KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:1 When Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.2 just as you gave him authority over all people, so that he may give eternal life to all you gave him.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.3 Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.4 I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.5 Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began.
I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.6 "I revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.
Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.7 Now they know that everything you gave me is from you,
For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.8 because the words you gave to me I have given to them, and they accepted them and truly understood that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me.
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.9 I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for the ones you have given me, because they are yours,
And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.10 and everything of mine is yours and everything of yours is mine, and I have been glorified in them.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.11 And now I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, while I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are.
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.12 When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled.
And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.13 But now I am coming to you. I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy completely.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.14 I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.16 They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.17 Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.18 As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.19 And I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;20 "I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.21 so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:22 And I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.23 I in them and you in me, that they may be brought to perfection as one, that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.24 Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.25 Righteous Father, the world also does not know you, but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.26 I made known to them your name and I will make it known, that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in them."
