Amos 4

¹ Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.	¹ Ecoutez cette parole, vaches grasses qui êtes sur la montagne de Samarie, vous qui calomniez les faibles et qui brisez les pauvres, qui dites à vos maîtres: Apportez, et nous boirons.
² The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.	² Le Seigneur Dieu l'a juré par Sa sainteté, voici, les jours viendront pour vous où l'on vous enlèvera avec des crocs, et où l'on mettra ce qui restera de vous dans des chaudières bouillantes.
³ And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the LORD.	³ Et vous sortirez par les brèches, l'une en face de l'autre, et vous serez jetées dans Armon, dit le Seigneur.
⁴ Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:	⁴ Alors le Seigneur purifiera les souillures des filles de Sion, et Il lavera Jérusalem du sang qui est au milieu d'elle, par un esprit de justice et par un esprit d'ardeur.
⁵ And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.	⁵ Offrez avec du levain des sacrifices d'actions de grâces, proclamez et publiez des oblations volontaires, car c'est là ce que vous voulez, enfants d'Israël, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
⁶ And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.	⁶ C'est pourquoi Je vous ai envoyé l'engourdissement des dents dans toutes vos villes, et la disette du pain dans toutes vos localités; et vous n'êtes pas revenus à Moi, dit le Seigneur.
⁷ And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.	⁷ Je vous ai aussi refusé la pluie, lorsqu'il restait encore trois mois jusqu'à la moisson; J'ai fait pleuvoir sur une ville, et Je n'ai pas fai pleuvoir sur une autre ville; un endroit a reçu la pluie, et un autre, sur lequel Je n'ai pas fait pleuvoir, s'est desséché.
⁸ So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.	⁸ Deux ou trois villes sont allées vers une autre ville pour boire de l'eau, et elles n'ont pu apaiser leur soif; et vous n'êtes pas revenus à Moi, dit le Seigneur.
⁹ I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.	⁹ Je vous ai frappés par un vent brûlant et par la nielle; la chenille a dévoré tous vos jardins et toutes vos vignes, vos plants d'oliviers et de figuiers; et vous n'êtes pas revenus à Moi, dit le Seigneur.
¹⁰ I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.	¹⁰ J'ai envoyé contre vous la mort, comme en Egypte; J'ai frappé vos geunes gens par l'épée, et laissé prendre vos chevaux; J'ai fait monter à vos narines la puanteur de votre camp; et vous n'étes pas revenus à Moi, dit le Seigneur.
¹¹ I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.	¹¹ Je vous ai détruits comme Dieu a détruit Sodome et Gomorrhe, et vous avez été comme un tison arraché au feu; et vous n'êtes pas revenus à Moi, dit le Seigneur.
¹² Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.	¹² C'est pourquoi Je te traiterai ainsi, Israël; et, après que Je t'aurai traité ainsi, prépare-toi à la rencontre de ton Dieu, Israël.
¹³ For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.	¹³ Car voici Celui qui forme les montagnes et qui crée le vent, qui annonce à l'homme Sa parole, qui produit la nuée du matin, et qui marche sur les hauteurs de la terre: Son nom est le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées.
