For the leader. Of David, the servant of the LORD.1 [For the choirmaster Of the servant of Yahweh Of David] Sin is the oracle of the wicked in the depthsof his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes.
Sin directs the heart of the wicked; their eyes are closed to the fear of God.2 He sees himself with too flattering an eye to detect and detest his guilt;
For they live with the delusion: their guilt will not be known and hated.3 al he says is malicious and deceitful, he has turned his back on wisdom. To get his way
Empty and false are the words of their mouth; they have ceased to be wise and do good.4 he hatches malicious plots even in his bed; once set on his evil course no wickedness is too much forhim.
In their beds they hatch plots; they set out on a wicked way; they do not reject evil.5 Yahweh, your faithful love is in the heavens, your constancy reaches to the clouds,
LORD, your love reaches to heaven; your fidelity, to the clouds.6 your saving justice is like towering mountains, your judgements like the mighty deep. Yahweh, yousupport both man and beast;
Your justice is like the highest mountains; your judgments, like the mighty deep; all living creatures you sustain, LORD.7 how precious, God, is your faithful love. So the children of Adam take refuge in the shadow of yourwings.
How precious is your love, O God! We take refuge in the shadow of your wings.8 They feast on the bounty of your house, you let them drink from your delicious streams;
We feast on the rich food of your house; from your delightful stream you give us drink.9 in you is the source of life, by your light we see the light.
For with you is the fountain of life, and in your light we see light.10 Maintain your faithful love to those who acknowledge you, and your saving justice to the honest ofheart.
Continue your kindness toward your friends, your just defense of the honest heart.11 Do not let the foot of the arrogant overtake me or wicked hands drive me away.
Do not let the foot of the proud overtake me, nor the hand of the wicked disturb me.12 There they have fallen, the evil-doers, flung down, never to rise again.
There make the evildoers fall; thrust them down, never to rise.
