shall sing of your strength, extol your love at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble.	17 Én azonban hatalmadat énekelem, minden reggel magasztalom irgalmadat, mivel te oltalmazóm voltál, és menedékem sanyargatásom napján.
18 My strength, your praise I will sing; you, God, are my fortress, my loving God.	18 Én erősségem, neked zengem énekem, mert te, Isten, oltalmazóm vagy nekem: Istenem, én irgalmasságom!
