1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:	1 Così parlò Gesù e alzati gli occhi al cielo, disse: Padre, è giunto il tempo, glorifica il tuo figliuolo, onde anche il tuo figliuolo glorifichi te:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.	2 Siccome hai data a lui potestà sopra tutti gli uomini, affinchè egli dia la vita eterna a tatti quelli, che a lui hai consegnati.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.	3 Or la vita eterna si è, che conoscano te, solo vero Dio, e Gesù Cristo mandato da te.
4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.	4 Io ti ho glorificato in terra: ho compito l'opera, che mi desti da fare:
5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.	5 E adesso glorifica me, o Padre, presso a te stesso con quella gloria, che ebbi presso di te, prima che il mondo fosse.
6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.	6 Ho manifestato il tuo nome a quegli uomini, che a me consegnasti del mondo; eran tuoi, e gli hai dati a me: e hanno osservato la tua parola.
7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.	7 Adesso hanno conosciuto, che tutto quello, che hai dato a me, viene da te:
8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.	8 Perché le parole, che desti a me, le ho io date a loro: ed essi le hanno ricevute, e hanno veramente conosciuto, che sono uscito da te, e hanno creduto che tu mi hai mandato.
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.	9 Per essi io prego: Non prego pel mondo, ma per quelli, che hai dati a me; perché sono tuoi:
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.	10 E tutte le cose mie sono tue, e le tue mie: e da essi sono stato glorificato,
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.	11 E io già non sono nel mondo, o questi sono nel mondo, ed io tengo a te. Padre santo, custodisci nel nome tuo quelli, che hai a me consegnati, affinchè siano una cosa sola, come noi.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.	12 Quando io era con essi nel mondo, io li custodiva nel nome tuo. Ho conservato quelli, che a me consegnasti: e nissuno di essi è perito, eccetto quel fìgliuol di perdizione, affinchè si adempisse la Scrittura.
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.	13 Adesso poi vengo a te: e tali cose dico, essendo nel mondo, affinchè abbiano in se stessi compito il mio gaudio.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.	14 Io ho comunicato loro la tua parola, e il mondo gli ha odiati, perché non sono del mondo, siccome io non sono del mondo.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.	15 Non chiedo, che tu li tolga dal mondo, ma che li guardi dal male.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.	16 Eglino non sono del mondo, come io non sono del mondo.
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.	17 Santificali nella verità. La parola tua è verità.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.	18 Siccome tu hai mandato me nel mondo, cosi io ho mandato loro nel mondo.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.	19 E per amor loro io santifico me stesso: affinchè essi pure siano santificati nella verità.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;	20 Né io prego solamente per questi, ma anche per coloro, i quali per la loro parola crederanno in me:
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.	21 Che siano tutti una sola cosa, come tu sei in me, o Padre, ed io in te, che siano anche essi una sola cosa in noi: onde creda il mondo, che tu mi hai mandato.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:	22 E la gloria, che tu desti a me, la ho io data ad essi: affinchè siano una sola cosa, come una sola cosa siam noi.
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.	23 Io in essi, e tu in me: affinchè siam consumati nell'unità: e affinchè conosca il mondo, che tu mi hai mandato, e hai amato loro, come hai amato me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.	24 Padre, io voglio, che quelli, che desti a me, siano anch' essi con me, dove son io: che vedano la gloria mia, quale tu l'hai a me data: perché mi hai amato prima della formazione del mondo.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.	25 Padre giusto, il mondo non ti ha conosciuto; ma io ti ho conosciuto: e questi han conosciuto, che tu mi hai mandato.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.	26 E ho fatto, e farò noto ad essi il tuo nome: affinchè la carità, con la quale amasti me, sia in loro, ed io in essi.
