1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.	1 Ecco! Sui monti i piedi di chi proclama "Salvezza!".
2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.	2 Sale contro di te un devastatore! Monta la guardia sullo spalto, sorveglia il cammino, stringiti i fianchi, raccogli tutte le forze!
3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.	3 Il Signore restaura la vigna di Giacobbe e la vigna d'Israele; i ladri li avevano depredati e ne avevano distrutto i tralci.
4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.	4 Lo scudo dei suoi prodi è fiammeggiante, i suoi valorosi sono vestiti di scarlatto; per la lucentezza dei ferri splendono i carri; nel giorno dell'attacco i cavalieri si agitano;
5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make hast to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.	5 per le strade sfrecciano i carri, corrono alla rinfusa nelle piazze; a vederli sono come fiaccole, come folgori guizzano qua e là.
6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.	6 Egli richiama le sue truppe scelte, fino a spossarle durante la marcia; si slanciano contro la sua cinta, il riparo è già pronto, la copertura di scudi è già formata.
7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.	7 Le porte sul fiume si spalancano, è in subbuglio il palazzo;
8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.	8 si rimuove, emigra la signora, e le sue ancelle gemono; come un gemere di colombe gemono sopra il loro petto.
9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.	9 Ninive è come un serbatoio d'acqua le cui acque scorrono via! "Fermatevi! Fermatevi!". Ma nessuno torna indietro!
10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.	10 Depredate argento! Depredate oro! I tesori sono infiniti! Impadronitevi delle ricchezze, d'ogni oggetto prezioso!
11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?	11 Spoliazione! Saccheggio! Rapina! Il cuore vien meno, le ginocchia vacillano; lo spavento è in tutti i cuori e tutti i volti si scolorano!
12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.	12 Dov'è il covo dei leoni e la caverna dei leoncini? Il leone parte, resta la leonessa con i leoncini, senza essere molestati.
13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.	13 Il leone sbrana per i suoi cuccioli, squarta per le sue leonesse; riempie di preda le sue tane e le sue caverne di animali sbranati!
	14 Ecco! A te! Dice il Signore degli eserciti: Ridurrò in fumo i tuoi carri e i tuoi piccoli li divorerà la spada! Farò scomparire dalla terra le tue rapine né più si udrà la voce dei tuoi massacri!
