1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:	1 Così parlò Gesù e, levati gli occhi al cielo, disse: "Padre, l'ora è venuta. Glorifica il Figlio tuo affinché il Figlio glorifichi te.
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.	2 Come gli hai dato potere su ogni carne, dia egli la vita eterna a tutti coloro che tu gli hai dato.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.	3 Questa è la vita eterna: che conoscano te, il solo vero Dio, e colui che tu hai mandato, Gesù Cristo.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.	4 Io ti ho glorificato sulla terra, avendo compiuta l'opera che tu mi hai dato da fare.
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.	5 Ora glorificami tu, Padre, davanti a te, con la gloria che io avevo presso di te prima che il mondo fosse.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.	6 Ho manifestato il tuo nome agli uomini che mi hai dato dal mondo. Erano tuoi e li hai dati a me, e hanno osservato la tua parola.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.	7 Ora essi sanno che tutto quanto mi hai dato viene da te,
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.	8 perché le parole che tu mi hai date io le ho date a loro ed essi le hanno accolte e sanno veramente che sono uscito da te e hanno creduto che tu mi hai mandato".
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.	9 "Io prego per loro; non prego per il mondo, ma per coloro che tu mi hai dato, perché sono tuoi.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.	10 Tutto ciò che è mio è tuo e quello che è tuo è mio, e io sono stato glorificato in loro.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.	11 Io non sono più nel mondo, ma essi sono nel mondo, mentre io vengo a te. Padre santo, conservali nel tuo nome che mi hai dato, affinché siano uno come noi.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.	12 Quando ero con loro, io li ho conservati nel tuo nome che mi hai dato e li ho custoditi e nessuno di loro si è perduto, eccetto il figlio della perdizione, affinché si adempisse la Scrittura.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.	13 Ora vengo a te e queste cose dico mentre sono nel mondo, affinché abbiano in loro la mia gioia in pienezza.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.	14 Io ho dato loro la tua parola e il mondo li ha odiati, perché non sono del mondo come io non sono del mondo.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.	15 Non ti chiedo che li tolga dal mondo, ma che li preservi dal maligno.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.	16 Essi non sono del mondo, come io non sono del mondo.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.	17 Consacrali nella verità. La tua parola è verità.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.	18 Come tu mi hai mandato nel mondo, così anch'io li ho mandati nel mondo.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.	19 E per loro consacro me stesso, affinché siano anch'essi consacrati nella verità".
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;	20 "Non prego solo per costoro, ma anche per coloro che crederanno in me mediante la loro parola:
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.	21 che tutti siano uno come tu, Padre, in me ed io in te, affinché siano anch'essi in noi, così che il mondo creda che tu mi hai mandato.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:	22 Io ho dato loro la gloria che tu mi hai data, perché siano uno come noi siamo uno:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.	23 io in loro e tu in me, perché siano perfetti nell'unità, e il mondo riconosca che tu mi hai mandato e li hai amati come hai amato me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.	24 Padre, voglio che anche quelli che tu mi hai dato siano con me, dove sono io, affinché contemplino la mia gloria, quella che tu mi hai dato, poiché mi hai amato prima della creazione del mondo.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.	25 Padre giusto, il mondo non ti ha conosciuto, io invece ti ho conosciuto e costoro hanno riconosciuto che tu mi hai mandato.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.	26 Io ho fatto loro conoscere il tuo nome e continuerò a farlo conoscere, affinché l'amore con cui tu mi hai amato sia in essi, ed io in loro".
