1 He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.	1 Voyez déjà sur les montagnes les pieds du messager, de celui qui nous annonce la paix. Juda, reprends tes pèlerinages, accomplis tes vœux, car le brigand ne passera plus chez toi; il a été anéanti.
2 For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.	2 2:3 Yahvé ramène la gloire de Jacob, la gloire d’Israël; des ravageurs l’avaient ravagé, ils en avaient détruit les rejetons.
3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.	3 2:2 Monte la garde sur tes remparts, veille sur tes chemins, prends courage et rassemble tes forces, car le Destructeur monte contre toi.
4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.	4 Ses soldats portent le bouclier rouge, ses guerriers sont habillés de pourpre, ses chars en rangs serrés scintillent comme des torches, ses hommes ont le casque sur la tête.
5 He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make hast to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.	5 Ils s’élancent à travers les rues et bondissent sur les places comme des torches enflammées, comme des éclairs de feu.
6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.	6 Contre eux on fait appel aux plus vaillants, mais c’est un échec; ils s’élancent vers la muraille et mettent en place le bouclier.
7 And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.	7 Bientôt les portes sont enfoncées, se brisent, et dans le palais c’est la déroute.
8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.	8 On fait sortir la déesse, leur reine, on l’emmène captive; ses servantes sont en larmes, elles gémissent comme des colombes et se frappent les seins.
9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.	9 Ninive est comme un bassin dont les eaux s’échappent; on crie: “Arrêtez! Arrêtez!” Mais pas un ne se retourne.
10 She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.	10 On entend des cris: “Pillez l’argent, pillez l’or!” Ses richesses ne se pouvaient compter, quelle abondance de tout ce qu’on peut désirer!
11 Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?	11 Pillage, ravage, carnage! Les habitants sont dans l’épouvante, leurs genoux tremblent, les plus courageux sont désemparés, et tous sont blancs de peur.
12 The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.	12 Qu’est devenu le repaire des lions, la caverne des lionceaux? N’est-ce pas là que le lion conduisait ses petits et nul ne les inquiétait?
13 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.	13 Le lion mettait en pièces pour nourrir ses petits, il déchirait pour ses lionnes; il remplissait de ses proies ses repaires, et ses cavernes, de ce qu’il avait chassé.
	14 Mais voici que je viens vers toi - parole de Yahvé Sabaot. Tes chars partiront en fumée, l’épée dévorera tes lionceaux; la terre ne verra plus tes chasses et l’on n’entendra plus la voix de tes hommes.
