1 Cantico dei gradi. Signore, non si è insuperbito il mio cuore: ed alti non portai gli occhi miei.	1 [Song of Ascents] From the depths I cal to you, Yahweh:
2 Né aspirai a cose grandi, né a cose meravigliose sopra la mia capacità.	2 Lord, hear my cry. Listen attentively to the sound of my pleading!
3 Se io (dando luogo al fasto nell'anima mia) non ebbi bassi sentimenti,	3 If you kept a record of our sins, Lord, who could stand their ground?
4 Quali son quei d'un fanciullo divezzato di fresco verso sua madre; cosi sia data a me la mercede.	4 But with you is forgiveness, that you may be revered.
5 Nel Signore speri Israele da questo punto, e pe' secoli.	5 I rely, my whole being relies, Yahweh, on your promise.
	6 My whole being hopes in the Lord, more than watchmen for daybreak; more than watchmen fordaybreak
	7 let Israel hope in Yahweh. For with Yahweh is faithful love, with him generous ransom;
	8 and he wil ransom Israel from al its sins.
