Deuteronomy 22

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Thou shalt not see the brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.	1 Si tu vois vagabonder le boeuf de ton frère ou quelque pièce de son petit bétail, tu ne tedéroberas pas, mais tu les ramèneras à ton frère.
2 And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.	2 Si ton frère n'est pas de ton voisinage ou si tu ne le connais pas, tu les recueilleras chez toi ettu les garderas avec toi jusqu'à ce que ton frère vienne les chercher; alors tu les lui rendras.
3 In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.	3 Ainsi feras-tu pour son âne, ainsi feras-tu pour son manteau, ainsi feras-tu pour tout objetperdu par ton frère et que tu trouveras; tu n'as pas le droit de te dérober.
4 Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.	4 Si tu vois tomber en chemin l'âne ou le boeuf de ton frère, tu ne te déroberas pas mais tuaideras ton frère à le relever.
5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.	5 Une femme ne portera pas un costume masculin, et un homme ne mettra pas un vêtement defemme: quiconque agit ainsi est en abomination à Yahvé ton Dieu.
6 If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:	6 Si tu rencontres en chemin un nid d'oiseau avec des oisillons ou des oeufs, sur un arbre ou àterre, et que la mère soit posée sur les oisillons ou les oeufs, tu ne prendras pas la mère sur les petits.
7 But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.	7 Laisse partir la mère; ce sont les petits que tu prendras pour toi. Ainsi auras-tu prospérité etlongue vie.
8 When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.	8 Quand tu bâtiras une maison neuve, tu feras au toit un parapet; ainsi ta maison n'encourra pasla vengeance du sang au cas où quelqu'un viendrait à tomber.
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.	9 Tu ne sèmeras pas autre chose dans ta vigne, de peur que le tout ne soit consacré: et leproduit de ta semence, et le fruit de ta vigne.
10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.	10 Tu ne laboureras pas avec un boeuf et un âne ensemble.
11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.	11 Tu ne porteras pas de vêtement tissé mi-laine mi-lin.
12 Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.	12 Tu feras des glands aux quatre bords de l'habit dont tu te couvriras.
13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,	13 Si un homme épouse une femme, s'unit à elle et ensuite la prend en aversion,
14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:	14 et qu'il lui impute alors des fautes et la diffame publiquement en disant: "Cette femme quej'ai épousée et dont je me suis approché, je ne lui ai pas trouvé les signes de la virginité",
15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:	15 le père de la jeune femme et sa mère prendront les signes de sa virginité et les produirontdevant les anciens de la ville, à la porte.
16 And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;	16 Le père de la jeune femme dira alors aux anciens: "Ma fille que j'ai donnée pour femme àcet homme, il l'a prise en aversion,
17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.	17 et voici qu'il lui impute des fautes en disant: Je n'ai pas trouvé à ta fille les signes de lavirginité. Or, voici les signes de la virginité de ma fille." Et ils déploieront le linge devant les anciens de la cité.
18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;	18 Les anciens de cette cité se saisiront de l'homme, le châtieront
19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.	19 et lui infligeront une amende de cent pièces d'argent, qu'ils donneront au père de la jeunefemme, pour avoir diffamé publiquement une vierge d'Israël. Il l'aura pour femme et ne pourra jamais larépudier.
20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:	20 Mais si la chose est avérée, et qu'on n'ait pas trouvé à la jeune femme les signes de lavirginité,
21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.	21 on la fera sortir à la porte de la maison de son père et ses concitoyens la lapideront jusqu'àce que mort s'ensuive, pour avoir commis une infamie en Israël en déshonorant la maison de son père. Tu ferasdisparaître le mal du milieu de toi.
22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.	22 Si l'on prend sur le fait un homme couchant avec une femme mariée, tous deux mourront:l'homme qui a couché avec la femme et la femme elle-même. Tu feras disparaître d'Israël le mal.
23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;	23 Si une jeune fille vierge est fiancée à un homme, qu'un autre homme la rencontre dans laville et couche avec elle,
24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.	24 vous les conduirez tous deux à la porte de cette ville et vous les lapiderez jusqu'à ce quemort s'ensuive: la jeune fille parce qu'elle n'a pas appelé au secours dans la ville, et l'homme parce qu'il a usé dela femme de son prochain. Tu feras disparaître le mal du milieu de toi.
25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:	25 Mais si c'est dans la campagne que l'homme a rencontré la jeune fille fiancée, qu'il l'aviolentée et a couché avec elle, l'homme qui a couché avec elle mourra seul;
26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:	26 tu ne feras rien à la jeune fille, il n'y a pas en elle de péché qui mérite la mort. Le cas estsemblable à celui d'un homme qui se jette sur son prochain pour le tuer:
27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.	27 car c'est à la campagne qu'il l'a rencontrée, et la jeune fille fiancée a pu crier sans quepersonne vienne à son secours.
28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;	28 Si un homme rencontre une jeune fille vierge qui n'est pas fiancée, la saisit et couche avecelle, pris sur le fait,
29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.	29 l'homme qui a couché avec elle donnera au père de la jeune fille 50 pièces d'argent; elle serasa femme, puisqu'il a usé d'elle, et il ne pourra jamais la répudier.
30 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.
